But Di Jinxuan didn’t respond to him. Nangong Jin thought she had fallen asleep and couldn’t help but prop himself up to take a look. One glance, and he was almost scared out of his wits.
"Wife, wife, what’s wrong? Why are you crying?" Seeing the tears at the corner of Di Jinxuan’s eyes, Nangong Jin’s heart instantly plunged into a frenzy of panic.
He hurriedly, clumsily turned her over and wiped her tears with awkward movents, speaking with a pained expression, "Wife, what’s wrong?"
Could it be that she missed him so much that she cried?

But eating her wasn’t the priority right now—comforting his wife was!

The mont she opened her mouth, Nangong Jin’s heart twisted painfully. Oh Emma, her tiny voice sounded so pitiful.

The nightmare was so terrifying!
She dreamt that Nangong Jin was beaten to death right in front of her. She begged those people frantically, over and over, to stop, but they wouldn’t listen. She saw Nangong Jin covered in blood, still saying, "Don’t touch my wife," and then she cried, cried non-stop until she woke up, only to realize she had really been crying.
Hearing Di Jinxuan’s words, Nangong Jin finally let out a small sigh of relief and hurried to comfort her, "It’s okay, it’s okay, just a dream. Don’t be scared, don’t be scared. Your husband’s back. Don’t be afraid, okay?"
As he spoke, he pulled her into his arms, holding her tightly. Only then did the heart he had been holding up finally relax a little.
"Be good, my wife, don’t cry. Your husband will give you a kiss." Nangong Jin said while kissing her on her small face, gently patting her back to soothe her emotions.
Although Di Jinxuan was still a bit shaken, the nightmare had felt so real, leaving her heart feeling unbearably heavy and sad.
But fortunately, Nangong Jin had co back. It was just a dream, not reality. Right now, he was holding her tightly in his arms, and she could feel his warm body and the familiar scent he exuded.
She, too, wrapped her arms tightly around his neck, burying her face into his chest, greedily inhaling his scent to slowly steady her emotions.
Nangong Jin patted her back at a slow, steady pace, like comforting a small child. His movents were tender and full of patience. Only after her emotions had cald a little did he ask softly, "Wife, what kind of nightmare did you have to be so scared?"
