Aidan Sutherland carefully helped Daisy Grant out of the car and supported her as they walked towards the Grant Family’s ho.
The door was opened by a Grant Family servant, who imdiately greeted them respectfully: "Miss, Young Master Sutherland."
Daisy Grant softly acknowledged with a nod, her foot aching, brow furrowed.
Aidan led Daisy to the sofa and helped her sit down.
"Miss, the master and madam have gone to visit friends and will be away for a few days."
Daisy Grant nodded, "I know, there’s not much going on lately. You can also relax and take a few days off. I can order takeout when I’m ho alone."
The servant imdiately smiled in gratitude: "Thank you, Miss."
"Go and rest, it’s very late."
"Sure, good night, Miss."
"Mm."
After the servant left, Aidan spoke to Daisy, "The Grant Family will be empty for a few days. How about I take you to stay at the Sutherland Family for a while? My mom and the others are ho, and they could keep you company. I can look after you too."
Daisy smiled faintly and shook her head, "No need, Aidan. I’m fine alone at ho. Once my foot heals, I need to go to the company. I haven’t been to my dad’s company lately, and there’s a stack of tasks I’ve yet to handle. These couple of days, I’ll be busy sorting through the files my secretary sent."
"Takeout isn’t healthy. I’ll have my mom make soup for you every day, and I’ll bring it over. Don’t eat those unhygienic takeouts while you’re recovering," Aidan suggested.
"Really, it’s no trouble," Daisy politely declined.
"We’re getting married soon. It’s only natural for you to command . It’s no trouble at all."
Daisy pursed her lips, "Alright then, thank you, Aidan."
They were going to get married soon. Daisy would try her best to accept Aidan, to at least maintain a polite relationship in this political marriage. It was beneficial for both the Grant and Sutherland families. And like her brother said, she needed to be happy, so her brother wouldn’t worry about her anymore.
"It’s late, Aidan. Go ho and rest. Drive slowly and be safe," Daisy smiled gently, her voice soft.
Aidan was montarily entranced by Daisy’s pure and elegant smile, motionless.
Daisy was beautiful, with a clean and pure beauty that brought warmth and comfort. Aidan was genuinely satisfied with this fiancée, whom he’d known since childhood: beautiful, elegant, poised, and the only daughter of the Grant Family. Heaven favored Daisy, bestowing her with many virtues.
Aidan chuckled lightly, his voice low and magnetic, "So, my soon-to-be wife, you really don’t intend to give any kind of benefit? After all, I’ve brought you ho in the middle of the night. Shouldn’t there be so small reward or comfort, hmm?"
Daisy’s body tensed slightly. How could she not understand Aidan’s words? Aidan had hinted a few tis about wanting to develop a more intimate relationship with her, but she had constantly resisted. Despite being a couple for so many years, they still hadn’t reached that level of intimacy.
Daisy’s face broke into a faint smile, but it was sowhat stiff, "Aidan, it’s late. Go rest. I want to sleep now; I’ll head to my room first."
Her heart was pounding nervously. Aidan’s intense gaze made her anxious and fearful. She stood up, intending to return to her room, to escape it all.
As Daisy just got up, her hand was caught, stopping her from leaving, and she had to pause, her palm covered in a fine sheen of sweat.
Aidan stood up, moving closer to Daisy, his voice husky, "Daisy, I’ve always respected you, never crossed the line, never touched you. But now that our wedding date is set, can you trustingly give yourself to ? After all, I can’t escape. Our marriage is already arranged, and eventually, we’ll reach that point. Daisy, I’ll stay tonight..."
