"…Who knew making an Uncommon grade elixir would be this difficult?"
Keeping an eye on the amalgamation of essences within the cloud of Mystic Energy, a slight frown adorned Valyr's face as he briefly thought back to the potions he had concocted thus far.
As he pondered over the Common grade potions he planned on making for the quest, the young man initially decided that all of the potions he would make were ones he had already concocted in the past under Mystia's tutelage.
After all, the quest itself didn't specify that the potion he needed to concoct had to be sothing he hadn't already concocted in the past.
However, once Mystia gave him all the information he needed to concoct Reinforcent Elixirs, his plans for the quest slightly changed.
Instead of having all of the Common grade potions be ones he had already concocted before, he swapped two of the Common grade potions he planned on making for the two types of Basic Reinforcent Elixirs.
In his mind, he felt that the difficulty of concocting the Basic Reinforcent Elixirs was on the sa level as all of the other Common grade potions he had concocted thus far.
Yet, once he had finally gotten around to actually making them, he realized that concocting one without any prior experience was significantly harder than he initially expected.
Fortunately, with the tips and tricks Mystia shared with him, he was able to complete the concoction process for both types of Basic Reinforcent Elixirs.
Though, that success also made him realize that if he were to actually attempt concocting the elixirs without Mystia's tips, he would have undoubtedly failed before it even began.
With that, the young man decided to concoct a couple more batches of Basic Reinforcent Elixirs, familiarizing himself with the differences that made the two types significantly harder than the other Common grade potions he had concocted.
By the ti he felt like he had gotten a good grasp on the process of making Basic Reinforcent Elixirs, it was only then did he proceed to concoct its Uncommon grade counterpart.
After all, although the rarity of the potion went up a grade, there wouldn't be much difference in the concoction process, right?
Oh… how wrong he was to think of that.
While he was still under the impression that Basic and Interdiate Reinforcent Elixirs were concocted the sa way, the young man proceeded to throw the ingredients that made up the latter in a similar order to the forr.
In response, the ingredients that would eventually form a batch of Interdiate Physical Reinforcent Elixir exploded the mont he tried to remove their impurities, instantly dispelling the cloud of Mystic Energy that contained them.
For a while after that, Valyr was left at a complete loss for words, the gears in his mind turning as he wondered what he did that made the ingredients explode all of a sudden.
Thankfully, the information Mystia shared with him answered most of the questions he had on the matter, allowing him to realize that the concoction process for Reinforcent Elixirs depended on the grade he wanted to concoct.
With that, he proceeded to spend a bit more going over the concoction process for Interdiate Reinforcent Elixirs, stopping every once in a while to try and apply the information he learned into practice.
Though the next few attempts after the first one caused all of the ingredients he used to erupt into flas, it only took a couple more after that for him to successfully purify all of the ingredients that went into the elixir.
Unfortunately, that also ant that a new challenge awaited him in the concoction process.
In the end, it took him over 200 attempts to get a firm grasp on the entire concoction process, with almost half of them going towards the final hurdle that stopped him from completing the concoction.
'If not for Mystia pointing out the mistakes I was making, it probably would have taken at least a thousand attempts to get the hang of it,' thought Valyr to himself as he watched the essence inside the cloud of Mystic Energy gradually take on a deep red color.
By the ti the entire cloud was filled with deep red essence, it was only then did the young man relax, clenching his fists in excitent soon after.
"Finally done."
Reminding himself of the reason why he had concocted the elixir in the first place, Valyr went ahead and took out a set of empty vials before proceeding to move the deep red essence into the vials one by one.
By the ti he was done filling vials, he grabbed one for himself and used [Superior Analysis] on it, sowhat curious if he had indeed concocted an Uncommon grade elixir or not.
Ding!
Coincidentally, just as the vial's description appeared within his field of vision, a couple of notifications appeared not long after, prompting him to bring up yet another screen to the side.
[You have completed a prerequisite quest to ascend your class to the next rarity.]
[Concoct 1 elixir or potion of Uncommon grade or higher (1/1).]
Though the notifications more or less confird his doubts, Valyr still looked at the description he brought up.
Seeing that the Reinforcent Elixir he concocted had indeed reached Uncommon grade, a wide smile soon appeared on his face, only to break out into joy-filled laughter not long after.
Feeling like a heavy weight was lifted off his shoulders now that he had successfully concocted a batch of Interdiate Reinforcent Elixir, the young man went ahead and focused his attention on the only quest he had yet to complete for the upgrade.
Ding!
[Would you like to consu 84,452 XP to upgrade 'Basic True Mystic Energy Manipulation' to the max level?]
'Yes.'
Ding!

[You have completed a prerequisite quest to ascend your class to the next rarity.]
[Upgrade [Basic True Mystic Energy Manipulation] to the peak of Common grade (1/1).]
"…And that's that."
Feeling a sense of satisfaction from completing the last quest for the upgrade, the young man closed his eyes for a bit, basking in the feeling as he thought about how much ti had passed since he first got the [Mystic Rune Alchemist] subclass.
Unsurprisingly, the thought caused a wry smile to appear on his face.
After all, with how short of a ti it took him to complete all of the remaining prerequisite quests, the length of ti the subclass remained untouched seed long in comparison.
'Not anymore,' he thought to himself after that. 'I won't neglect it anymore.'
'While I'm still in the Mystic Plane, I'll upgrade the subclass as far as I can.'
'…'
'…'
'…But I do sure hope I don't forget it after that.'
