Although their guild knew that nine other guilds would also be exploring the Realm of New Horizons with them, since Azure Coalition was invited by a different guild to the dungeon, it was no surprise that Ataraxia was slightly taken aback after seeing Malutar appear all of a sudden.
After all, the last ti the two interacted with one another was when they were still frequently raiding the Red Wyvern raid.
Of course, now that the average combat strength for players began to hover around the middle of Rank 3, both guilds had no need for the raid’s drops anymore, having moved onto dungeon that were more difficult yet more rewarding at the sa ti.
"How have you been?" Taking a brief second to recover from the surprise Malutar brought him, Ataraxia looked at the man with a slight smile as he asked him a question.
"Been doing well." Malutar chuckled in response, giving the young man a grin. "You could even say that Big Richard is now close to becoming an even bigger Richard."
At those words, Ataraxia briefly looked at the man in confusion, wondering if what he’d just heard was a direct euphemism.
Though, after pondering over it for a bit more, he soon realized what the man was trying to tell him.
"Are you telling ... you guys finally got your hands on a proper guild territory?" As this question left his mouth, Ataraxia looked at Malutar with slightly widened eyes.
As soone whose experience with Greater Beyond’s guilds spanned years above any player currently in the ga, it went without saying that the young man was greatly familiar with the guild system Greater Beyond put in place.
In any case, it wasn’t all that difficult for soone to establish a guild.
If one wanted to establish one, one would have to et the following requirents: a class, a badge or emblem that signified their connection to their respective class guild, as well as a piece of territory that they could call their own.
Of course, it went without saying that the first two requirents were incredibly simple, considering that a player would et those requirents sooner or later.
On the other hand, the final requirent was a bit more difficult, needing one either to amass a decent chunk of money or a certain amount of reputation in order to buy a place they could call their own.
Then again, considering what he could recall about what other guilds did in the past, the system was quite lenient in terms of what it considered a territory during the first establishnt.
In fact, Ataraxia even recalled a great number of players building huts out of sticks and stones just to et the third requirent.
But of course, with a Rank 5 class not even anywhere near the pinnacle of Greater Beyond’s combat strength, it was no surprise that guilds could also be improved after eting certain requirents.
Whether it was a guild that was starting out on Greater Beyond or had already established a foundation on other VRMMORPGs, all guilds started off as unranked guilds.
Although unranked guilds ca in various types, sizes, and strengths, all unranked guilds had one thing in common.
And that was the fact that they did not have a proper guild territory.
Though almost all of the players were confused by this requirent at first, players eventually figured what the system ant by it.
In short, a proper guild territory... was a plot of land owned by the guild.
Even though it didn’t seem like there was much of a difference between player-owned territories and proper guild territories, the latter allowed the guild to develop and improve at a faster pace.
In fact, one good example of that were the various guild buildings and statues Ataraxia had built, which wouldn’t be able if the guild territory was just a asly ho.
As long as a guild had a plot of land they could call their own, after eting a few more requirents the system asked of them, their guild would eventually be given the designation of a ranked guild.
Unlike unranked guilds, ranked guilds ca in eight different tiers.
The lowest among them were the third-tier guilds, only to be followed up by second-tier and first-tier guilds.
After first-tier ca Continent-tier, with World-tier guilds coming up after that.
As for the three remaining tiers, such ranked guilds were still out of reach for the current player base, considering that one’s territory needed to encompass a size well beyond what a planet could hold.
Indeed.
Just like the requirents for an unranked guild to beco a ranked guild, for one’s guild to reach a higher tier, one would have to et certain territory sizes in order to do so.
For a third-tier guild to be moved up to second-tier, a guild should have control over an entire city.
For a second-tier guild to move up to first-tier, one would either have to expand their city into a kingdom, or gain total ownership of a kingdom.
As for Continent-tier guilds, it went without saying that one would need to have control over an empire, while a World-tier guild would need to gain control over an entire sovereignty.
Although obtaining a plot of land for one’s guild might not seem like much in the grand sche of things, Ataraxia knew how difficult it was for the average guild to do so, especially with every other guild doing the sa thing as them.
Seeing Malutar widely grin in response to his words, the young man understood that he had hit the mark.
With that in mind, Ataraxia smiled widely back at the man in return as he told him, "I guess congratulations in order for your guild, then."
"It took a lot of effort, but it was well worth it," replied Malutar, briefly letting out a cackle as the joy of obtaining a proper guild territory washed over him.
After letting his excitent and joy over his guild’s future prospects subside, the man let out a calming breath as he looked back at Ataraxia. "Oh, right. Have you heard about the other guilds that’ll be tagging along with us?"
The young man shook his head. "I haven’t."
After that, he swept his gaze over the other groups gathered around the gates, taking note of their appearances as he committed them to mory.
Seeing as Ataraxia’s attention was focused on the other guilds, Malutar took it upon himself to explain the overall situation to him. "Out of the 10 guilds that are planning to explore the Realm of New Horizons, 4 of them are unranked, 5 of them are third-tier..."
"While one of them is peak third-tier."
"Peak third-tier?" Hearing those words, Ataraxia raised his eyebrow. "Which one?"
"Those guys over there," replied Malutar, pointing at a large group led by a stalwart yet brutish-looking man. "Although it may not seem like it..."
"They’re from Pavilion Draconica."
