Chapter 1214: Control

‘How?’ Anthony thought to himself as his regeneration kicked in, the ability requiring no Mana at all to function, as it was a passive ability like the rest. Within a couple of seconds, Anthony was back to full health as though he had never been injured.

‘How did they bypass Infinity?’ Anthony wondered. He didn’t move. He simply stared at the four people surrounding him with an amused smile.

“It seems you’ve finally taken a hit. But it seems you even possess regeneration among your list of abilities that don’t require Origin Essence. You are just too interesting, Human,” the Asura stated as he crossed his arms over his chest and nodded.

At this moment, if there was anyone who liked Anthony the most, it was the broad man from the Asura Race. They were a race of bat, battle, blood, and nothing else. Seeing Anthony survive this long without being defeated by them only made the Asura admire him even more. To the Asura, Anthony was the perfect addition to their ranks, and everyone would wele him with open arms once they witnessed his basic foundation, which was even more solid than that of many geniuses from the Upper Galaxy.

‘I see,’ Anthony thought to himself.

Due to the speed of the attack and the heat of the moment, Anthony had missed a detail earlier. But now, he remembered it, his ridiculous memory and intelligence replaying everything he had witnessed.

From the earlier conversation between his four enemies, Anthony had e to understand that the unknown energy of the Upper Galaxy was called Origin Essence. At this moment, his All Seeing Eyes showed him that the Yaksha from earlier had enhanced his kick with Origin Essence, thereby bypassing Infinity pletely.

It had to be understood that they didn’t need to augment their bodies with Origin Essence to surpass Anthony’s speed or strength. That much, they could acplish effortlessly, and Anthony wouldn’t even be able to perceive them. But that kick had been enhanced because Origin Essence seemed to be one of the things capable of bypassing Infinity among the numerous skills in their arsenal.

With Anthony’s All Seeing Eyes, he read the flow of the Origin Essence, deciphered its distribution, its control, its layering, and its method of augmentation. Not only that, but with his Thought partment ability processing everything millions of times over within his mind… Anthony finally acplished the impossible.

While the four races were still discussing and paring Anthony to the other Ascendants, Anthony slowly raised his hand. In that instant, a purple glow cloaked his hand. It flowed upward before enveloping his entire body.

The Asura, Rakshasa, Yaksha, and Garuda stood in utter shock, their discussion dying out as they watched the impossible unfold right before their eyes.

In less than an hour of arriving in the Upper Galaxy, and after ing into contact with Origin Essence only once, Anthony had already attained control far beyond the novice level. It was something none of them could remember ever witnessing.

“What kind of insanity is this?” the Garuda was the first to speak as she frowned.

“We have to end this swiftly. It seems that if we play around too much, we might end up helping him grow instead of making him serve our clans,” the Yaksha stated in a low tone, his hand moving toward the sabre hanging from his waist.

“Nobody is taking this Ascendant from the Asura Clan. We can’t afford to lose such a genius,” the Asura man declared.

“In your dreams,” the Rakshasa replied with a click of his tongue.

The Yaksha vanished from where he stood, his steps utterly silent, the wind barely noticing his movement… or rather, it noticed but simply didn’t betray his presence. Without missing a beat, he slashed toward Anthony’s shoulder with calm precision. But Anthony was already on the move, as Mind Calculation had remained active the entire time. He unsheathed his katana and attempted to coat it with Origin Essence, but his control was still sluggish due to having only just learned to manipulate it.

With a thunderous impact, the two blades collided like dying stars crashing into one another. pressed concentric rings of wind exploded outward as devastating shockwaves rippled through the surroundings.

Anthony and the Yaksha weren’t equals. They could never be, regardless of how heaven-defying Anthony’s talent might have been.

Anthony’s body was hurled backward like a cannonball, tearing through yet another series of mountains. Despite enhancing his body with Origin Essence while the Yaksha relied solely on his natural physical attributes, Anthony still lost the head-on confrontation.

Anthony had never expected to win in a head-on clash. That would have been nothing more than wishful thinking. But this time, he hadn’t sustained any major injuries. Although his body ached from blocking the attack, progress had undeniably been made.

Anthony’s Sense Dome screamed as it detected an arrow streaking toward him at an absurd speed. The Garuda had fired it from over a kilometer away. Anthony didn’t attempt to dodge. Instead, he simply channeled his Origin Essence into Infinity, strengthening it.

The speed of the arrow plummeted in real time, slowing until it came to a halt barely a meter away from Anthony’s lungs. Infinity hadn’t been able to stop the arrow instantly as it usually did, but that was understandable. Anthony’s control over Origin Essence was still crude for now, and that was perfectly acceptable.

Anthony vanished from where he stood and immediately resumed running. His newfound ability to manipulate Origin Essence didn’t give him any foolish ideas that he could suddenly contend with these beings, who were probably not even using more than five or ten percent of their true strength, as they regarded him as nothing more than a baby to bully.

As Anthony continued moving, his control over Origin Essence improved in real time, not in massive leaps and bounds, but through minute refinements. Although the improvements were small, progress was still progress.

If it hadn’t been for his mastery over many forms of energy back in the Acarnis Galaxy, Anthony would never have adapted this quickly. Coupled with his Limitless Talent and the heightened state of bat sharpening every aspect of his being, his control over this new energy continued to improve with every passing second.
