William felt nothing from the being that held his father.

No aura.

No surge of power.

No pressure leaking into the surroundings.

And yet, the mont William laid eyes on it, he understood sothing was deeply wrong.

Unlike the red devil from earlier, this creature radiated no presence at all. The red devil had been loud with power. Its energy spilled outward like flas from a furnace.

But this being...

It was silent.

Completely cloaked in darkness, its form barely distinguishable from the shadows surrounding it. Only two narrow eyes could be seen clearly, fixed on William with cold scrutiny.

Despite the lack of aura, the effect it had on the environnt spoke for itself.

The Death Sink behind it pulsed irregularly.

Its swirling surface trembled as if reacting to the creature’s re existence.

That alone made it clear.

This foe was strong.

Very strong.

Yet William’s focus was not on the monster.

His gaze was locked on the man it held.

His father.

The sight made sothing twist inside William’s chest.

His father’s left arm was gone.

The sleeve hung empty, soaked dark where blood had once flowed. His face had turned pale, almost lifeless, and his breathing was shallow and uneven.

For a mont, William simply stared.

Then a quiet wave of relief passed through him.

The old man was still alive.

Barely, but alive.

William slowly exhaled, forcing his thoughts to settle.

He had to deal with the monster first.

Only then could he safely bring his father away.

The creature suddenly spoke.

"You know, nothing you would do could make release him."

Its voice was deep and rough, like stone grinding against stone.

"So spare from needless attempts and let him out."

William’s eyes narrowed.

"Let who out?"

The being’s gaze sharpened.

Then it snarled.

"The one hiding behind you."

Its voice grew colder.

"The creature who deserves to be crushed."

William instinctively glanced behind him.

Lamb was still there.

Floating quietly at the side, exactly where he had been earlier.

His small body hovered calmly in the air, expression empty, eyes dull as if nothing in the world concerned him.

Then Lamb spoke.

"If you allowed to take over now... this might change everything."

His tone remained as flat as ever.

"He is trying to convince his allies that I am alive and live inside you."

There was no urgency in his voice. No fear despite the situation scread sothing else.

"Make your choice wisely."

William felt his heart sink.

So that was the situation.

Whoever this devil was, it clearly held a significant position in the underworld. The kind of existence that could command attention and rally others with just a claim.

And now it was trying to spread the idea that Lamb still lived... inside him.

William slowly raised his hand.

Nyx gathered in his palm.

Dark energy condensed into a dense sphere, shrinking and compressing until it ford a small, trembling drop.

A Droplet of Oblivion.

"I don’t know what you are talking about," William said coldly.

His eyes remained fixed on the creature.

"Just give my father back."

The devil did not move.

Its eyes remained narrowed, studying him as if waiting for sothing.

William’s patience snapped.

"Your wish."

With a flick of his hand, he fired the Droplet straight toward the devil.

At the sa ti, his body shifted slightly, preparing to move in and snatch his father away the mont the explosion cleared the space.

But then sothing strange happened.

The Droplet did not explode.

It did not expand.

It simply flew straight toward the devil...

And vanished.

The dark mass was absorbed directly into the creature’s body.

Just like that.

William’s most explosive spell disappeared without even producing a spark.

Consud. Rendered completely useless.

William did not stop.

The mont his first spell was swallowed, he launched another attack.

"Cleave."

A sharp arc of compressed force tore through the air and rushed toward the devil. The attack cut through the space between them like a blade ant to split the island itself.

But the devil simply raised one arm.

With a casual motion, it swatted the attack aside.

The cleaving force was deflected and slamd into the scorched land nearby. The ground split open with a deep crack, a long gash tearing through the blackened soil.

Yet the devil remained untouched.

William clenched his teeth.

That strike had never been ant for the land.

Without hesitation, he expanded his telekinetic arms. Invisible force surged outward from him, stretching toward the devil like massive phantom limbs ready to seize and crush.

He prepared to strike.

Then the world vanished.

One mont the battlefield stood before him.

The next mont, everything disappeared.

The sky, the trees, the broken ground, the devil, even his father.

All of it was gone.

Only blankness remained.

William froze mid movent.

Endless emptiness stretched in every direction. There was no light, no sound, no sense of distance. It felt as if the world itself had been erased.

William looked around, his mind racing.

What was this?

’This is a Void.’

Lamb answered imdiately, his voice reaching William through telepathy.

’Sothing only a high grade, experienced devil could conjure.’

William’s jaw tightened.

So that creature was capable of sothing like this.

He quickly asked, ’How do I get out?’

There was a brief pause.

Then Lamb replied.

’You can’t... not with your current self.’

William’s eyes widened slightly.

Then anger surged through him.

"Like hell!"

He raised both hands.

Nyx gathered violently around him as several Droplets of Oblivion ford at once. Dark spheres trembled with unstable energy before shooting outward in every direction.

If he could not see the enemy, then he would simply flood the entire space with destruction.

One of them had to hit.

One of them had to injure that bastard.

He could not waste ti here.

Every second lost reduced the chances of saving his father.

The droplets streaked across the empty void.

Then they disappeared.

No explosion.

No flash.

Not even a spark.

It was as if his attacks had never existed at all.

William grew restless.

His mind raced as he searched for a way to tear apart this endless darkness. There had to be a thod, so weakness hidden within this strange domain.

Or...

Should he let Lamb take over?

The thought lingered longer than he liked.

If Lamb took control, the situation might change instantly. The devil itself had already hinted at Lamb’s significance. Whatever Lamb truly was, even the devils feared him.

William paused.

His fists slowly tightened.

Just as he was about to make the decision, sothing shifted.

The darkness trembled.

Then it faded.

The empty void peeled away like mist under sunlight, and the world returned.

William found himself standing once again in the scorched forest. The burnt trees, the torn ground, the lingering smoke from earlier attacks, all of it returned at once.

The devil was still there.

And so was his father.

The old man remained trapped in the creature’s grasp, his body weak and breathing uneven.

William wanted to rush forward but then he noticed sothing strange.

Soone new had appeared.

A woman stood between him and the devil.

He recognized her instantly.

Even without seeing her face he could tell who it was.

That presence.

And that wide sumr hat resting on her head.

"You..."

William’s voice ca out low.

It was the sa strange woman who had attacked them after his battle with Talobo.

Back then she had appeared suddenly, overwhelming him with abilities he could barely understand. And before leaving, she had declared sothing strange.

That she was destined to die by his hand.

"You didn’t forget ~ how romantic."

The woman spoke lightly.

Her tone carried amusent, and even without seeing her face, William could tell she was smiling.

Of course he hadn’t forgotten her.

After regaining his powers, she had been the first person to make him feel powerless again.

Back then, every skill he tried to use simply failed.

His spells dissolved before forming.

She had suppressed him completely through so form of sorcery he still could not fully understand.

And now she stood here again.

Her back faced William.

Her body remained tense as she confronted the devil directly.

The devil’s eyes narrowed.

"You are blessed by one of us."

Its voice carried clear hostility now.

"Why are you taking his side?"

The woman’s smile seed to grow wider.

"Because I can’t have him hard," she said casually.

Her voice held a playful tone that felt strangely out of place in this battlefield.

"Not until he fulfills the promise he made to ."

William frowned.

So this woman had not appeared to complicate things.

She was protecting him...

So he could kill her later? What kind of twisted triangle is this?

The devil’s expression darkened.

"Move, woman," it snarled. "Or you will regret ever coming across ."

The woman, however, raised her hand and said, "I will take the hostage away first."

William flinched as he raised his eyes and looked at his father.

The devil moved, his darkness seeped towards Carter, whether to strengthen the defense or just...end him, William couldn’t tell.

However, suddenly the woman snapped her fingers and in the next instance, close to William was the Devil and across from them beside Carter was the woman.

She just swapped their positions.

The devil reacted faster than William and charged at the woman.

The lady, though, remained calm and teleported away—appearing right beside William and handing Carter to him

The Devil spun on his heel and glared at the woman.

Suddenly several tendrils shot from the ground, all aid to restrain the three but the woman tapped her foot lightly on the ground and all the tendrils turned into lifeless worms, completely ineffective.

She then turned to William and hurriedly spoke, "Take him away, I will keep this thing busy."

William’s lips parted...he wanted to ask sothing but then, looking at his father’s condition, he stopped him.

His father held priority now.
