"I'll ask if he's free."
Lily thought for a long ti. Refusing again would seem a bit odd, so she just gave a perfunctory reply.
Over on his end, Luis received a call that gave him a slight headache. It was from Dominic, wanting to apologize to him in person about the incident with his son.
After all, David had pulled a knife. Even though Luis wasn't hurt, he was definitely frightened. As the father, he naturally had to show so gesture.
It wasn't that he had much of a conscience, but rather that Hail was putting imnse pressure on him. Now, even if he and the Leon family joined forces, they wouldn't gain much advantage.
With the asset liquidation underway, every single person in the Taiga and Leon families had to consider their own interests. Dominic felt he should extract himself from the quagmire of the Leon family's internal strife and avoid being dragged down with them.
"Not free!"
Luis refused outright.
Unexpectedly, it was Bella who called next. Her voice on the phone was very intimate. "Luis, you should take this chance to squeeze Dominic dry, make him bleed properly."
"President Ye, planning to use soone else's knife again?"
Luis was just as blunt with her.
Bella hurriedly said, "I wouldn't dare. I just think that wastrel David went too far. They need to be taught a lesson."
David was currently still hospitalized at City First Hospital. Dominic was deeply troubled by this son, embroiled in heated argunts over whether to send him to rehab first or to the psychiatric hospital for treatnt.
It was said David's biological mother had rushed back from Japan, and with the other children from outside marriages starting to make moves, the pressure was more than most could bear.
"Want to have so fun with David's birth mother, Dominic's ex-wife?"
Bella suddenly said this, leaving Luis montarily stunned. What was this scheming lesbian up to?
Hearing Luis fall silent, Bella chuckled. "She's already back ho. She's taking care of David right now, staying at Dominic's place."
"You're the legitimate wife. Could it be you're jealous?"
Luis asked teasingly.
"Jealous?? As if Dominic deserves that."
Bella laughed coyly. "I just thought you might still be seething, so I'm offering you an alternative."
"Heh, you're truly wicked. My interest in his mother isn't that high. My interest in you is far greater."
Their relationship was relatively close now, so Bella didn't get angry at such teasing; it even felt like a joke to her.
Luis pondered internally about that Ti Stopper. Should he consider using it on this lesbian? Otherwise, the initial mission line on her side had shown no progress.
Ding… Using the Ti Stopper to complete a mission is considered cheating. The mission line will be canceled imdiately!!
Right. Of course, a function that overpowered couldn't be used directly. Otherwise, many missions could be finished instantly.
Luis couldn't be bothered with that matter anymore, because he suddenly got an angry call from his Mother-in-law. "Son-in-law, where are you??"
"Mom, what's wrong?"
"What's wrong? Your mother's being bullied, in our building's garage."
Luis rushed back to Central Garden imdiately. Arriving at the underground garage, his anger flared up instantly.
Their family had bought three parking spots, though they only had two cars currently. This was to make it easier for the less skilled female drivers to park. Clear "Private Parking" signs were hung above their spots.
Right now, a small sedan was parked there, parked sideways, occupying all three spots. This was blatant provocation.
Suppressing his fury, Luis asked, "Mom, what happened? Where are the property managent people? Can't they see this?"
"It's the property managent's doing."
Ruth said, fuming with rage. "I parked my car outside. I just went to ask the property office, and those bastards' attitudes have completely changed."
"Mom, calm down. Tell slowly."
Luis stepped forward and took her hand.
Ruth felt a little embarrassed, but still docilely went ho with her son-in-law.
Back ho, Luis poured her a cup of tea. Ruth was so angry, she started talking while sipping her tea.
"I called the number to move the car, but no one answered. I went to the property office, and they actually told the security caras were broken, the person in charge was out, and they couldn't contact the car owner."
"But I asked around. That car belongs to the property manager, Aunt Kiara."
Hearing this, Luis's brow instantly furrowed. Leaving aside other things, his Mother-in-law had fairly good interpersonal relationships here and usually got along well with the property managent.
Especially that Aunt Kiara, who was also one of his Mother-in-law's card partners. Had they sohow offended her recently? Why this sudden, drastic change?
The property office itself had equipnt for moving vehicles, offering a service to move cars illegally parked in private spots. Yet they claid the equipnt had just been loaned out.
What a coincidence. It was clearly deliberate targeting.
"I called that bitch. She didn't answer either, dammit."
His Mother-in-law was so angry she cursed. She'd been bullied right at her doorstep. After all, these were old neighbors she saw all the ti. Being seen like this would be a huge loss of face.
"Mom, this is easy to solve."
Luis sneered coldly, thinking how childish this was. These petty matters mattered for saving face, but they weren't unsolvable problems.
He didn't even need to call anyone for help. Luis simply drove the Benz into the underground garage. He tied a proper tow rope himself—basic stuff for an auto chanic.
"I saw the handbrake is on. Can you still tow it like that?"
Sitting in the passenger seat, his Mother-in-law wasn't worried at all. On the contrary, she was sowhat excited.
His Mother-in-law was no pushover. Bullied like this, she wasn't about to just take it. Right now, she was more itching for action, feeling a thrill.
"It'll tow. Her car will just be a lot more troubleso to fix later."
Luis gave a sinister smile, fastened the rope, then suddenly slamd on the gas in a low gear. The car jerked forward violently with a strong lurch.
Ruth rolled down the window and looked back. She saw the sedan's front end being dragged and twisted around, its locked wheels scraping dark tire marks on the ground.
With a screech, the Benz forcibly dragged the small sedan out of the parking spot and drove straight out.
"Good!"
Ruth cheered excitedly, her eyes shining as she asked, "Son-in-law, where are we taking it?"
"Whoever wants to ss with us, we'll make sure they lose face too."
