Luis imdiately adopted a cautious tone and said, "By the way, Uncle Waller, about this matter, could you do a favor and not ntion it to President Ye? Let’s keep it from him."
"Is that... appropriate?"
Despite feeling intrigued by the idea, Waller still wore a hesitant expression.
His thought process was actually quite straightforward. Given his professional competence, he rarely made significant mistakes in his work. Even if errors occurred, they were undoubtedly due to unforeseen circumstances beyond anyone’s control.
A high-ranking figure like Sebastian Ye was exceptionally perceptive, so Waller never worried excessively about work matters, always handling them with confidence.
But this situation was different. Having worked for Sebastian Ye for so long, this was the first ti he had been entrusted with a personal matter. If he couldn’t handle a private affair properly, it would purely reflect on his capabilities.
"Definitely don’t tell him," Luis insisted imdiately. "He’s busy right now, so it’s better not to distract him. Besides, if he finds out, he’ll definitely start overthinking things."
"And honestly, this is just a minor superficial injury. To put it bluntly, if I’d arrived at the hospital any later, it would have healed on its own."
"I’m a grown man, not made of paper. There’s no need to make such a big fuss. The injuries I got from playing soccer back in the day were all worse than this."
Having heard Luis speak to this extent, Waller finally nodded and said, "Alright then. But since you’re injured, we should at least address the situation properly."
At that mont, Secretary Hail walked in after finishing his phone call and said softly, "Sir, the schedule is very tight. It’s almost ti to depart for the inspection..."
"Uncle Waller, please go ahead with your work. I’ll be fine here," Luis assured him.
Waller was indeed very busy. After a mont’s thought, he instructed his secretary, "Xiao Zhao, you stay here. See him ho later and find out exactly what happened. Report back to this afternoon."
"Understood!" Secretary Hail acknowledged, and Waller left with his driver.
Hail was a very refined man. He smiled, fetched a disposable paper cup, poured so water, placed it on the table, and casually closed the ward door.
"Luis, I recall you smoke. This is a private room; you can sneak a cigarette if you like," he said.
Then he sat down nearby, picked up a pen and notepad, and smiled. "My na is Hail. I’m your Uncle Waller’s secretary. I’m a few years older than you, so if you don’t mind, you can call Brother Zhao."
He didn’t resort to excessive humility or self-deprecation here. His gentle and soft-spoken manner was quite pleasant.
Luis had been navigating society for a long ti. While he wouldn’t claim vast worldly experience, he had certainly encountered all sorts of people.
Individuals like Hail had a way of making you feel very comfortable when they spoke and acted—friendly yet maintaining just the right amount of distance.

Luis replied very politely, "Hello, Brother Zhao!"
Hail nodded, twirling his pen with a smile. "Luis, we are aware of your situation because President Leon called and inford us."
"However, she wasn’t very specific, and our understanding remains rather vague. So we’d like to verify with you exactly what transpired."
"Last night, well, here’s what happened..."
Luis recounted the general sequence of events. There was nothing he needed to hide, and inwardly, he felt certain about one thing.
The boss’s wife, Bella, must have been deliberately vague. Judging by her actions, she likely intended to blow this incident out of proportion to thoroughly teach Dominic a lesson.
"The drug... do you know what kind of drug it was?" Hail asked, his eyes narrowing slightly.
"No idea. Anyway, my little sister had her stomach pumped here last night. They said it resembled hallucinations caused by food poisoning, but I don’t know the specifics," Luis replied.
Hail seed lost in thought, yet maintained his amiable smile. His expression gave almost no hint of his emotions or what he was truly thinking.
As he jotted things down, he inquired, "It appears President Leon didn’t contact the police, and you haven’t either?"
"No. Thought it better to avoid trouble. Besides, that family has money and influence..." Luis began.
Before he could finish, he caught a faint flicker of disdain on Hail’s face, clearly indicating he didn’t hold the Taiga family’s so-called power and prestige in high regard.
Just as Luis was about to ask what steps should be taken next, the ward door was suddenly kicked open with a loud crash, startling both n inside.
The person who burst in was none other than David, his face bruised and swollen, features contorted with rage. He brandished a baseball bat, a nacing smirk on his face.
"Found you at last, you bastard!!" David snarled. "You made search all over! You think just because you went to my dad, you can stop ? The security at City Center Garden is already posted there. Did you really think I’m that stupid?"
Luis imdiately stood up, discreetly removing the IV needle and adjusting the indwelling catheter.
"Listen, you little punk," Luis said coldly. "Are you really trying to start trouble in a hospital?"
David had brought the sa blond-haired lackey from the previous night. The lackey slipped in, grinning, and leaned against the door, clearly blocking the exit.
The blond guy’s face was flushed with an unnatural redness, the kind that cos from being overly excited and agitated. His slight trembling and jittery deanor seed rather peculiar.
David chuckled arrogantly, waving the baseball bat. "It’s simple. If I don’t break one of your legs, how am I supposed to maintain my reputation?"
"Your choice: a broken leg, or I let so blood out of you. Either way, the ergency room is conveniently right here."
As he spoke, the blond lackey pulled out a switchblade, flicked it open with a flashy gesture, and handed it to David, who in turn passed the baseball bat back to him.
Hail rose to his feet, his expression dark. "You scoundrel! Causing a disturbance in a hospital? You have absolutely no respect for the law!"
David shot him a contemptuous glare. "Who the hell are you, you old fool? Daring to stick your nose into my business? You looking to die?"
"Get the hell out of my way, or I’ll stab you along with him!"
With that, David advanced aggressively, gripping the switchblade tightly, his face a mask of vicious intent.
Hail was livid, his face turning ashen. He imdiately pulled out his phone, his expression stern. "Fine! Utterly lawless! Even the thugs and bandits of the past weren’t this brazen!"
"I’d certainly like to ask Dominic exactly how he raised his son. Truly a masterclass in parenting!"
Hearing this, David’s face clearly showed a flash of panic. But seeing Hail start to dial, he lunged forward in a fluster and threw a punch.
Hail hadn’t expected him to actually resort to violence. Caught off guard, his phone was knocked flying, and it seed the call had connected—faint, urgent "Hello? Hello?" sounds could be heard from it.
As Hail moved to retrieve the phone, David stepped in front of him, brandishing the knife, his eyes blazing. "Stay put, old man! I warned you! Make another move and I’ll stab you too! I won’t show rcy even to the King of Heaven himself!"
"You!!" Hail, a scholarly man whose presence might normally intimidate common thugs, found himself sowhat powerless against this spoiled rich heir.
