"If I co back too late, don’t wait for ." Nangong Jin reached out to gently stroke her hair, his expression incredibly tender.

"I’ll wait for you," Di Jinxuan looked into his eyes and said firmly.

Nangong Jin’s heart ached. He scooped her up in his arms and gently placed her on the bed. "Be good. Sleep well first. Once I’ve handled everything, I’ll co to you. I’ll leave through the window, don’t worry."

Was he afraid his family would find out he was leaving?

Di Jinxuan furrowed her brows slightly. "Alright, but be careful. I’ll wait for you."

"Mm." Nangong Jin nodded and planted a kiss on her brow. "I’m going now. Sleep tight."

"Okay." Di Jinxuan closed her eyes.

When Nangong Jin climbed out the window, he lingered there for a mont, turning back to look at her. There was a hint of reluctance, a tinge of sadness and guilt. He couldn’t shake the feeling that leaving on a night like this would make her heart ache.

But he had to go to the eting. This was sothing that couldn’t be postponed. He had to figure out what he truly wanted.

Letting out a silent sigh, Nangong Jin finally slipped out through the window and walked away without looking back.

Di Jinxuan, who had been lying quietly on the bed with her eyes closed, suddenly opened them. Staring at the window where his figure had just vanished, she couldn’t help but feel a pang of worry.

Could it be sothing serious?

Once outside the Di Family residence, Nangong Jin glanced at the ti. It looked just right—he needed to leave early to ensure everything could be arranged in advance.

He chose not to drive to avoid Fang Hao and Di Yan noticing his midnight departure.

Taking out his phone, he saw a text notification pop up. There were only four words: "Spring Arrival Teahouse."

Nangong Jin took one look, furrowed his brows, then ultimately set his phone aside.

The Spring Arrival Teahouse was a high-end establishnt located in the pedestrian street at the city center. The place was bustling with people and full of lively chatter. At this hour, the city’s nightlife was just beginning to bloom.

He checked his phone again. There was still an hour left until eleven.

Heading there now would give him plenty of ti.

The owner of Spring Arrival Teahouse was soone Nangong Jin naturally knew. After so thought, he made a call to request a VIP room be arranged for him.

Next, he dialed another number, his tone much lighter than before. "Since you’ve co all this way, let host. The room is ready—I’ll be waiting for you there."

"Alright." The other party was straightforward and quickly agreed.

Though Nangong Jin hadn’t driven, he opened the car anyway. From the glove compartnt in the center console, he retrieved a small box, fishing out two handguns before stepping out.

Taking a taxi from here would probably take about half an hour.

Upon arriving at the teahouse, the owner—being well-acquainted—imdiately ca out to greet him. A smile stretched across his face as he slightly bowed. "Young Master Jin, you’re here alone tonight?"

"I’ve got a friend joining ," Nangong Jin replied. He lit a cigarette, his eyes carrying a trace of coldness, though his lips wore their familiar mischievous grin. "How about Ya Xin and Ya Qi?"

The owner’s brows arched in surprise but quickly responded, "They’re here, Young Master Jin. Shall I have them accompany you tonight?"

"They’ve invited countless tis—wouldn’t it be rude not to let them join?" Nangong Jin raised an eyebrow. "Summon them both."

The owner was stunned, hardly able to believe it. Everyone in the capital’s circle knew that Nangong Jin was ant to be proposing to the Di Family’s fifth lady today, wasn’t he?

And now, re hours later, here he was out partying?

"Just playing along," Nangong Jin remarked, patting the owner on the shoulder. "Don’t overthink it. This isn’t my idea—it’s sothing a friend insisted on."

"Oh, understood." The owner nearly broke into a cold sweat, nodding hastily. "I’ll fetch them right away—they’ll be absolutely thrilled."

Spring Arrival Teahouse appeared to be an upscale teahouse in na, but the earnings from tea alone wouldn’t amount to much, would they?

Surely, there must be other things going on behind the scenes.
