Di Xiaxia choked for a while before nodding her head, "Um, alright, I understand. Have you told Dan Lingling that I’m the one?"
"Not yet." Di Mingzhe shook his head. "I didn’t tell her out of fear she might harm you. Trust , my love, soon there will be a grand wedding. Soon, everyone will know that you are my wife."
Di Xiaxia choked even harder, but she couldn’t help but ask, "Could Dan Lingling find out on her own?"
Dan Lingling was the President’s daughter, so she should, in theory, have quite a bit of power and ability. If she knew that Di Mingzhe was getting married, she should be able to find out who it was quite easily, right?
"She can’t," Di Mingzhe calmly replied, "She doesn’t have that ability."
"But the President could find out, right?" Di Xiaxia inquired further. The President would surely help his own daughter check, right?
Di Mingzhe curved his lips upwards. What a curious little girl.
"Don’t worry," Di Mingzhe gently brushed her hair, "He won’t find out anyti soon either. Even if he does, we are legally protected. He has no say in this. My career as Vice President doesn’t give him any jurisdiction over my personal affairs. I am not afraid if he does investigate."
Furthermore, from what I understand about Dan Lingling, she would not tell the President about our marriage, let alone ask him to investigate ."
Di Mingzhe stated with certainty, and indeed this was the case. Dan Lingling was a proud person. Her father had served three terms as President, and this pride was evident in her deanor.
Moreover, if she did tell the President, would they join hands to sabotage his marriage?
Based on what he knew, the President wouldn’t stoop so low.
This was the reason why he had to register their marriage with Di Xiaxia first. Only after matters have been set in stone can reliability be ensured.
By the ti they found out, they could say nothing. Being Vice President was just his job, not his life. He didn’t need to report whom he was marrying.
And as for Di Xiaxia, she had no criminal record and was an excellent law-abiding citizen. There was absolutely no problem with their marriage.
Once he had prepared the wedding and inford everyone, it would be a done deal. By then, who would dare say he couldn’t marry her?

Having listened to Di Mingzhe’s words, Di Xiaxia finally eased her worries. Her heart was filled with gratitude and emotion.
She held Di Mingzhe tightly, her eyes slightly moist. She nodded her head vigorously, grunting her acknowledgent, her eyes filled with unwavering faith and admiration.
What else could she say?
Could she tell him not to sacrifice for her?

"Good girl," Di Mingzhe kissed her, drying her tears, "Go to sleep, it’s late."
"Okay." Di Xiaxia obediently nodded, cuddling into his embrace. She gently closed her eyes, smiling slightly, feeling completely content and joyous.
Di Mingzhe couldn’t help but kiss her lips. She snuggled into his neck like a little kitten.
Di Mingzhe held her close, and for the first ti, felt free of all pressure and burdens. He closed his eyes and the two slept peacefully in each other’s arms.
But Di Xiaxia couldn’t fall asleep at all.
The feelings and emotions that this man had stirred in her were imnse, far beyond her expectations.
