Whoosh!

Feeling like he'd shown more than enough combat strength to the deciding figures of the Mystic Plane, Ataraxia went ahead and deactivated all of his buffing skills one by one, eventually returning to his state from before the demonstration.

Briefly looking at the young man in front of him with a mix of satisfaction and excitent, Marcus turned his attention to Valyr before asking, "What… kind of things have you been teaching him?"

"Aside from the items Mystia gave , just the essentials," replied the latter, giving the forr a slightly teasing smile. "Everything else you've seen him show off is purely from his own efforts."

"In other words… all you did was just give him a push?" said Mystia in response, feeling both confusion and envy towards the entire thing.

"Kind of, but also kind of not?" answered Valyr in return, inwardly thinking he'd just shot himself in the foot by deciding to respond ambiguously.

"Aside from the general things he needed to keep in mind, I also gave him so skill books, elixirs, equipnt… the like."

"Now that sounds more believable." Hearing those words, Mystia faintly let out a sigh of relief. "It only makes sense for a blacksmith like you to help your student out from a more materialistic perspective."

'Plus, if you really didn't give him anything else other than the items I gave you, I would've probably questioned my abilities as a teacher,' she continued inwardly, though she saw no need to voice it out.

Deciding to act oblivious towards the entire conversation the two were having in the anti, Ataraxia looked at Marcus before asking, "Do I et the requirents for the position?"

"et?" The latter briefly looked at the young man with a stunned expression before letting out a hearty chuckle. "Rather than et it, it's better to say you shot past it and left it in the dust."

"Glad to hear that." The young man slightly grinned in response.

"So, what position are you planning to give him?" asked Valyr, having wrapped up his conversation with Mystia not long ago. "What other director-level positions are there?"

"I'm sure you already know that Saintess and Guardian are the most important ones among them," said Marcus, taking the question as an opportunity to explain more of the Mystic Plane to Ataraxia.

"As for the three remaining ones a small plane could have, those would be the Archivist, the Caretaker, and the Warmaster."

Hearing the nas of the three remaining positions the man gave them, both Valyr and Ataraxia nodded in understanding.

With how self-explanatory the nas were, it did not take much for the two to understand what kind of purpose each position served.

Though, out of the three positions that the Mystic Plane hadn't filled yet, only the Archivist sowhat confused them.

"Archivist?" Valyr looked at Marcus with a raised eyebrow. "What purpose do they serve?"

"Whatever the na pretty much suggests," replied the latter, giving the young man a knowing expression. "If that wasn't obvious enough, then they archive the events that happen throughout the Mystic Plane and keep it safe."

"And this is done… why?"

"To serve as a conceptual pillar of existence for the plane," answered Marcus, which was unsurprisingly sothing neither Valyr nor Ataraxia were expecting to hear.

"Wait… you didn't tell any of this," said Mystia in response, not expecting such an explanation for the position either.

"Would it have even made a difference?" The man shook his head at her words. "Back then, we were prioritizing the survival of the Mystic Plane."

"…True." She nodded after giving it a bit of thought. "But what's this about events being a conceptual pillar of existence?"

"What it exactly ans," said Marcus, shrugging his shoulders once more. "The events that happen throughout the Mystic Plane act as an anchor of sorts for the plane to continue existing within the universe."

"I think I kind of get it," said Valyr with a look of slight realization, the gears in his mind turning. "Is it sothing similar to that saying that goes 'the dead are never truly dead until they are entirely forgotten'?"

"Pretty much." The man nodded in agreent. "As long as records of the Mystic Plane's events remain, even if the entire plane is destroyed one day, it will eventually return to the universe through this anchor."

"…Of course, whether I'd still be the Overseer by then is sothing I'd rather not think about."

"In any case, we've gone off on quite the tangent."

As those words left his mouth, Marcus returned his attention back to Ataraxia as he looked at him with a solemn expression. "When I first looked at you, I imdiately got the feeling that you were suited to take up this position."

"Fortunately, the strength you showed has made you more than worthy of the position," he continued, not hiding the excitent he felt at this very mont.

"With the four of us working together, there's no doubt that the Mystic Plane will soon enter another golden age, possibly mimicking the glory days the plane had in the past."

"…Of course, I digress yet again." The man let out a faint chuckle. "With everything I've said thus far in mind, are you willing to beco…"

"The Mystic Plane's Archivist?"

"…Eh?"

Not expecting that the only position that caught their attention would also be the position he would be taking up, Ataraxia was briefly left at a loss for words before looking back at the man with curiosity.

"What kind of tasks would I have to do as an Archivist?"

"Aside from writing down important events that happen in the plane from ti to ti, you're mostly tasked with making sure the archives of the events themselves aren't destroyed," replied Marcus.

"Would I have to stay here long-term, then?" asked the young man, his mind currently pondering over the first task the man gave him. "After all, I'd have to note down every important event, no?"

"Not necessarily." The latter shook his head before giving him a reassuring smile. "I'll be doing most of the recording. What you only have to focus on for the most part is protecting the archives."

"…Sounds like a comfortable position," Valyr could not help but say, to which Mystia nodded in agreent.

"So…" Ignoring the comnts the other two were giving by the side, Marcus asked Ataraxia once more. "Are you willing to beco this plane's Archivist?"

"Of course," replied the latter, giving the man a wide grin in response.

"I'd be stupid not to."
