Ariel Morris felt a bit guilty about lying, not daring to look at Arlo Seys’s expression.
Arlo Seys’s gaze shifted slightly and he gave her a deep look, "Rest well, I’m here with you. Is there anything you want to eat? I can have Aunt Forest buy it for you."
"I want to eat bayberries! And hawthorn! Oranges!" Ariel Morris blurted out. Only after she spoke did she realize she had ntioned all sour foods. She imdiately laughed and said, "Well—sour things whet my appetite. My appetite hasn’t been great recently, so I might like sour things."
"I understand." Arlo Seys’s expression was calm, not exposing Ariel Morris’s lie at all.
Life is like a play, all dependent on one’s acting skills. He and his wife still needed to engage in this act for so ti, and he was confident his acting wouldn’t be inferior to hers.
Since his wife didn’t wish for him to know about the existence of a child, he would pretend not to know! When she slips up, he could help cover up the lie.
"Then I’ll rest, Arlo."
"Alright."
Ariel Morris said she would sleep, and as soon as she lay down, she fell asleep. Hospitalization over the past few days plus her appetite issues had led to her not eating much. Arlo Seys watched Ariel Morris’s slightly pale sleeping face, his eyes filled with heartache.
Ariel Morris was already slender, and due to her health and pregnancy, she appeared even leaner, and her spirits were not very high. Arlo Seys’s thin lips pressed into a tight line.
He reached out and caressed her outline, murmuring softly, "Ariel, the road ahead is long. I don’t know if you can hang on, but please, for my sake, hold on. I will always be by your side, through thick and thin."
Arlo Seys’s gaze moved down to Ariel Morris’s abdon, and his pale, well-defined fingers moved down to her abdon as well, gently caressing through the blanket, his eyes soft yet his voice clear and cold, "I’m telling you, don’t trouble your mom too much, or you’ll regret it once you’re out! If you give your mom a hard ti, don’t bla for giving up on you! Your mom is risking her life to give you a chance at life, be smart and well-behaved in your mom’s belly, eat and sleep well, and don’t cause trouble!"
Arlo Seys sat back on the sofa, researching many matters about pregnancy precautions on his laptop, as well as balanced nutrition and foods beneficial for pregnant won, jotting down notes one by one.
Arlo Seys handed over the compiled diet list to Aunt Forest at ho, instructing her, "From now on, prepare als for the young madam according to this. Also, keep plenty of bayberries, hawthorns, and oranges at ho. Take good care of her when I’m not around. If she wants to eat anything, call , and I’ll bring it back after work. When she’s awake, make sure there are no water spots on the floor; only mop when she’s asleep. Be sure to ensure she doesn’t slip or have any accidents."
"Don’t disturb her if she’s asleep. When she wakes up, make her sothing to eat, small and frequent als. If I’m back late, don’t let her wait for , and remind her to wear an extra layer at night—never mind, I’ll try not to work overti and co back early every day. Take good care of her when I’m not around."
Aunt Forest was in a state of confusion, her eyes wide as she looked at her young master.
In all her years with the Seys Family, it was the first ti she’d heard the young master give her so many instructions at once. Her young master was usually aloof but easy to get along with and wasn’t particular about food. Why was he so ticulous now?
Aunt Forest took the diet list Arlo Seys compiled, her eyes widening, "Young master, is the young madam expecting?"
Arlo Seys’s brow twitched.
Aunt Forest had experience, and it was easy for her to discern the situation based on his instructions...
