Ti ticked by quickly, and by the ti dusk approached, Nightengale had massively transford.

The ancient city that housed the vampires normally cloaked in quiet elegance and asured restraint, now thrumd with anticipation.

Black stone towers were draped in ceremonial banners of crimson and silver, each bearing the sigils of the great Houses. Floating witchlights ignited one by one along the grand avenues, casting a deep violet glow that reflected off obsidian streets and stained-glass windows.

Everyone was eager, knowing that the Demon King they’d heard so much about would be introducing himself to them Officially. They had heard all of his great deeds, taking down and capturing a Hero, and now he’d show himself to them fully.

~RING~RING~RING!~

The bells around the city began to ring.

Their sound rolled through the city like a heartbeat, echoing from spire to spire, summoning every vampire who could walk, fly, or be carried. From nobles in gilded carriages to common citizens lining the avenues, all movent slowly oriented toward a single place.

The Crimson Court.

The vast amphitheater-palace rose at the city’s center like a crown carved from night itself. Its terraces spiraled upward, layered with balconies and elevated platforms reserved for elders, clan leaders, and ancient bloodlines.

At ground level, the Grand Dais awaited, an open expanse of polished black stone veined with red crystal, humming faintly with old magic.

Jax stood alone in the antechamber behind the dais, finishing the final adjustnts to his attire.

He wore black, a deep, light-devouring shade favored by rulers and executioners alike. His coat was long and tailored, embroidered subtly with crimson thread that pulsed faintly when he moved.

The cut emphasized his broad shoulders and lean, powerful fra without ostentation. At his throat rested no crown, no sigil of Nightengale.

Only a single, understated emblem.

The mark of the Demon King, signified by the Triple Colored Crown for the Blessing of the Three Demon Goddesses.

The palace itself reacted to him at the sa ti.

Servants moved quietly, instinctively keeping distance out of nervousness.

A herald approached, visibly tense, "My lord... Her Grace, Miss Nulissa will arrive shortly."

Jax nodded once. He didn’t need to pace or even rehearse as this wasn’t a test. It was a fact being revealed.

The mont Nulissa stepped onto the upper balcony, the court fell silent.

She erged in full regalia, no longer wrapped in silk intimacy, but clad in authority. Her gown was a masterpiece of vampiric craftsmanship: deep crimson layered over black, slit elegantly to allow movent, the fabric alive with subtle enchantnts.

Her Vampiric Blood Crown rested lightly upon her head, forged of dark silver and blood-crystal, its design sharp and unapologetic.

She did not look nervous unlike other tis Jax had seen her. She looked resolved. As she descended the steps toward the dais, every vampire bowed, so smoothly, others stiffly, a few with barely concealed reluctance. She noticed all of it. Filed every reaction away.

Then she reached the center.

The bells ceased ringing and Nulissa turned, her voice amplified not by magic alone, but by presence.

"People of Nightengale," she began, her tone calm, resonant, unmistakably regal. "Children of the Night. Elders of Blood. Houses ancient and new."

She let her gaze sweep the amphitheater.

"This city has endured centuries of careful balance," she continued. "And in that balance, too many have mistaken patience for weakness. Silence for consent. Tradition for entitlent."

Several influential clan leaders stiffened.

Nulissa lifted her chin.

"That ends tonight."

A murmur rose, quickly silenced when she raised a single hand.

"I will not be bartered. I will not be cornered. And I will not allow my throne to be treated as a bargaining chip by those who fear a Queen who chooses for herself."

Then, without looking back, she extended her hand.

"Co."

Jax stepped forward and everyone held their breath as Jax’s imnsely powerful presence washed over the court. Everyone recognizing the Demon King.

He moved with unhurried confidence, boots striking stone in steady rhythm, golden eyes scanning the assembly with calm appraisal.

He stopped at her side, taller by far, yet sohow not overshadowing her. When their hands t, the connection was undeniable, power recognizing power.

Nulissa smiled, "Tonight," she announced, "I introduce the one I have chosen to stand beside ."

She turned slightly, looking up at him,not as a ruler presenting a tool, but as a woman presenting her equal.

"This is Jax."

A beat of silence echoed out before she continued her statent.

"The Demon King."

The court erupted. Cheers burst from the lower tiers, young vampires, soldiers, citizens unburdened by centuries of political scheming. Awe and excitent crackled through them, voices rising in celebration.

But higher up, it was dead silent.

The elders.

The great Houses.

Those who had been certain they still had ti.

So stared in shock. Others in fury thinly veiled by decorum. More than a few realized, in that exact mont, that their plans had just died. They were shocked Nulissa managed to enter a relationship with the Demon King in such a short period of ti.

Nulissa wasn’t finished.

"He is not here as an emissary," she said coolly. "Nor as a weapon to be borrowed."

Her fingers tightened around his.

"He stands beside as my partner."

The word struck harder than any spell.

"By my will. By my choice."

Jax spoke then, his voice carrying easily across the vast court without raising it.

"I have no interest in ruling Nightengale," he said plainly. "Nor in reshaping it to suit my desires. Just because I’m the Demon King doesn’t an I need to terrorize the citizens of my Kingdom,"

A few tense shoulders eased.

"But understand this," he continued, golden eyes sharpening and unleashing a vast amount of pressure, "I will not tolerate attempts to undermine her rule. Nor sches dressed as tradition."

He paused, letting the silence stretch.

"If you celebrate her strength, you have my respect. If you challenge her authority..."

A faint smile curved his lips.

"...you’ll find out very quickly why the title Demon King is not ceremonial."
