"I know that neither my background nor anything else catches your eye, but I’m still young. When I reach your stage, I am confident that my height can surpass yours!" Dawn Sutherland’s voice was deep, filled with certainty and confidence. "I can’t give Daisy Grant the best right now, but in the future, she will absolutely not regret choosing and end up at the worst because I won’t let her lose."
Roo Grant looked at Dawn Sutherland for a few seconds, then casually picked up the tea beside him and took a sip, "You sound quite confident. Dawn Sutherland, I heard that your C.Y company is doing quite well. What are your plans for the future?"
Dawn Sutherland paused, not expecting Roo Grant to shift the topic, yet he continued the conversation naturally.
Dawn Sutherland spent half an hour clearly and thodically discussing the company’s future plans and goals. Roo Grant listened, occasionally nodding and offering Dawn Sutherland a few suggestions, his expression always indifferent, making it hard for Dawn to grasp his inner thoughts.
Finally, Roo Grant sipped his tea and asked Dawn Sutherland indifferently, "You’ve talked quite a bit, Dawn Sutherland. Tell , if you were to defeat Era, do you have confidence?"
Dawn Sutherland hadn’t expected such a tricky question from Roo Grant. He lightly pressed his lips and casually replied, "This hypothesis will never exist. Firstly, Era will never be my imaginary enemy. Secondly, Era and C.Y are like Arlo and , as close as brothers. In the future, in all of City C, Arlo, Nico, and I will stand side by side at the top! If I were to succeed by stepping on Era, even if I reached the top, I would be shivering with no friends around . Standing at the peak would be aningless."
Roo Grant scrutinized Dawn Sutherland again for a few seconds, then said, "Why marry Daisy Grant? You must know she now has nothing. Marrying her won’t gain you any support from the Grant Family, nor will it help your career."
Dawn Sutherland looked at Roo Grant, his gaze earnest, "Being able to marry her is the greatest fortune. I’ve never considered it as assistance. As for why I’m marrying her... In youth, and throughout this life, she was the one who always believed in and encouraged . When I had nothing and was denied by everyone, even when I doubted myself, it was her steadfast belief in as the best person that awakened ."
Roo Grant’s eyes deeply swept over Dawn Sutherland.
With a calm deanor, Dawn Sutherland faced Roo Grant’s scrutiny without any avoidance or discomfort, everything was so sincere and genuine.
Roo Grant grunted, "I’ve finished looking. You may leave. As for your marriage to her, I have no plans to recognize this daughter. You can do whatever you want. We won’t attend the wedding. Dawn Sutherland, if you want to marry a Daisy Grant who has nothing, you should be prepared for the burden in her belly. Alright, you can leave now. I’m tired and want to rest."
Dawn Sutherland stood up, "Uncle Grant, Aunt Grant, I’ll visit you again next ti, goodbye."
Sophie Brown nodded towards Dawn Sutherland, while Roo Grant’s gaze followed Dawn until he disappeared beyond the door of the hospital room.
After Dawn Sutherland left, Sophie Brown looked at Roo Grant with reproach, "Old Grant, your words were too harsh just now. How could you belittle your daughter in front of others like that? Besides, I think this Dawn Sutherland is much better than Aidan Sutherland, polite and courteous, most importantly, willing to marry Daisy Grant at this ti. He’s always treated her well since she was young, really seeing her as a sister to love and cherish."
Roo Grant casually uttered, "This second son of the Sutherland Family will inevitably beco outstanding in the future... I just hope that the stubborn Daisy Grant will have her blessings despite her foolishness..."
