"I can go by myself." Chi Enen felt embarrassed to trouble him.
Assistant Xu insisted, "Let accompany you, you don’t know anyone from the Human Resources Departnt, I can take you directly to the Human Resources Manager."
Chi Enen thought it made sense and no longer declined, "...Okay."
"Miss Chi, let’s go."
He led the way, and Chi Enen had to follow him.
The Human Resources Departnt is on the 68th floor.
Chi Enen followed him, taking the elevator down.
Everyone they encountered greeted him, which showed his position at Li Headquarters.
Chi Enen, however, seed absent-minded and distracted.
Once inside the elevator, Assistant Xu casually asked in a low voice, "Miss Chi, did you have a quarrel with President Li?"
"..." Why did everyone ask her this question?
"Miss Chi, please don’t misunderstand. I didn’t an anything else." He quickly waved his hand, explaining, "I just noticed President Li hasn’t been in a good mood these past two days, so I was concerned."
He decided to play the emotional card, speaking without a pause, "President Li has been working overti intensively these past two days and refuses to eat. This morning, he had a stomachache, and Young Master Si ca to help him and arranged a drip. Recently, there’s too much happening at the company; Old Master Jue just woke up and has thrown several big projects at President Li. I’m worried that if this continues, President Li’s body won’t be able to take it..."
Chi Enen pressed her lips tightly, remaining silent.
Assistant Xu glanced at her reaction and continued, "But the CEO won’t listen to advice, insisting on cramming his work schedule. Today noon, the CEO held several consecutive etings and still hasn’t eaten. Young Master Si specifically ntioned this morning that if the CEO continues to refuse to eat, he’ll have to go directly to the hospital next ti."
Chi Enen pressed her lips tightly; she’s not stupid and could tell the assistant was deliberately saying these things to her.
Probably trying to make her take the initiative to reconcile with Li Beijue.
But the problem is, it’s not a quarrel between her and Li Beijue; it’s a break up.
And it was Li Beijue who ntioned the break up.
Though Assistant Xu’s words were sowhat exaggerated, most were the truth. Li Beijue hasn’t eaten nothing at all these two days, but indeed ate very little.
This morning, he did have a stomachache, and Young Master Si ca to arrange a drip for him.
And today noon, he indeed did not eat.
He thought saying all this, Miss Chi would at least show so reaction. Unexpectedly, the whole thing felt like he was performing a monologue. Except for pressing her lips tight and looking paler, Miss Chi didn’t respond!
Since Chi Enen didn’t respond, he had a belly full of persuasive words but nowhere to use them. He could only sullenly close his mouth slowly.
Fortunately, the elevator opened with a ’ding’ at this ti.
Assistant Xu stepped out first, waiting for her, "Miss Chi, here we are. This is the Human Resources Departnt floor. Follow , and we’ll go straight to find the Human Resources Manager."
"Okay." Chi Enen nodded absent-mindedly and followed.
Li Beijue had a stomachache this morning? Didn’t eat today noon either? Deliberately finding lots of things to do?
She clutched the resignation report tightly, her mind wandering sowhere unknown.
In the blink of an eye, they arrived at the manager’s office.
Assistant Xu knocked on the door and opened it, "Excuse ."
"Assistant Xu, why are you here?" The person inside imdiately set aside their work and greeted them, then subtly sized up Chi Enen beside them, quickly withdrawing their gaze and pretending not to notice Chi Enen, smiling as they shook hands with the assistant.
