Unsurprisingly, after regaining his bearings from the words that left Thomas' mouth, Valyr went ahead and asked the three how they were able to amass so much material within the ti he was away.
Being the one tasked to help ria and Lucques find their footing in the world of Greater Beyond, it went without saying that Thomas was the one who answered the question.
Though, before he began his explanation, he first prefaced it by telling the young man that five days had passed since the latter left Greater Beyond.
Briefly doing a bit of math in his head as those words made him wonder how long slept, the young man soon pushed the thought to the side as his good friend went on quite the lengthy explanation of how the current situation ca to be.
ntioning how he tried to do what Valyr did for him in passing, Thomas explained that he brought the duo to a similar spot where the two of them grinded for XP back then.
Making use of the strength he had as a Level 10 player, he then whittled down as much health from the beasts and monsters that ca their way as possible before allowing the two to land the blow that would kill those monsters outright.
With that, even though Thomas wasn't able to corral the beasts and monsters as easily as Valyr said, as well as the fact that the man had to bring both ria and Lucques up to Level 10, it only took the two an entire day to reach Level 10.
After acclimating to the greater levels of strength their higher levels gave them, the three then went ahead and made their way to the Verdant Woodlands to obtain the two materials needed for the concoction of the beauty elixir.
"Since you taught what the Verdant Treeslug and the Verdant Bluegrass looked like the first ti we did it, I took it upon myself to take the lead and teach them what they needed to look out for," said Thomas, prompting Valyr to nod in understanding.
Naturally, the pace at which they grabbed the two materials was considerably slow at first, especially for the two that had yet to familiarize themselves with the two items in greater detail.
Fortunately, as more and more ti passed, the two gradually found a couple of tips and tricks for themselves to make it easier for themselves to find the two items, allowing them to move through the forest at a decent pace.
On the other hand, with the practice he'd already gotten back when he helped Valyr look for the materials, Thomas only beca faster at searching for them to the point that it seed like his sight had beco attuned towards those two specific items.
"In the end, by the ti three days had passed, the three of us had more or less scoured the outer region of the Verdant Woodlands for those two items," said the man in a slightly awkward tone as he briefly scratched his cheeks.
"Although we found a few more Verdant Treeslugs and Verdant Bluegrass after that, it wasn't as much compared to the amount we collected in those few days."
"..." Hearing those words, Valyr felt that it was necessary for him to scratch the back of his head as he gave the three an odd expression.
"So, if I'm getting this correctly..."
"Within the span of a bit over three days, the three of you pretty much grabbed every Verdant Treeslug and Verdant Bluegrass within the Verdant Woodlands?"
"Well..." With Valyr's words acting as an outsider's view towards their very actions, the three were left stunned for a bit before looking back at the young man with slightly bitter smiles.
"I guess you could put it that way," said Thomas as he let out a slightly forced chuckle. "But then again, it's only the outer region."
"Honestly, I don't even want to imagine what the three of you would do if I told you the inner region was safe to enter," replied Valyr, only to be t with the glistening gazes of the three the mont he was done talking.
Realizing that the sarcasm in his voice wasn't really that obvious, the young man faintly shook his head at them as he reminded them, "No. It isn't safe to enter at your level."
"At the very least, you'd need to be around Level 25 to roam the inner region of the Verdant Woodlands unimpeded."
"Aw..." Finding the act of looking for the two items now sowhat thrilling after having done it for over three days straight, ria and Lucques imdiately looked at Valyr with slight disappointnt the mont they heard those words.
In fact, even Thomas could not help but briefly glance at the young man with disappointnt, which prompted the latter to inwardly shake his head as he thought about the state the three had gotten themselves into.
Letting out a brief chuckle not long after that, the young man then proceeded to teach the two how to concoct the beauty elixir itself, which unsurprisingly prompted them to look at him with skepticism by the ti he was done with his demonstration.
Having already experienced the sa set of skepticism himself the first ti he saw it, Thomas went ahead and reassured the two by showing him that the steps provided by Valyr were truly effective in concocting a beauty elixir.
Seeing that both Valyr and Thomas had shown them that concocting a beauty elixir was truly that simple, ria and Lucques soon went ahead and dipped their feet into the concoction process, failing their first few attempts at getting the combination of materials just right. Though, once they finally felt every click in their minds, the two began to concoct elixirs at a pace that only slightly lagged behind the speed at which Thomas made his own.
With that, the four began to spend almost all of their ti in the ga concocting beauty elixirs that they'd sell later on.
Of course, with how many elixirs they were concocting almost every minute, it did not take long for the amount of empty vials Valyr had prepared in the past to run out, prompting the young man to make a short trip back to the village to buy a lot more vials.
Thinking of it as a necessary thing to do for the beauty elixir 'business' to expand, Valyr did not take long to return to the sight of the three, only for realization to quickly sink in as he noticed the amount of materials they still had after concocting elixirs for quite a long ti. In the end, the four eventually ca to an agreent to give Valyr most of the Verdant Treeslugs and Verdant Bluegrass had collected for the anti, saving the remainder for the next ti they decided to concoct beauty elixirs.
With the amount of Verdant Treeslugs and Verdant Bluegrass remaining after that a bit more realistic than before, the speed at which the four converted the items into elixirs for purchase greatly improved.
In fact, with the four of them working together, they were able to convert a kilo of both items into a vial of beauty elixirs in just a couple of hours.
And thus, with the group agreeing to only convert around 10 kilos of the materials they gathered into the beauty elixirs they could sell, it only took them an entire day to amass about quadruple the amount of beauty elixirs both Valyr and Thomas concocted in the past.
Of course, concocting that much elixirs made both of the two worry as to whether or not they'd be able to sell most, if not all of the elixirs they collected.
After all, only a few days had passed back on Earth since the last ti they sold the beauty elixirs to both players and NPCs.
Thankfully, with the help of yet another engaging forum post from Valyr himself, as well as the popularity he'd gained from doing the sa thing in the past, a swarm of players and NPCs appeared in front of the four not long after they announced that they were selling the elixirs to the public yet again.
With Valyr acting as a mascot of sorts, and the three acting as the salespeople for the product, the stock of beauty elixirs they had surprisingly dwindled down far faster than they initially expected, prompting the four of them to wonder as to why that was the case. Fortunately, a bit of eavesdropping in the crowd was more than enough for them to hear that a group of players led by soone nad SeventhShield was advertising the product near the
Cave of Beginnings.
Discreetly sending a ssage of gratitude to the man as he continued to attract attention towards them, the four eventually sold almost all of the beauty elixirs they concocted by the
ti another day had passed.
Looking at each other with wide smiles, the four soon made their way to an inn before calculating the profit they earned from selling the elixirs.
"So, we concocted a total of 900 deluxe elixirs and about 3,000 of the basic ones," said
Thomas as he began to count the remaining amount of elixirs they had.
"Adding on the elixirs that Valyr and I weren't able to sell the previous ti, we still have 100
deluxe ones and 500 of the basic ones left to our na."
"With us bumping up the prices of the deluxe elixirs to twice what it was before, we've
amassed a grand total of... 13,000 silver coins," said Thomas, prompting both ria and
Lucques to look at Valyr in slight anxiety.
After all, they were still under the impression that the currency exchange was ruthless in Greater Beyond, just like in all of the other gas.
"Damn." Yet, Valyr's reaction made it seem like that wasn't the case, whistling at the figure Thomas uttered in admiration. "That's over a platinum coin, no?"
"...Yeah." Thomas nodded after doing a bit of calculation.
"Considering that 3 silver coins in this ga can be converted into 2 Deltas, if we also take the
conversion fee into consideration..."
"Then that leaves us with..." "A profit of almost 8,000 Deltas."
