In just a few instants, an incessant cacophony of voices began to ring throughout Valyr's mind, causing him to frown even further as he tried his utmost to grasp control over the situation.
Yet, as if reveling in the resistance and struggle he was putting up against them, the voices inside his head only beca louder, the three phrases they all spoke now beginning to contain a certain kind of charm to them.
'Fuck …'
Gritting his teeth as he pushed his mind to hastily co up with a solution, the young man decided to make use of so of his buffing skills in the anti, recalling that he had done the sa thing to her gaze in his other identity.
'[Limit Break: Second Verse].'
'[First Encore].'

Reining his empowered aura as much as possible, Valyr imdiately let out a wide sigh of relief in his head the mont he noticed that the strength contained in the voices were getting weaker because of his actions.
Having confird for the third ti in a row that an overwhelming disparity in stats was all needed to resist whatever Erika was doing, the young man decided to go all out.
But of course, without attracting anyone else's attention in the process.

'[Four Paths Elental Arts: Raging Azure Phoenix].'
'[Four Paths Elental Arts: Enduring Azure Turtle].'

With each buffing skill he activated, the aura Valyr passively gave off gradually began to gain a bit of weight to it, causing the expressions of the participants around him to darken as they thought of his actions as subtle intimidation.
'[Truth Weaver Scripture: Tetrad].'
'[Intent of Shadow Energy].'
However, with his entire attention focused on resisting and dispelling the cacophony of voices that echoed within his mind, the young man remained oblivious to their thoughts as he continued to increase his stats through all his ans.

In the end, it was only after he activated his final buff did he finally gain so leeway over the situation, fully resisting the captivating charms the voices had begun to brew the mont they entered his mind.

Focusing every ounce of willpower he had to banish them out of his mind, Valyr eventually felt them leave his mind not even a few seconds later, making him feel as if a massive weight was lifted off his shoulders at that very mont.
Unfortunately…

With the dilemma of possibly becoming Erika's toy now out of the way, the young man soon began to take note of his surroundings, only to then realize that all the participants and organizers were looking at him with frowns on their faces.
Getting a rough idea of what was going on while he was focused on saving himself, Valyr showed no hesitation in dispelling all of the buffs he'd just activated.
After that, he went ahead and apologized to everyone for his actions, finally easing up the frowns that were on the people's faces.
Nevertheless, his sudden actions still caused a few conversations to arise from the crowd.
"I wonder why Ylvar activated his skills all of a sudden? Is he trying to intimidate his opponents?"
"Possibly, but I don't think so. Did you notice he wasn't even responding to any of the words the others were saying to him?"
"Not only that, but he was frowning a lot. Like… 'trying to escape death through any ans' level kind of frowning."
"…Does Ylvar possibly have a case of indigestion?"
Shifting his attention away from the conversations from the crowd, Valyr soon returned his attention back to the four arbiters, wondering what they would think of his actions.
Naturally, almost all of them began to give him disapproving looks, thinking of his previous actions as a way to stop his fellow participants from giving it their all during the first round.
But of course, one of them reacted to his actions differently.
"Eh…?" Noticing that the technique she trusted in had failed to do its job, a bit of confusion appeared on Erika's face, glancing at Valyr as if she was trying to piece in his head as to what just happened.
Though, as more and more ti passed, this confusion gradually disappeared, instead being replaced with a look that was a combination of delight and excitent.
However, as soone who'd been a victim of that sa gaze, Valyr knew that the excitent on her face was rely a facade.
If anything, her eyes told a different story, showing an intense level of possession and aggression in response to his actions.
'At first, I thought she was just a person with so sort of charm-based class,' thought Valyr to himself, his mind going over the three attempts at controlling him.
'But now that she's decided to fully bare her fangs at , I finally have an idea as to which organization Erika is a spy of.'
'And if my suspicions eventually turn out to be true… then Mystia definitely made the right choice in enlisting my help.'
Having gained a lot of information on Erika through that exchange of glances, Valyr decided to act his part for the anti, especially considering that there was still a lot of ti before the tournant ended.
Surprisingly, Erika was of the sa mind, feeling as if she had overstepped so sort of boundary during her attempt of forcefully roping him over.
Not wanting to attract any doubt nor suspicion towards herself, the woman eventually returned to her silent yet erudite facade from earlier, glancing at the center stage with a gaze of subtle indifference.
"…Azure Spear."
Waiting for one of the organizers to co to him, Valyr imdiately shot the organizer a look of apology as the latter uttered his na of choice.
Returning the look with a slight nod, the organizer then told him, "Considering your reputation, the organizers have decided to give you a warning for now."
"However, if you ever do anything similar in the next round of the tournant, you will be stripped of your right to participate."
"Understood," said the young man with a nod of understanding, inwardly letting out a wide sigh of relief in the process.
"Good." Giving Valyr a nod of acknowledgnt in response, the organizer glanced at his tablet for a bit before asking.
"So, what areas are you going to tackle for the first round?"
