The murmurs from her dream startled Di Mingzhe, who looked at her with delight and asked, "Xiaxia, are you awake? Don’t be afraid, don’t be afraid, your big brother is here. I won’t hurt you anymore. Don’t be scared."
With a sowhat disjointed and anxious tone, he tightly held her hand, but then, he suddenly realised that Di Xiaxia had not awakened.
It was as though she was sleep talking.
Seeing her pale face shaking her head fervently as if she were in a painful nightmare, continuously mumbling ’No, big brother.’
Cold sweat was seeping out from her forehead, causing Di Mingzhe’s heart to ache unbearably.
How had he managed to scare her this much?
What was she dreaming about?
Was he very frightening and ferocious in her dream?
Would she resist him more when she woke up?
Di Mingzhe was gripping her hand tightly, rubbing her hand with his thumb, his heart filled with extre guilt and regret.
He knew he was too impatient.
Why did he insist on sharing a bed with her?
Look at how terrified she was.
And why did he lose his temper at her!
Why lose his temper at all!
Could he not have spoken nicely to her?
Or he could have just told her that he loved her, given her a chance to consider and let the two of them try it out!
Why only consider his own thoughts, thinking that everything would go according to his plan, that she would eventually fall into his trap.
But he forgot, she is not livestock, not so wild creature, she has thoughts and feelings of her own!
So it was not surprising that she misunderstood, that she thought he looked down on her.
And all he did was get angry at her and never explained!
"Xiaxia." Di Mingzhe gentled rubbed the back of her hand, unable to resist gently stamping a kiss onto her lips.
Then he retreated slightly, his lips barely touching hers as he murmured, "Big brother loves you."
But it was a pity that Di Xiaxia could not hear him, she was still stuck in the endless loop of her nightmare, terrified beyond asure.
It was fear from the depths of her soul.
Her body started to shudder uncontrollably, murmuring, "Don’t...don’t co over...leave...get away..."
"Big brother...please...let go...don’t treat this way..."
"Big brother...big brother."
The hand that he held tightly in his was clinging onto Di Mingzhe’s hand as if it were a lifeline.
"Please, let go..."
She was still not awake, still trapped in her nightmare, but the words in her dream caused Di Mingzhe’s heart to ache sharply.
Even though he knew she was dreaming, he still couldn’t help leaning in close to her ear and reassuring her, "It’s okay, big brother won’t hurt you. I’ll go, I’ll leave you alone Xiaxia, don’t be afraid okay?"
"Big brother...I really...I really won’t hurt you."
"Xiaxia, you’re dreaming, wake up quickly!"
"Please don’t hate big brother, alright?"
Of course, Di Xiaxia couldn’t possibly hear what Di Mingzhe was saying, but Di Mingzhe was endlessly repeating these words in her ear, as if he wouldn’t get tired of it.
Sohow, Di Xiaxia gradually grew quiet. Perhaps she heard him, or maybe she hadn’t heard a thing, she had just simply stopped having that nightmare.
But Di Mingzhe’s heart was far from calm. He knew even if Di Xiaxia did not say anything when she woke up the next day, she might already have a subconscious fear of him.

He knew a little about psychology.
It was highly likely.
So he didn’t sleep at all that night, instead spending it watching Di Xiaxia, lost in thought.
He wasn’t sure when Di Xiaxia woke up again. She was likely in a daze, her eyes foggy as she saw the white ceiling when she woke, the scent of dicine filling her nose.
