Her feet in oversized hospital slippers and her right hand tied in a cloth sling against her chest, she truly felt wretched at this point, unattractive, like a clown.
What could she do about it even if her older brother had played her?
Ah, each of the Di Family’s three sons were exceptional, each a brilliant and talented young man, all leading figures in their respective fields.
Compared to such an outstanding family, she felt incredibly diocre!
She hated this feeling of inferiority that weighed heavily on her heart!
Mingzhe was seated in the car. When the vehicle arrived at the entrance of the small hospital, he instinctively turned his head to look outside.
There he saw the slender figure of Xiaxia, looking rather foolish as she stood at the entrance of the hospital corridor.
Her eyes were downcast, seemingly in a state of desolation.
How did she get out?
"Stop the car," Mingzhe ordered. His always calm and steady voice was tinged with urgency.
The car stopped.
Without any hesitation, he swung open the car door and strode out quickly.
Xiaxia was not in the best of moods. With her eyes downcast, she turned around, intending to return to the ward.
Suddenly, a strong arm reached out in front of her, blocking her way forward.
Then she heard Mingzhe’s deep and pleasant voice say with slight repression, "Why did you co out here?"
Xiaxia quickly raised her eyes. His handso face abruptly filled her vision. He was impeccably dressed, and his cool eyes hid traces of urgency. His handso features were so striking that they were almost irresistible.
Xiaxia was taken aback for a mont, but then quickly said, "Nothing much, I just wanted to get so fresh air."
Mingzhe’s eyebrows knitted together. Without saying a word, he picked her up in his arms, very carefully, as if afraid of hurting her injured hand.
He sighed inwardly, "Don’t roam around when you’re not feeling well. Wait for to co back later. I’ll take you out for so fresh air."
Xiaxia remained silent.
Mingzhe didn’t say anything either. Instead, he turned to look at the butler who had followed them, his pitch-black eyes revealing a chilling coldness, accusing the butler of negligence.
The butler shivered, quickly lowered his head, and said, "Sir, as soon as Miss Xiaxia heard you were leaving, she ran out. I, I couldn’t stop her. It seed she had sothing important to say."
Or perhaps she can’t bear to let you go!
Of course, the butler wouldn’t dare to speak that aloud.
Mingzhe’s gaze deepened, and he cast a downward glance at Xiaxia, who remained silent in his arms.
He looked straight ahead, his heart tugged abruptly. Why had she run out so hastily, not caring about her injury? What was so important?
For so reason, Mingzhe’s heart suddenly started pounding. It felt as though sothing was leaping at the base of his heart.
Was it the uncertain yet exhilarating sixth sense, the feeling that love was about to co?
His heartbeat quickened uncontrollably. Thump, thump, thump.
Or maybe was it because he was too eager?
He frowned slightly and suppressed the possibly imaginary expectation in his heart. Eventually, he asked in a low voice, "Do you have sothing important to tell , hmm?"
The word ’hmm’, so deep and stirring, seed to pluck people’s heartstrings.
Xiaxia suddenly looked up at him, and upon seeing his perfectly exquisite face, she quickly dropped her gaze, finally shaking her head faintly. She pursed her lips politely and murmured, "It’s nothing."
Mingzhe’s heart sank. He felt a bit disappointed, but then again, he was relieved. As long as she wasn’t telling him to get lost, to stay away from her world, that was the best!
