"This..."
"This can't be..."
Reading through the various ssages he received on his other self while he was away, Valyr felt his heart sink deeper and deeper as all of them began to paint a certain picture in his mind.
"You're telling ... it's finally begun?" murmured the young man to himself, still feeling imnse disbelief as his eyes continued to scan through the words on the screen.
"You're seriously telling ... the War of the Three Sovereignties has finally begun?"
Feeling his insides shatter into a thousand pieces as his mind was consud by that one thought, the young man thought back to the first ti he'd beco acquainted with the war's existence.
Considering that he was still grasping at straws in his previous life while he was carving out a path for himself in Greater Beyond, it was only after three months since Greater Beyond was released to the public did he co to know about the war.
Naturally, with the ti difference between Greater Beyond and Earth, almost two years had already passed since the War of the Three Sovereignties truly began.
Unsurprisingly, many kingdoms had already fallen victim to the violence the war had awakened during that ti, turning a considerable portion of the continent into places that no sane person would dare to tread without careful preparation.
In fact, one of these kingdoms was none other than the sa Algerie Kingdom he had been frequenting before being forced to assu his identity as Ataraxia.
Briefly recalling how the war had brought the Algerie Kingdom to an incredibly pitiful state in his previous life, Valyr closed his eyes for a bit, taking in a few deep breaths in the process to calm himself down.
"Huu..." After feeling like he'd sowhat returned to a more tranquil state, the young man went ahead and dissected the ssages he received in greater detail, wanting to find out how much ti had passed since those ssages were sent to him.
"During a lull in the skirmishes between the humans and the orcs, the orcs decided to take it as an opportunity to attack the elves when they least expected it."
"With that, they ambushed one of the elves' frontier kingdoms, sparing not even a single elf in their onslaught as they preached the na of their almighty emperor."
"With their comrades' deaths stoking the flas of anger and revenge in their hearts, the elves did not hesitate to stab the orcs back, showing no discrimination as to what being their attacks killed in the process."
"Because of the location they chose, as well as their innate nature of deeming other beings inferior compared to them, the elves also ended up killing humans in the pursuit of taking revenge on the orcs, turning what was previously a war between two races..."
"Into a war between the humans, elves, and the orcs."
"Man..." Although he already knew how the war ca to be in his previous life thanks to a bit of reading, the young man still could not help but clutch his head the mont he was done compiling all of the information he received from the ssages.
Faintly letting out a sigh in a bid to alleviate a bit of the ntal strain the information gave him, Valyr soon shifted his focus on obtaining the amount of ti that passed since those ssages were last sent to him.
Thankfully, the ones that ssaged him did not stop ssaging him after informing him of what the orcs did to the elves and vice versa.
Because of that, he was eventually able to find out that an entire month had passed since the orcs decided to ambush the elves.
"What was I even doing a month ago?" Feeling a bit of relief at the realization that the War of the Three Sovereignties was only at its early stages, Valyr briefly mulled over the question in his mind as he made his way out of the inn.
After that, he left the village at the fastest speed he could muster, only to then head towards the nearest town with the help of the [Azure Dragon Movent Arts].
Whoosh!
"Around that ti... I was selling beauty elixirs with Thomas," muttered Valyr to himself as he sat on top of the azure dragon he conjured.
Finding it quite ironic that he ended up finding out the War of the Three Sovereignties had begun after selling so more beauty elixirs with Thomas and the others, the young man smiled with self-mockery as he brought up the system's chat feature in front of him.
Ding!
Going through the various people that ssaged him while he was busy making his identity as Ataraxia stronger, Valyr decided to contact Mystia out of everyone else first for a couple
reasons.
The first one was the fact that he could ask her for more elixirs, which he could give to Thomas and the others alongside the sets of Basic Reinforcent Elixirs he planned on concocting.
However, that paled in comparison to the second reason why he decided to contact her, especially now that the war more or less took up the entirety of his attention.
And that was the fact that, aside from being the Imperial Alchemist of the ltierre Heavenly Court, Mystia was one of the imperial advisers of the ltierre Empire.
In other words, out of all the people that contacted him regarding the war, she was the one who knew the ins and outs of the ongoing war the most.
With that, he sent a brief greeting ssage in response to the ones she sent him, as well as a brief apology and explanation on where he'd been the past month.
"I was wondering where you've gone for the past month, but I'm glad that you at least had the thought of ssaging back." Fortunately, Mystia did not seem mad at all in her ssages. If anything, she was more than relieved to see he was safe.
"I suppose you got the announcent from the defensive lines, then?"
"Announcent?" replied Valyr back, his expression that of confusion. "What
announcent?"
"They're calling everyone that enlisted to co to the defensive lines as soon as possible," replied Mystia, briefly leaving the young man at a complete loss for words as he stared at the
ssage with wide eyes.
"...They're doing what now?"
