Di Mingjue, unwilling to give up, dialed the number again.
This ti, Nangong Jin finally picked up. His voice was clearly hoarse, with a hint of labored breathing, and he asked, "What’s up?"
Although he had answered the phone, his hands didn’t stop their affectionate ministrations towards Di Jinxuan. The light sheen of sweat on his refined features was exceedingly captivating.
"You sound kind of... weak," Di Mingjue couldn’t help but tease in response to his voice.
Nangong Jin: "..."
"Get to the point." His response was concise.
Di Mingjue didn’t drag it out. "Co get barbecue with Jinxuan. At my eldest brother’s place. We’re just waiting on you two."
"Not coming, got sothing going on," Nangong Jin replied. "Jinxuan and I probably won’t be free until tomorrow afternoon at the earliest."
Di Mingjue: "..."
"What are you two doing?" Di Mingjue couldn’t help but ask. What kind of thing takes until tomorrow afternoon?
Nangong Jin didn’t want to tell Di Mingjue the truth, so he simply said, "Who doesn’t have stuff to do? Alright, hanging up now."
And with that, he hung up the call.
For the first ti, Di Mingjue felt a little awkward holding his phone!
Nangong Jin had actually hung up on him. This was a first!
"What did he say?" Di Mingchen couldn’t help but ask when he saw Di Mingjue’s dumbfounded look.
"Not coming. Said they had sothing going on and won’t be free until tomorrow afternoon," Di Mingjue replied.
"Probably figured out you’re up to no good and didn’t want to co," Di Mingchen chuckled.
Di Mingjue shrugged. Fine, based on the way the two of them sounded, it really seed like they were... ahem... doing that.
Oh well, better not keep bothering them. Showing rcy this once wouldn’t hurt.
After all, the other person *was* his sister.
"My third brother isn’t coming?" Nangong Ran seized the opportunity to ask quickly.
"Nope," Di Mingjue said, shaking his head.
Only then did Nangong Ran breathe a sigh of relief, but then she heard Di Mingchen remark, "They’re not really... doing that, are they?"
Di Mingjue shot Di Mingchen a disdainful look. "Curious? Call and ask yourself."

"Second brother, you’re overthinking this." Gu Qibao couldn’t resist chiming in. "If they keep at it until tomorrow afternoon, they’ll collapse from exhaustion!"
Or is it because your stamina is so impressive that you think it’s possible to go that long?
Nangong Ran couldn’t hold back her laughter, covering her face in embarrassnt. "Then my third brother’s legs must be shaking by now!"
"Hahaha." Gu Qibao and Di Xiaxia couldn’t help but burst out laughing. The courtyard was filled with joyous laughter, and the simple happiness spread like wildfire...
Laughing, teasing, and gently ribbing each other, all while showing care and affection for one another.
Right now, everyone was truly happy. Di Mingjue and Gu Qibao, Di Mingzhe and Di Xiaxia—they were all deeply in love, safe and healthy, with their children growing strong and about to be born soon.
And their due dates weren’t far apart; supposedly only a little over two weeks.
Now, Di Jinxuan and Nangong Jin were also a perfect match and would be getting married soon.
It seed the heavens had always been kind to them, granting them plentiful happiness and joy. And even when challenges arose, they overca them quickly.
Perhaps it was because they were a group of grateful and easily contented people.
When it ca to love, they valued the simple and steady—holding hands for a lifeti, supporting each other through thick and thin. They didn’t seek earth-shattering passion or grand gestures.

The challenges continued. Because although the whole process sounded celebratory and seed like a plus, it wasn’t necessarily so.
