Back in her room, Di Jinxuan couldn’t imdiately fall asleep, so she simply took out her phone to browse through gossip forums.
Suddenly she ca across a post about feng shui predictions, where the poster was boldly foretelling the nation’s fortune.
Curiosity piqued, Di Jinxuan clicked on it. After a quick scan, the post claid there would be turmoil within the nation by the end of this year, and a possible change in Presidency.
Moreover, it said the President’s good fortune would end this year; there might even be terrorist acts within the country and unrest on the borders.
It indeed looked quite convincing. Di Jinxuan couldn’t help but smile in disbelief, then moved on to browse other topics.
After spending quite a while on the gossip posts, she logged out of the forum to prepare for bed, but habit led her to log into her chat application next.
She noticed that Nangong Jin hadn’t replied to her previous ssage. Di Jinxuan was montarily taken aback, slightly furrowing her brows. Could this guy have really gone missing?
She wanted to ask Nangong Ran, but Di Jinxuan thought better of it. It didn’t really matter to her whether he disappeared or not.
If she asked, others might think she had so sort of relationship with him. So it was probably better not to ask.
She glanced through her contacts list. Most of them were offline, yet Di Mingjue’s profile picture was illuminated.
Amongst all the dimd profile pictures, the third young master Di’s profile stood out strikingly.
Could Third Brother still be awake?
Di Jinxuan was sowhat surprised when, right at that mont, Di Mingjue’s profile picture began to flash.
When Di Jinxuan opened it, she saw that Di Mingjue had sent her a ssage.
Duke: Are you still awake?
Xuanxuan the Cutie: Was about to sleep. Third Brother, don’t you sleep in the middle of the night?
Duke: Can’t sleep.
Di Jinxuan almost dropped her phone in surprise. Her third brother can’t sleep?
Wasn’t he supposed to be passionately making out with his wife at this ti? Eh hem.
Xuanxuan the Cutie: Why? Where’s my third sister-in-law?
Duke: Asleep.
Xuanxuan the Cutie: ... You can’t tell that you, old man, can’t sleep because you have sothing on your mind!
Old man?
On the other end of the line, Di Mingjue furrowed his eyebrows, glancing at the sleeping Gu Qibao beside him, and sent a single word in response: Yes.
Di Jinxuan was genuinely shocked. She knew that her third brother rarely chats!
Even more so, he never takes the initiative to chat with soone!
He usually just calls directly if there’s sothing, so there’s no need for him to chat in such a ponderous way.
But now! In the middle of the night when he can’t sleep, he not only frankly admitted he had sothing on his mind but also seed fully prepared to divulge his worries to her, assuming she’d kindly ask, and have a late-night conversation with her till dawn. Damn, had her third brother gone mad!
Panic-stricken, Di Jinxuan quickly asked: Third Brother, what happened to you?
Di Mingjue didn’t answer directly. Instead, he seriously replied: Do you think I’m old?
Di Jinxuan blinked, blinked again, and then blinked again, leaving her utterly dumbfounded in the end.
Xuanxuan the Cutie: So, you stayed up half the night just to ask this question?
Duke: Just answer. Old or not?
Alright then, Di Jinxuan quickly replied: Your question is untechnical! You’re so cool, so aweso, stunning to the limits of the universe. What else do you want?
Duke: Speak in plain terms.
Xuanxuan the Cutie: Not old at all, I swear!!!
Duke: Really?
Xuanxuan the Cutie: Really!
Duke: I am skeptical.
Dammit, Di Jinxuan was speechless. She hurriedly replied: I swear to God you’re not old! Is that okay now?
Duke: Tell the truth.
