With his gaze affixed towards the latter portion of the skill's description, Valyr rubbed his chin for a bit as he asked his other self a question.

"When the skill says that the depth of the chosen concept is enhanced to the next tier… does it an the concept goes up a grade or does it actually go up an entire tier?"

"…Not sure." Ataraxia shook his head after giving it a bit of thought. "If we consider the wording of the skill, then it's best to assu that the effect is the latter, where the concept goes up by an entire tier."

"However, would a skill capable of doing that really be accessible to soone only at the peak of Rank 5?"

As the question his other self asked him lingered in his mind, Valyr fell into deep contemplation, pondering over the final buff [Descent of the Arcane Supre] gave.

If the skill only improved Ataraxia's concept by one grade, then the skill was truly sothing he should use either as a last resort or as a prelude to an insane combo.

However, if the skill improved Ataraxia's concept to the next tier… then the young man's words of the skill being similar to Valyr's wouldn't be unfounded.

Although upgrading one's Force to a Concept looked like it only extended its effects towards Defense and boosted it by an additional 50%, since forming a Concept was a necessary step to becoming a Myth, it went without saying that there was more to it than just that aspect.

Aside from giving one access to the existence of Armants and Domains at the Myth level, having a Concept also partly lifted a shackle that normally constrained beings at the Mortal level.

Of course, that shackle was none other than the feature that greatly limited one's ability to deal damage to beings of a higher level.

The Damage Restriction System.

Though the Damage Restriction System would still take great effect during the Myth level, the constraints it had would be weakened thanks to the Concept, which increased the limit to when the feature would fully take effect.

In a way, the Concept's effect in that aspect acted similarly to titles that weakened the efficacy of the Damage Restriction System.

However, unlike titles where the reduction in efficacy was fixed, the Concept's effect on the Damage Restriction System would be increased the further one's comprehension went, eventually reaching a stage where the feature's effects would beco negligible.

If not for that, then it would be next to impossible for powerful Ancient-level beings to stand shoulder to shoulder against those who had just recently ascended to godhood.

With that being said, the effects a Stage 0 Concept had on the Damage Restriction System was decent at best, matching a number of titles as it reduced the efficacy of the feature by around 10%.

Though, if one were to own titles that already reduced the efficacy of the Damage Restriction System beforehand, the Concept's effects acted more like a final multiplier, increasing the titles' effects in that area by 10% instead.

Since both Valyr and Ataraxia already owned a number of titles that reduced the feature's efficacy to a certain extent, the existence of a final multiplier on top of that would undoubtedly improve the damage they dealt to higher-level beings to a great degree.

Unfortunately, they still weren't sure whether the skill's final effect truly boosted a concept to the next tier.

"…Should I use the skill?" asked Ataraxia as he gave the idea a bit of thought. "Just so we could confirm it once and for all."

"I don't mind, but are you sure?" Valyr gave him a look of slight concern. "Sure, we'd be able to confirm its effects, but you'd also be crippled like no tomorrow for the next three hours."

"On top of that, you wouldn't be able to use the skill for the entire week."

"Well…" Rubbing his chin, the forr gave the matter a bit more thought. "It's not like I have a need for the skill during this week."

"Plus, the closest event that cos to mind where the skill would be handy would be the upcoming Nine Heavenly Pillars Tournant, but that's still about a month from now."

"…Are you really sure?" Though the words his other self said to him had more or less confird what he felt towards the matter, Valyr still decided to ask Ataraxia the sa question one more ti.

"Once you do this, one of your concepts would go down a grade in exchange," he told him. "You really sure you wanna go through with this?"

"I'm sure." Ataraxia nodded, giving Valyr a grin not long after. "I'm curious how strong I'd be with the skill activated."

"…Alright then." Seeing as his other self had fully made his mind up on the matter, the young man thought that it was pointless for him to dissuade his other self any further.

Distancing himself from Ataraxia as much as possible, Valyr went ahead and activated a couple of his status buffs before casting a couple of barriers around himself.

"Alright." Feeling like he'd prepared as much as he could for what was to co, the young man eventually gave his other self the green light.

"Let it rip."

The forr grinned in response.

"Gladly."

"[Descent of the Arcane Supre]!"

At the very instant he activated the skill, Ataraxia felt as if every cell making up his body was sapped dry of its energy, only leaving him with the bare minimum needed for him to still remain conscious.

Feeling a hint of regret well up within him as he watched his body instantly turn into a husk, the young man's body soon underwent another drastic change as a deluge of energy started to manifest within him, only to then inundate his entire body with it as his body gradually returned to its previous state.

While that was happening, a certain question popped up in his mind, asking him which concept he was willing to boost with the skill while also sacrificing part of it in the process.

Pondering over the question for a bit, Ataraxia eventually decided to go with the [Intent of the Great Arcanist], feeling that it wouldn't be much of a loss for it to the Intent to go down a grade.

Swoosh!

With his body back to its previous state and his concept chosen, the other buffs that ca with [Descent of the Arcane Supre] soon ca into effect, intensifying the aura the young man gave off to a level that went far beyond even what Valyr was capable of.

At the sa ti, the apparition of a certain entity began to manifest behind him, causing Valyr, who watched the entire thing unfold, to look on with shock as the apparition's identity slowly beca clear.

"The Arcane Concept…"
