Nico Haynes had just finished speaking when the phone rang.
He took out his phone and saw the caller ID was Second Brother Sutherland. He pressed the answer key.
"Old Three, Daisy has had an accident. Use all your contacts and connections to help ," Dawn Sutherland’s voice ca over the phone, filled with urgency and worry.
Nico Haynes paused for a mont, "No problem, have you also asked Boss Seys for help?"
"I’ve called everyone who can help."
"...If Daisy Grant has had an accident, shouldn’t Aidan Sutherland be the most anxious? Why are you this freaked out... seen a ghost?!"
"Old Three!" Dawn coldly reprimanded.
Nico imdiately admitted his mistake, "I was wrong, Second Brother! Okay, Daisy Grant is your treasure, Dawn, I’ll definitely do my best to find her! Second Brother—seriously, let ask one last thing. I’ve been thinking about your feelings and concern for Daisy, it seems to go beyond what a brother-in-law should feel for a sister-in-law, are you—are you—hmm?"
There was silence on the other end for over ten seconds before Dawn spoke coldly to Nico, "Keep your mouth shut!" And then he hung up.
What the hell, isn’t this an admission?!
Second Brother, you are really sothing, falling in love with your soon-to-be sister-in-law... no, Second Brother Sutherland, you’re really pitiable!
That person in your heart is really Daisy Grant!!!
Nico was shocked.
A few days ago, Dawn was in a terrible mood for so reason. He dragged Nico out to drink, drank until he was drunk, and then drank so more. They drowned their sorrows for three days! It almost drove Nico crazy! When he asked Dawn the reason, he learned it was because the girl he liked was getting married, and he witnessed another man kissing the one he loved.
So these past few days, Nico had been trying to figure out who was in Dawn’s heart, hoping to help his troubled Second Brother, to see if that person might co to like him.
Nico racked his brain, thinking through all the girls who had interacted with Dawn since childhood, only to find that Dawn treated every girl with gentlemanly courtesy but a certain distance. It drove Nico crazy trying to figure out who had taken hold of Dawn’s heart.
He never thought of Daisy Grant because she had been the predetermined sister-in-law from childhood! But just now, when Dawn, who usually remained calm, contacted him in a panic to help find Daisy, inspiration struck, and he thought of all the little differences in Dawn’s behavior towards Daisy over the years, so he asked the question.
And now, having received the answer, Nico truly felt that Dawn was destined to a lifeti of solitude, spending his life as a bachelor! Falling in love with your sister-in-law, can it end well?!
While Nico was lost in thought, Little King’s voice rang out again, sounding anxious: "Young Master Haynes, if you keep zoning out, your wife is going to be taken by Wells Morales! Aren’t you worried?!"
He was anxious for Young Master Haynes!
Nico grabbed Little King, his eyes widened, losing his playful deanor, and said seriously, "What’s going on down there? How could it be my wife? What do those two won look like?"
The bar owner, Clayton Teston, swiped on his phone and said flatly to Nico, "Earlier, when I sent Little King in to deliver beer, I placed a pinhole cara inside. Let’s take a look at the situation in the room. I’ve called the police, but whether they co is uncertain, and even if they do, they’ll purposely delay. It’s simply because they don’t dare to provoke Wells Morales! He’s been running rampant in City C for over a decade, with solid roots, as the boss of the Restricted District, and the police station doesn’t dare to cause trouble with him."
Nico took Clayton Teston’s phone, sneering, "Let’s see which foolish won dare to impersonate Little King’s wife! My brand isn’t sothing to randomly hide behind!"
