After Sellifer told Valyr what he needed to do in order to get closer to forming the Azure Trace, she then proceeded to go over the steps in purifying mana with the young man.
Listening to her words, Valyr was reminded of the things Noel had explained to him back then regarding the refinent of Shadow Energy, finding it slightly amusing that the process to refine his mana this ti around was more or less the sa.
'Then again, she did ntion earlier that the purification process ca from her, as well as the fact that the thod works with any type of energy,' thought the young man to himself after that as he inwardly shrugged.
With Valyr's Shadow Energy at the stage of 1st Cleansing in terms of quality, Sellifer decided that his first goal was to raise his mana to the sa stage of quality first.
Nodding in affirmation, the young man went ahead and sat on the ground cross-legged.
Adjusting his position to be more comfortable, he then closed his eyes as he began to take slow but deep breaths.
Slowly but surely, he began to peer inside him once more, slowly bringing himself to the world where his mana resided.
"Huh. I guess there is a good reason why the thod is universal." Finding himself once more in a world of darkness with multiple motes of light lingering around, Valyr was reminded of a scene in the past that caused him to let out a chuckle.
Back then, rather than be greeted by the sight of blue motes of light within a world of black, he was instead greeted by the sight of dark motes of light within a world of black.
With the experience he had obtained during that ti, Valyr more or less knew what he needed to do this ti around.
Whoosh!
Imposing his will on the entire world, Valyr willed the blue motes of light to coalesce near the center of the world as he went over the first stage of purification.
"Before reaching 1st Cleansing, I would have to transform my mana into its pure version first," muttered Valyr to himself.
"If the process is similar to what I did back for Shadow Energy, then all I have to do is remove all of the impurities that float away due to the mana particles mingling with one another."
Taking in a deep breath after those words, he then pushed more of his will into the world, causing all of the motes of blue light within the world to congregate near the center of the void.
Frowning as no impurities appeared from the congregation for quite so ti, Valyr eventually let out a sigh of relief as the first sign of impurities within his mana began to show itself.
Seeing the impurities take on the form of dark blue blobs interspersed throughout the motes of blue light, the young man imposed his will upon them before flinging them away to the edges of the void.
Having already gone through the process in the fast, Valyr made quick work of the impurities as he removed them within the span of minutes.
Or at least, that's how much ti he felt had passed since he began removing the impurities.
Nevertheless, by the ti the last few blobs of impurities had been removed from the congregation of mana, all of the mana particles within the void began to give off a bright blue glow.
Not long after, these mana particles began to congregate upon themselves, transforming into blue pearls that reminded Valyr of the dark pearls his Shadow Energy had taken form in after arriving at the sa stage.
Feeling as if all of the mana in his body had begun to adjust to this new state, Valyr eventually found himself back on the barren ground with Sellifer as a few notification sounds resounded in his mind.
Ding!
[You have removed all of the impurities in your mana.]
[All mana you shall control from now on is bereft of any impurities whatsoever, improving its efficacy and power.]
[Due to this action, you have obtained the passive skill 'Arcane Mark'.]
[The grade of your Arcane Mark has been improved to Pure.]
"Well… color surprised." Sensing the great changes that were happening to Valyr's body the mont he opened his eyes, Sellifer looked at the young man before her with a hint of surprise.
Asking him after that to show his mana, she then saw Valyr conjure a fla of mana, the power and energy contained within the fla more dense and pronounced compared to before.
Confirming that Valyr's mana had indeed advanced to its pure version, Sellifer inwardly let out a long exhale as she thought about the amount of ti the young man had spent refining his mana.
'What… like 30 minutes?' thought the woman to herself, causing her to inwardly shake her head after that. 'What a monster.'
'Then again, almost every Zeihardt I've co across is a monster,' said Sellifer to herself soon after.
As she watched Valyr fiddle with the screens for a bit, she recalled the level of control the young man had shown with his energies.
Now that she knew that he had an absurd level of comprehension as well, the woman's mind gradually began to compare Valyr to the person that allowed humanity to stand their ground.
'Otto Zeihardt…' muttered Sellifer to herself inwardly. 'His talent really reminds of Otto Zeihardt for so reason.'
While Sellifer was preoccupied with comparing the young man to the ancestor of the young man's clan, Valyr looked over the properties of the passive skill he'd just obtained.
Unlike [Shadow Energy Mark], [Arcane Mark] did not act as a storage skill for his mana whatsoever.
If anything, it was a skill that allowed him to view his progress on the road to purifying his mana, as well as the additional benefits he gained from purifying his mana.
Unsurprisingly, [Arcane Mark] was also different from [Shadow Energy Mark] in that regard, with the ascension of his mana to the Pure stage giving him a 2.5% increase to his max HP and MP.
'I wonder if it'll improve my mana regeneration sowhere down the line,' thought the young man to himself, feeling like it was a possibility.
Though, before he could continue to entertain his train of thought, it was interrupted by Sellifer as she told him to ascend his mana to the stage of 1st Cleansing.
And so, he did.
