'Sellifer?' Hearing the woman's voice echo out in his mind, Valyr quickly recalled the conversation he and Noel had before they ca to the Shadow Plane.
Recalling how Noel wanted to talk with Sellifer and ask her if he could be her student, Valyr made use of the talisman Vaughn gave him to have the latter ask Sellifer to contact him. Fortunately, with a bit of explaining, everything worked out in the end, with Vaughn telling the young man that it would only take a couple of hours at most for Sellifer to contact him.
'Considering how much ti Noel and I have spent searching for beasts to kill so far, if I factor in the ti ratio between the Shadow Plane and Veldanyr, it does add up that she would contact at around this ti.'
Inwardly muttering these thoughts to himself, Valyr soon glanced at Noel and gave him a knowing glance, hoping that his gaze conveyed to Noel his intentions that the divine being he wanted to talk to had finally made contact with him.
Unfortunately for him, Noel could not understand the aning behind the young man's glance. Nevertheless, he still felt that Valyr needed so ti on his own through his gaze, so he decided to give the young man the space he needed for the anti.
Getting the peace he wanted from the glance, a faint smile adorned the young man's lips as he finally responded back to Sellifer's ssages. "Before we start, can you hear ?"
"Yeah, I can," replied Sellifer back, her voice continuing to echo through his mind. "So, what made you ask Vaughn to contact ?"
Nodding in response to the woman's response, Valyr did not beat around the bush. "Do you still rember Noel? The one who put on the path of Shadow Energy in the first place?"
"Yeah?" answered Sellifer with a slight hint of confusion. "What about him?"
At those words, a wry smile adorned the young man's face. "Well... how do I put this?"
Scratching the back of his head as he pondered over his words for a bit, Valyr eventually replied. "So... to cut a long story short, he asked to ask you if he could beco your student."
Unsurprisingly, the confusion Sellifer felt deepened because of that. "What for?"
"I don't know." Valyr shrugged his shoulders at the question. "I have a feeling it has sothing to do with Azure Energy or the fact you taught how to wield Azure Energy, but I'm not too sure."
"Does he want to learn how to wield Azure Energy or sothing? Where did he get that idea from?" As these words left Sellifer's mouth, Valyr imagined the woman slightly frowning. "Is it because I gave him the thod to purify Shadow Energy?"
"No idea," said the young man in response, feeling as if that was the only thing he could say at that mont.
After Valyr responded to Sellifer's final question, the young man did not hear from the latter for quite so ti, prompting him to think that the woman was thoroughly pondering over the matter.
Fortunately, Sellifer wasn't silent for long, speaking up once more by the ti a couple of minutes had passed.
Though, rather than continue where their topic left off, the woman instead shifted their conversation to another topic, causing slight shock to appear on the young man's face in response.
"Are you in the Shadow Plane at the mont? I've been picking up a familiar energy signature every ti you respond back."
"I am," replied the young man after getting over his slight shock. "But what does that have to do with our previous topic?"
"It has a lot more to do with it than you think," said Sellifer in response, letting out a slight chuckle after that. "I'm assuming Noel is with you?"
At the mont the woman asked that question, it did not take long for Valyr to figure out her intentions. "Are you planning on coming here?"
"Yeah, I'll be heading there right now," replied Sellifer, her words making Valyr think that the woman was smiling. "Aside from resolving the matter with Noel, it's also a good opportunity for to see how much you've improved since the last ti we've t."
"After all, Vaughn owns the inheritance, so I'm sure he's given you a lot more after our chance encounter."
"Plus, it gives a reason to finally give you a thod to contact rather than go through Vaughn," murmured the woman soon after.
Though, with how soft she spoke as these words ca out, Valyr did not register it and treated it as re gibberish instead.
"Alright then. I'll be waiting." Hearing that Sellifer was coming to where they were, Valyr could only nod in response as they talked for a bit more after that.
Eventually, the two of them ended their conversation, prompting the young man to head to where Noel was to share the good news.
Roaming around the forest for a while, Valyr soon found Noel perched on top of a tree not far away, seemingly admiring the bizarre yet idyllic landscape the Shadow Plane had.
"I'm guessing soone important was talking with you?" Feeling Valyr's presence co closer to him, Noel jumped down from the tree before asking the first question that ca to his mind.
"I guess you could say that." Valyr nodded after thinking about the question for a bit. "To be more specific, I was talking with that divine being you wanted to see."
"Really?" Unsurprisingly, Noel's deanor underwent a massive change after that, looking at the young man with both expectation and excitent. "Did you tell her about my wishes of wanting to beco her student?"
Hearing his question, Valyr nodded in response.
"What did she say, then? Did she agree?" asked Noel back, his body trembling with great expectation.
"She..." Just as the young man was about to respond to his question, a strong presence suddenly appeared from their side, revealing a rift that showed a dazzling woman clothed in
all dark blue.
"I said no."
Whoosh!
Crossing the rift to arrive at the Shadow Plane, Sellifer's aura swiftly spread out in its entirety, imdiately making the two turn pale as they felt like they were re ants standing in front
of a massive elephant.
Seeing the sudden change in their expressions, the woman briefly had a look of realization as she reined in her aura, allowing the color on both Noel and Valyr's faces to return soon after.
Taking a few deep breaths to compose himself, Valyr soon shifted his gaze towards the being that appeared before them, only to fall into a slight daze from the sheer beauty the woman
exuded.
Briefly shaking his head to consciously extricate himself from the feeling, the young man eventually looked at Sellifer once more before asking in slight uncertainty. "Did you co
here with your real body?"
"Yeah." Sellifer nodded, her tone laced with the inherent power of Azure Energy. "I could've made a clone or split a small fragnt of myself to et with you, but it's not like the Shadow Plane forbids the entrance of Divine-level beings."
"In any case..." The woman smiled soon after.
"You've grown a lot since we've last t, Valyr."
