Nangong Lin: "Hehehe."
"By the way, it’s perfect timing for you to co to work today! Alvin is about to have a concert, and there’s a press conference this Saturday. The higher-ups said you should go to support him."
Nangong Lin: "..."
"Seriously?" Nangong Lin widened her eyes. "I’m an actress, he’s a singer. What am I supposed to support exactly?"
"Don’t you know Alvin is about to start filming?" Guagua said excitedly. "Once his concert is over, he’ll begin shooting."
Nangong Lin looked up speechlessly at the sky.
"Oh." Nangong Lin finally said, "Can I refuse?"
It’s a gig arranged by the company, and she can totally refuse to do it if she doesn’t want to.
"Nope." Guagua said kindly, "Because I already agreed for you, and the contract’s signed."
Nangong Lin: "!!!"
"You betrayer, selling out your friend for love!" Nangong Lin couldn’t help but curse Guagua.
Guagua chuckled, "Aw, don’t say that. I got you a new film, starring your favorite, Zheng Huayu!"
"Huh?" Nangong Lin raised her eyebrows, "No way! How’s that possible?"
Zheng Huayu is from D Country and, unlike Alvin, he hasn’t signed with Empire’s entertainnt company. Signing actors across countries is quite troubleso, and the pay is quite high.
"Why not?" Guagua pouted, "Zheng Huayu is super popular right now. It’s perfectly normal for the company to ask him to film."
"True." Nangong Lin nodded, instantly excited. "Let’s talk more when I’m at the office!"
When she got to the company, the first thing Nangong Lin did was check out the script. She was intrigued the mont she saw it.
It’s actually a sci-fi drama.
The script is about a very young and talented scientist who, due to lack of ti with his girlfriend, made a robot to keep her company.
This robot looks just like a human and has many superpower-like abilities to protect the female lead.
At first, the female lead is very resistant and angry, but as they spend more ti together, she surprisingly falls in love with the robot.
When the scientist finds out, he is of course furious and wants to destroy the robot.
The female lead and the robot run away together, but in the end, they can’t escape the scientist’s destruct chip.
The robot dies, and the scientist dismbers it into pieces, smashing it completely.
The heartbroken female lead only manages to retrieve one hand of the robot.
Driven by heartbreak, she decisively breaks up with the scientist and chooses to travel to forget her sorrow.
No one knows how many cities she passed through until she reached a picturesque place, turned a corner, and t a man.
This man looks exactly like her robot...
"Isn’t this script pretty good?" Guagua crossed her arms.
"Hmm, not bad." Nangong Lin nodded, "The plot’s a bit cliché, but adding sci-fi elents makes it quite fun. Is Zheng Huayu playing the robot?"
"It’s not decided yet." Guagua replied, "But he’s definitely going to be in the drama. We’re just waiting for his schedule. Once it’s out, the role will be finalized."
"Hmm, hmm." Nangong Lin nodded, "I’m really looking forward to it."
Guagua frowned and couldn’t help but ask, "Linlin, you don’t actually like Zheng Huayu, do you?"
"I do." Nangong Lin answered quite directly.
"What kind of like?" Guagua curiously and gossipingly asked, "You don’t want to date him, do you? Working together this ti would be a great opportunity!"
