Nia frowned, her expression darkening. "No, I know exactly where he is and what he is doing. Listen, would you be fine staying alone tonight? The Alpha specifically asked that I stay with you for protection but you could just lock all the doors and windows."

I walked slowly back to my room, my mind racing.

I had originally picked this outfit to wear on my wedding night with whoever I eventually married, but well, this counted too in a twisted way.

I sat down at my vanity and carefully packed my hair up, looking at my reflection in the mirror and just staring at myself, taking in every detail of my face without really processing anything.

Then the door was knocked on gently and my breath imdiately hitched in my throat.

I stood up slowly, taking in a deep breath and exhaling it carefully, wiping my already sweaty palms on my silky robe. I moved toward the door and sohow my legs were shaking slightly but I managed to reach the knob.

I pulled it open to reveal Ryker leaning casually against the door fra and Rowan standing straight beside him with both hands in his pockets.

Both of them were wearing matching black sweatpants and black long-sleeved shirts that hugged their muscular fras perfectly.

I was not entirely sure if I was supposed to trail after them imdiately or wait, but they had said five minutes so I decided to give them space.

I slipped on my comfortable flip-flops and paced nervously toward the garage using the service entrance that Nia had shown weeks ago when she was giving a tour.

I lifted the soft fabric and slipped it over my head carefully, adjusting it over my eyes until everything went dark.
