Even though those words superficially praised Asher Sutherland and Selah Sutton, they were actually ant to defend him as he spoke for Evalian Chapman.
Just because she knew, Evalian Chapman had offended Selah Sutton, and Selah Sutton would make things difficult for him. And what Daisy did was to protect him, her second brother.
His eyes fixed straight ahead, suddenly brightening, as that all-too-familiar silhouette of a car appeared in his sight. Dawn Sutherland’s gaze flickered, the left side of his chest accelerated with joy.
Evalian Chapman’s gaze also turned forward, surprised as she spoke, "Eh, isn’t that Daisy Grant’s car? Why is it parked by the roadside?"
Dawn Sutherland’s thin lips moved slightly, maintaining the sa speed as he drove towards Daisy Grant’s parked car, his face placid, though ripples swirled within him already.
Dawn Sutherland’s car stopped next to Daisy Grant’s car. He rolled down the window, seeing Daisy sitting in the driver’s seat with eyes closed to rest, her face sowhat pale, he sternly asked, "Daisy, what’s wrong?"
Daisy’s closed eyes, her lips quivered, hearing the familiar voice as if in a dream. She slightly tilted her head, seeing Dawn Sutherland who had unknowingly parked beside her car, she gently shook her head, "Nothing, second brother."
Her voice was weak, her pale complexion indicating that sothing was indeed wrong! Dawn Sutherland’s face darkened, he opened the car door, got out, and directly walked towards Daisy Grant’s car door, his tone cold as he asked, "Tell ! What exactly is wrong?!"
From Dawn Sutherland’s car, Evalian Chapman did not miss the worry in his eyes, and his cold, commanding tone further revealed his slight anger at Daisy’s perfunctory responses. Evalian Chapman’s heart sank, her fingers tightly clutching her clothes, as she watched the two intently.
Daisy’s forehead was covered with fine beads of sweat, and her lips appeared sowhat pale. She pressed her lips together, speaking feebly, "I’m not feeling well... second brother."
Her soft and weak voice tugged at Dawn Sutherland’s heart.
Dawn reached out, opening Daisy’s car door, his slender fingers touched her forehead, his tone had an uncontainable urgency, "You don’t have a fever, where are you feeling unwell? I’m taking you to the hospital now!"
Dawn said as he intended to lift Daisy out to switch places with her, in her current state she absolutely could not drive!
Daisy saw the worry in Dawn’s eyes, her own eyes softened, yet she didn’t miss the direct gaze beside her, it was Evalian Chapman’s. Daisy furrowed her brows slightly, reached out to stop Dawn from lifting her, and spoke with a faint smile, "Second brother—I just need to rest for a bit, it’s nothing."
Her fingertips, touching his hand, were sowhat cold, causing Dawn to frown, "Why are your hands so cold, still sweating cold! Daisy Grant, where exactly are you feeling unwell?!"
Daisy shook her head, "Second brother, it’s nothing serious, I just might be a bit carsick, feeling uncomfortable all over."
"Don’t lie! You were never carsick before! Where exactly are you feeling unwell? Daisy Grant, tell the truth!" Dawn’s tone was sowhat icy, his gaze stern.
Daisy was montarily stunned.
It had been a long ti since she’d seen this side of her second brother, the similar imposing and aloof nature he had when they were young, so different from the gentle and refined second brother he had beco. How could he so suddenly revert to his boyhood self?
Daisy ca to her senses, "Second brother, I really am just carsick. I might have eaten a bit too much at the Sutherland family, drove a while, and my stomach felt bad, then I started to break out in cold sweat. Other than feeling a bit nauseous, honestly, nothing else is wrong. But I can’t seem to vomit, which makes it uncomfortable."
"How could you suddenly get carsick? You never did before." Dawn frowned.
