"Wait... what did he say his na was again?"
"Ylvar, if I rember correctly. Why do you ask?"
"I just rembered what my cousin told earlier. You know she works for Algerie Kingdom's Blacksmith Guild as an attendant, right?"
"Yeah? Did she et soone nad Ylvar there?"
"Not just et him, she interacted with Ylvar directly. She even got to interact with the guild master as well because of it!"
"Holy shit, the Blacksmith Guild's guild master? Wait... is the Ylvar you're referring to the sa Ylvar we're looking at right now? Isn't Algerie Kingdom far away?"
"I don't know how he got here this quick either, but there's no doubt about it. My cousin and I talked about him for a long ti, though it was mostly her talking about how he looked and what feats he did."
"Feats? What feats did he do?"
"A lot to be considered a big shot in the world of blacksmithing. And from what we're looking at so far, it seems like he plans to do the sa thing with his personal strength."
"Definitely stronger than ets the eye. Juba chose the wrong person to pick on today."
"Well... at the very least he'll get like 20 rit points by the end of it."
At the very mont Valyr gave everyone in the crowd a taste of his true strength, many of them imdiately beca curious of his identity, seeing as how he was able to avoid all of Juba's attacks with ease.
Unsurprisingly, the first to speak out among the crowd were his fellow blacksmiths, talking about the various contributions he'd made to the guild, as well as the various feats he'd achieved, such as the fact that he forged an artifact while he was still a Rank 2 class holder. As more and more ti passed, the more vocal these blacksmiths beca, talking about how he was the one to represent the blacksmiths in the Four Pillars' Inheritance, as well as how he brought prestige to the guild branch he ca from with his proposals.
By the ti the spar between Juba and Valyr had lasted for a few minutes already, almost everyone in the crowd were already looking at Valyr in a new light, their expressions showing their pity for Juba.
Naturally, Juba felt pity for himself as well, inwardly admonishing himself for not doing at least a little background check on the newbie he chose to do a combat readiness test on.
As for Valyr, he remained more or less composed as he and Juba seemingly exchanged attacks back and forth, allowing him to give everyone watching them an idea of what he was capable of.
At tis, he even felt himself beco the target of a few identification skills, causing him to inwardly smile as he knew that their curiosities got the better of them.
'They're in for a surprise when they find out I should have been losing from the start,' thought the young man to himself, only for the reactions of the crowd to confirm his thoughts not long after.
At first, it was only a couple of people letting out shocked gasps after identifying Valyr's strength. However, as more and more people within the crowd found out that he was rely at the peak of Rank 4, many of them rewrote their impressions of the young man once more.
After all, even though Juba had exhausted most of his ans to aim for the next rank, he was still at the peak of Rank 5.
That ant that, even though there was a disparity of 25 levels between the two, Valyr still had an advantage over him!
"Haah... haah..." Feeling like the combat readiness test had already lost its purpose once 10 minutes had passed, Juba imdiately stopped in his tracks as he raised both of his hands in surrender. "I concede!"
Hearing those words, Valyr imdiately stopped the attack he planned on landing, redirecting the force he'd built up straight to the ground.
Bang!
Feeling the ground slightly quake in response to his attack, many among the crowd looked at Valyr with wide eyes once more, with Juba's complexion even becoming slightly pale because of it.
"So, did I pass the test?" Taking in a deep breath to adjust his condition, Valyr looked at Juba with a smile before throwing a question at him.
"You did, you did," Juba hurriedly replied with a smile of his own. Though, unlike the genuine smile on Valyr's face, the smile on the man's face was slightly forced.
"Now if you'll excuse ."
Whoosh!
Before the young man could continue the conversation, Juba went ahead and excused himself, squeezing into the crowd as he pushed his body to the limit to stay away from Valyr as much as possible.
After all, nothing good would happen if he were to antagonize anyone like Valyr any further. With the instigator of the entire thing fleeing the premises the very mont he could, it did not take long for the crowd surrounding the two earlier to disperse.
Unsurprisingly, so of them comnded Valyr for showing Juba the consequences of his actions, finding catharsis in what the young man did just now.
At the sa ti, so of them reached out to him to have him join their groups, seeing as he was still a novice rcenary.
Though there were a couple among the offers he got that tempted him, Valyr eventually decided to decline all of their offers as he told them that he wanted to experience the entire thing for himself first.
Surprisingly, many of them respected his decision, with almost all of them even telling him that it was fine if he were to change his mind in the future.
With that, Valyr was eventually left on his own in the main mission hall once more, but now with a few pairs of eyes glancing his way every once in a while.
Wryly smiling at the attention he was now getting, the young man returned to the mission board made for novice rcenaries as he chose a suitable mission once again.
While that was happening, a pair of individuals near one of the mission hall's exits were discussing what just happened earlier.
"Ylvar, huh. From what he showed in that spar just now, it seems like there's still a lot he's yet
to show us."
"The fact that he easily turned what was a spar into a stalemate is enough proof for that. Though, that's more amazing to think about if you remind yourself that his opponent is at the peak of Rank 5."
"Well then, this is the first ti I've seen you take this much interest in a guy. Did you decide to swing that way all of a sudden?"
"You better watch what you're saying, Major. Must I remind you that I could kick you out of the squad at any ti?"
"Hahaha. Ease up, will you? But seriously though, Colonel. You really think he has the
potential?"
"If he doesn't, then who does? He's definitely the first person I've seen that gave the feeling he's a perfect fit for the squad I'm making."
"Well... you're not wrong. He might just be the person we've been waiting for all this ti."
"He just needs to raise his rank to 3-Star rcenary at the very least."
"Yeah... I'm getting the feeling it wouldn't take him that long."
