"...Alright."

"I think we’re close enough to guarantee 100% accuracy."

Keeping an eye on how far they were from the Blazing Direwolf, Valyr stopped Ataraxia from continuing any further by the ti they were about a hundred ters away.

Checking to see if their actions had caught its attention, the young man soon let out a faint sigh of relief as he gave his other self the flintlock.

"To be honest, I don’t know if the flintlock alone would guarantee that you’d kill the Blazing Direwolf in one shot," said Valyr after that. "Just to be on the safe side, buff yourself up a bit before firing."

"I was already planning to do that." Ataraxia nodded in agreent, only to then go through the motions of arming the flintlock with ease.

With the two practically knowing each other’s abilities thanks to [Soul Entanglent], it went without saying that Ataraxia showed no problem in readying firearms, moving his hands as if he had gone through the motions thousands of tis in the past.

By the ti he was done arming the flintlock, he then proceeded to lie on the ground, only to aim the firearm at the Blazing Direwolf’s skull soon after.

"[The First Gunslinger’s Patience]."

Whoosh!

Seeing that his other self was finally beginning to prepare his attack, Valyr went ahead and lied beside him before conjuring a barrier around them.

Oblivious to what the forr was doing, Ataraxia continued to infuse more and more energy into the flintlock, slowly but surely improving the might of the shot he would eventually fire.

By the ti an entire minute had passed, the young man sensed that the skill had reached its limits, prompting him to focus his attention towards improving his own abilities.

"[Limit Break]."

Swoosh!

Inwardly reminding himself to get so more buffing skills by the ti everything was over, Ataraxia closed his eyes for a bit to better grasp the greater strength coursing throughout his body.

Then, feeling like the right ti had finally co, he opened his eyes once more, staring straight at the Blazing Direwolf as he pulled the trigger.

"[The First Gunslinger’s Rage]."

Bang!

At the exact mont the young man made his move, the Blazing Direwolf felt danger all of a sudden, causing it to tense up as it looked around its surroundings to see where the feeling ca from.

Though, just as it had finally figured out the general direction where the feeling originated, the beast was greeted by the sight of a tiny pellet of sorts, which swiftly pierced through its skull like butter before coming out the other side.

’-2,799,800!!!’

As the Blazing Direwolf’s head burst into chunks of at and blood from the shot, a dark red value soon manifested above it, allowing Ataraxia to figure out how much damage he had dealt.

"That... is a lot," said the young man after staring at the number for quite so ti.

Then, closing his eyes for a bit as the gears in his head turned, he soon turned to look at Valyr, who imdiately dispelled the barrier around them.

"What are you thinking about?" the latter asked, curious to hear the train of thought that was going on in his other self’s head.

"The feasibility of killing the Elder Wyvern in one shot," replied Ataraxia as he stood up and returned the flintlock to Valyr. "To be honest, seeing 3 million damage from one shot still doesn’t give enough confidence to continue with the idea."

"After all, the Blazing Direwolf only has a Defense stat of 50,000," he continued as he began to pour out the concerns he had. "In comparison, the Elder Wyvern has a Defense stat of nearly 300,000."

"Add on the fact that the damage I’d deal to the Elder Wyvern would be reduced even further thanks to the greater level disparity, even if I activated that one skill, I’d probably only be able to dish out sothing like 3 million damage to it as well."

"...But then again, it might just be doable."

Listening to the words that left Ataraxia’s mouth, Valyr first thought that his other self had truly given up on the idea of obtaining [Apex Hunter].

After all, it made a lot of sense. Even with the existence of the flintlock as well as the heaven-defying skill his other skill had, Ataraxia still wouldn’t be able to surmount the gap that existed between him and the Elder Wyvern.

Though, when he heard the last couple of words his other self told him, as well as the string of thoughts that he received through their connection soon after, he quickly realized that Ataraxia still believed it was possible.

’Of course, I’m still not 100% sure things will work out the way I think it would,’ the latter said through [Soul Entanglent].

’But... if it does, then we’ll have achieved sothing massive for sure.’

Discussing their plan of action during the fight against the Elder Wyvern a bit more, the two soon returned to where Hath was, who looked back at the two of them as if they were monsters.

"What... what just happened?" he asked, still finding the sequence of events earlier a bit unbelievable.

"I killed the Blazing Direwolf," said Ataraxia in response, his tone making it seem like it was a casual occurrence. "Is there a problem, Sir Hath?"

"Not at all..." The man in question slowly shook his head. "But how did you...?"

"Kill it in one hit?" Valyr looked back at Hath in amusent, only to then take out the flintlock for the latter to see.

Explaining that the flintlock was the key that made killing the Blazing Direwolf in one hit possible, the young man then proceeded to give him a brief story on how he crafted the flintlock from scratch.

By the ti he was done, Hath began to look at both Valyr and Ataraxia in a new light, a hint of awe evident in his gaze.

"To think sothing like that had been invented in the past year," said the man, letting out a wry chuckle. "I didn’t even know there was an ongoing war against the elves and the orcs."

"...Man. I should really keep in touch with those from the empire so more."

Letting out a faint sigh after that, Hath soon returned his attention to the duo. "In any case, now that you’ve fought against a Blazing Direwolf, are you two still going to fight the Elder Wyvern from earlier?"

"We are," said Valyr with a nod, to which his other self nodded in agreent soon after.

"Alright." The man nodded in return.

"Let’s head back to where the Elder Wyvern is, then."
