"His mate would be arriving soon," Rowan had inford so hours earlier.
"Then I wouldn’t be here when she does, I don’t even want to see her." I responded, picking up my jacket and the black keycards for exclusive club.
"Going to the club again?" Rowan frowned, he didn’t approve of my idea of fun.
Rowan and I, though we were identical, couldn’t be more different than one another. He was the golden boy of the family. Graduated with honors in business from an Ivy League. Is hands on with pack affairs. Engaged to the daughter of another pack Alpha. Although I think she is a bratty whore but his choice, not mine.
The point is, Rowan has his shit together. Whereas , the black sheep of the family. Dropped out of college, constantly spend ti partying, have the reputation of the fuck boy who constantly get into fights at bars and hate his father.
Rowan didn’t also get along with my father, but he tolerated him. He hardly challenged his questionable decision and wouldn’t argue back but he had his grievance.
I, on the other hand, didn’t hide how I felt. Been kicked out of pack etings from being ’rebellious’ and wouldn’t fuck with that old man even if he was dying with minutes left to live and I was the only one who could save him.
He could rot in hell for all I care.
"Please save your sermon for when I actually care," I responded, already making my way to the door.
"I am not going to bail your sorry ass if you get into another fight Ryker, I an it,"
But he didn’t an it. He had co to bail my sorry ass right before dawn after I had gotten into a fight with so dude because his girlfriend had wanted to leave with .

Rowan spent the whole drive back to the pack house lecturing about responsibility and so bullshit about ruining my life because I refuse to ’let go of the hate’
Whatever that ant, I didn’t give him a courtesy of a response. We were barely in our room when our wolves went full on crazy. It was bizarre, unlike anything that had ever happened to us. It was like they had taken control of our bodies and we were re spectators.
That was when we found ourselves in her room, they wanted her. Touched her. Caressed her, they wanted to have her. We couldn’t stop them and we realized.
This was our mate.
When the sun began to rise we had gained so semblance of control and left her without not so much damage done. We knew we were fucked when our father introduced her as the one he was to be mated to.
Rowan and I had pretended it had not happened. But now seated here with her, we knew there was no hiding, she was our mate.
Our wolves were already trying to pull that shit they did earlier on but this ti we had the upper hand but they were whimpering inside wanting a taste of her. A taste of the woman my father was to be mated to.
She was not what I expected. She stood there in a small floral dress with her hair pinned back and her hands doing this barely noticeable trembling thing at her sides that she was clearly hoping nobody caught. I caught it.
Her eyes were what got . Amber, shifting depending on where the light landed, and when they found mine there was sothing moving behind them she was scrambling to keep locked down. She looked away first and I watched her jaw tighten slightly with the effort of it.
She was soft in a way that had nothing to do with her weakness and everything to do with soone who had spent a long ti absorbing damage quietly and keeping it moving. I recognized that. I didn’t want to recognize it. I didn’t want to have any feelings about her at all.
"Ryker give her a break," Rowan the ever night and shining armor ca to her defense as she crumbled back to her seat.
"Why should I?" I smirked at her, "Tell Amaris, how do you plan to do it? Would you fuck my dad first then fuck us later. Tell us your schedule,"
Her eyes welled up with tears, she was fighting so hard to hold it back, I didn’t expect such a cry baby for a mate, the moon goddess really had a sense of irony I must say.
"I... I don’t know... I am sorry," she stuttered.
"Ryker, leave her alone, clearly she is as clueless about all this as we are," Rowan defended again. I wonder when he would let go of his savior complex.
He leaned forward staring at her with a pitiful glance, I almost thought he would reach out to her and hold her in a tight embrance but he didn’t.
"Here’s what we would do, we would reject her Ryker and save ourselves from any future complications, is that okay with you Amaris?" He asked.
She nodded, "Yes... but I heard it hurt,"
"Well," he bit his lips slightly, "It does especially for the she wolf but I am sure your wolf is strong isn’t she?"
"I.. I don’t know," she muttered, I leaned back deciding to watch how this interaction unfolded between them. "My wolf had been dormant all my life," she replied, twirling her fingers.
"That’s an issue, but I am sure it won’t be as bad as what would happen if the Alpha finds out about this. So it is a risk we must take," he veered to face . "What do you think Ryker, we should get this over with as soon as possible,"
I grinned right before I stood up and I gave Rowan a quick glance then veered to fix my gaze on her, looking at those amber eyes of hers. Those eyes which were pulling in but I refuse to drown in them.
"I have no intention of rejecting her," I started and with a smirk I added. "I would like to see how this plays out, who knows Amaris might be not be as innocent as she appears"
