Daisy Grant stood in the snow, so cold her body lost feeling and beca stiff.
Her gaze rested on the tightly shut front door, guilt rising in her eyes.
Her willfulness made her father pay physically, causing imnse discomfort in her heart.
She wasn’t sure how long she’d been standing in the snow when a car approached, its headlights illuminating her back, casting light on the snow, causing Daisy’s gaze to shift slightly.
The car stopped outside the gate behind her. As the car door closed, footsteps quickly approached her.
Daisy’s body was very stiff. Before she turned around, an umbrella sheltered her from the falling snow overhead.
Daisy slowly lifted her gaze to the umbrella above her head, and before she could speak, a coat was draped over her.
The coat radiated warmth, a familiar scent entered her nose, causing Daisy to feel a sour sensation at the tip of her nose, her eyes once again turning a deep red.
"Second Brother—"
"Mm."
Dawn Sutherland stood beside Daisy Grant holding the umbrella, his gaze fixed on the tightly shut door of the Grant Family, his thin lips pressed together, his eyes deepening.
"Second Brother... why are you here?" Daisy’s voice was slightly hoarse.
The coat ward her body, offering a sense of warmth, seemingly thawing her frozen fra.
"Donna called ." Dawn looked at Daisy, his gaze profound, "Tell who that man is!"
Daisy’s body trembled slightly, "Second Brother, please don’t ask , okay?"
"Daisy Grant, you’ve gone this far because of him, is it worth it? You’re pregnant out of wedlock, do you know how terrible the gossip you must endure would be?! Has he taken any responsibility?!" Dawn looked at Daisy, his voice cold and reprimanding.
Daisy furrowed her brow, looking at Dawn before her, his light gray sweater accentuating his bright and serene deanor. Yet, without hesitation, he draped his coat over her when he got out of the car. Coming from an air-conditioned vehicle into the snow presented a greater temperature contrast than for Daisy who had been standing outside for so long, yet Second Brother didn’t hesitate, he gave her his coat.
Daisy’s gaze moved slightly, looking deeply at Dawn, her words increasingly firm and resolute: "It’s worth it. Between him and ... I sched against him, it’s not his fault, the responsibility is mine."
"Daisy Grant, is he worth you treating yourself like this?! Your future, everything you have, is it all inferior compared to him?! Do you know how people in City C will gossip about you once this matter spreads?! Can you withstand all those rumors?!" Dawn felt a surge of anger suppressed in his chest, ready to burst out!
Daisy’s fingers clenched around the coat she wore, a complex expression in her eyes as she looked at Dawn, "Yes, this ti, Second Brother, let be willful just this once, okay? Actually, I’ve never really had anything, I want love but cannot have it, I don’t even have the courage to express it. Second Brother, I’ve loved him for more than ten years, and for loving him, I’ve even lost my sense of dignity and sha. I sched against him, had relations with him without him knowing. This child... may be the only thing I can have from him in my lifeti."
"Do you know that you will end up with nothing!!" Dawn was furious.
He hated her quiet indifference, hated her persistent and restrained deep love.
Daisy let out a gentle laugh, "It’s okay, I’m not ant to have happiness." Daisy said, her gaze eting Dawn’s, her voice hoarse and choked with emotion: "Second Brother, I have nothing, I’m rejected by everyone. Will you distance yourself from ? Will you, too, see as cheap and look down on because I’m pregnant out of wedlock?"
