"Oh." Di Mingjue nodded, then took his daughter from Qin Qian’s hands.
Speaking of which, the little sister didn’t seem hungry yet, but she was obviously woken up by Gege, opened her eyes, yet unexpectedly didn’t cry.
"Mom, you two should step out for a bit. I can handle it alone." Di Mingjue said to Qin Qian and Fang Hao.
"Are you sure you can manage on your own?" Fang Hao raised an eyebrow.
"Yes." Di Mingjue nodded.
"Alright then." Fang Hao also nodded, turned to Qin Qian and said, "Let’s go for a walk then."
"Okay." Qin Qian nodded, linked her arm with Fang Hao’s, and reminded them, "If you can’t manage, rember to call us."
"Alright, got it." Gu Qibao also nodded.
Once they left, Di Mingjue, carrying a child in each arm, approached and sat by the bedside, gazing expectantly at Gu Qibao.
Gu Qibao blinked and said, "Give the child to and help adjust the bed."
Di Mingjue looked at her, and couldn’t help but ask, "Baby, have you thought it over? Do you really want to breastfeed?"
Gu Qibao raised an eyebrow, "Are you talking about feeding formula milk?"
"Not entirely." Di Mingjue said, "I’m just worried that breastfeeding might cause changes in your body, and you’ll be upset about it."
"What sort of changes?" Gu Qibao blinked in confusion, as she wasn’t particularly knowledgeable about this aspect.
"Breasts...sagging..." Di Mingjue blurted out.
Gu Qibao froze for a mont, then suddenly felt amused, finding Di Mingjue’s manner utterly hilarious.
Holding a child anxiously awaiting to be fed, yet worrying over such matters for her, a wave of warmth surged from her heart.
Gu Qibao softened her gaze and asked, "Even if I don’t breastfeed, by the ti I’m sixty or seventy, my breasts will sag regardless. Would you still love then? Would you disdain ?"
"I would." Di Mingjue answered without hesitation, "No matter how you change, I will love you. I love your soul, not your body. All the sacrifices of childbirth are for my children. How could I disdain you?"
This was absolute truth; no matter how well a woman maintains herself or recovers after giving birth, she can’t compare to soone who hasn’t.
But motherhood is the purest form of sacrifice. A woman bears children for you, continuing your lineage, how could one ever disdain such a sacrifice?
Turning a girl into a woman, then a woman into a mother; enduring a knife, suffering through pain, giving birth, and then feeding the child; body changing, breasts deforming, face growing weary.
To eventually say you don’t love her anymore because she’s no longer young and beautiful, what kind of beast would do that?
Every girl is beautiful when she’s young, but love has her sacrificing her beauty, aging her face, yet she regrets nothing.
The future is long; even if your beauty fades, your youth vanishes, you remain my beloved.
Di Mingjue watched Gu Qibao’s gentle, water-like gaze; there was absolutely no chance he would ever disdain her, not in this lifeti, until the mont he dies and closes his eyes.
Seeing Di Mingjue like this, Gu Qibao found herself trusting him greatly, and imdiately reached out, saying, "Then what else is there to hesitate over? Hand him over to ."
Di Mingjue nodded, then placed the child beside her and adjusted the bed for her.
Gu Qibao’s abdon wasn’t feeling painful yet, but nothing compared to being completely well; she just felt uneasy all over.
Nevertheless, she paid it no mind.
Tentatively picking up her crying son, Gu Qibao found herself awkward, as it was her first ti breastfeeding; it was indeed a bit awkward!
