Nangong Jin didn’t respond.
Li Hui, with a face full of distrust, continued, "Don’t tell there’s nothing but purity between you two. Honestly, I find that hard to believe. Otherwise, why would Grandpa have been so aggressive towards you in the past, not letting you off the hook no matter where you went?"
Nangong Jin couldn’t help but give Li Hui a sidelong glance. "Mom, Mom, I’m physically disabled now, can I please rest for a while?"
It was obvious he didn’t want to broach the topic.
Li Hui got even more annoyed and punched him in the chest, "Don’t tell you got soone pregnant."
"Pfft..." Nangong Jin almost vomited blood. One, from being hit, and two, from the shock.
"Mom, my dear mom!" Nangong Jin rolled his eyes. "You’re really overthinking it. How could that be? Ten years ago your son was still a pure Little Qingxin! Alright, I’m really tired. I’m going to rest now."
With that, he closed his eyes.
Li Hui was so infuriated she clenched her teeth. Still Little Qingxin, Little Qingxin my ass!
Li Hui exploded furiously, "If you’re Little Qingxin, then I must be Saint Maria! Tell , if it wasn’t for Miao Wu, why would you ’rest from dancing’?"
Nangong Jin kept his eyes closed, clearly ignoring her, evidently not wanting to talk to her.
Li Hui couldn’t help but wave her fist in front of his face but ultimately didn’t have the heart to actually hit him.
As she was about to leave, Li Hui said, "If there’s really sothing that happened between you and Miao Wu, then you better not get involved with Di Jinxuan. Xuanxuan is not soone you can just ss with."
When Li Hui spoke these words, her heart felt sour. She actually really liked Di Jinxuan, but her own son, dammit, might have had a lodramatic youthful blunder.
If that were ever exposed, it would probably be devastating.
After Li Hui left, leaving him alone in the airplane’s rest area, Nangong Jin slowly opened his eyes, his lips curling slightly in a helpless expression, his eyes a bit desolate as he looked at the plane’s ceiling.
The issue of ’resting from dancing’ actually had nothing to do with Miao Wu. As for him and Miao Wu, they were genuinely just good friends.
Just why he couldn’t say it was because he had promised Miao Wu back then that he would take the bla.
He was a man of his word, no matter how others misunderstood or speculated about him, it didn’t matter at all. He never cared about these things.
Li Hui, on the other hand, was furiously upset, venting her spleen at Nangong Tiancheng, "Just look, look at the fine son you’ve raised."
Nangong Tiancheng was completely baffled. "What does that have to do with ?"
"How could it not involve you!" Li Hui snapped at Nangong Tiancheng furiously.
Nangong Tiancheng felt helpless and just had to pull her into his arms to console her, "Children have their own luck. Why are you causing yourself so much trouble here? Who Xiaojin likes, whether he can pursue them, when he will marry, all these are not within our control. There’s no use fretting over it; just take it slow."
Li Hui sighed deeply, sounding distressed, "But I really do like Xuanxuan."
She had always liked Di Jinxuan, but there was a bit of an age gap with Nangong Jin. Previously, she had even joked about having Fang Hao give her as a daughter-in-law.
But, that was just a jest, after all.
Now, the situation was different.
His son had taken the initiative and ntioned Di Jinxuan. How could she not like her, how could she not hope!
If Nangong Jin truly liked Di Jinxuan, she swore, really, such a wonderful girl, she would definitely wed her into the family in grand style and take very good care of her.
