The person on the bed lay peacefully with his eyes closed, as if he were asleep, without any reaction, not even a frown or opening of his eyes to scold her for being too soft-voiced or slacking off.
She quietly called out, “Li Beijue…”

It was as if he was extrely tired, with his eyes closed in sleep, the pain from his wound troubling him, making the contours of his face tense, faintly exuding discomfort and rigidness.
Chi Enen pursed her lips, sitting quietly beside the bed, looking at his sleeping face and feeling indescribably pained inside…
She clenched the mobile phone in her hand, her clear eyes full of intelligence, not seeming like soone who could be easily fooled.
Li Beijue hadn’t said how he got his wounds, but Chi Enen guessed it. With his identity, even though they were currently in Country Y, there weren’t many who could injure him, and even fewer who could hurt him so badly. When she pieced together the events before he had left the house, other than Li Beijue’s grandpa whom she had t before, she couldn’t think of anyone else.
All his injuries were because of her, right?
He had defied his grandfather for her, which was why he had received such severe punishnt, right?
Chi Enen covered her mouth, feeling as though her chest had been punched hard, an overwhelming sense of oppression and discomfort engulfing her.
She sat quietly beside the bed for a while, as if making a decision, and then suddenly stood up, picked up Li Beijue’s phone that had been casually placed aside, and tiptoed out of the bedroom.
She didn’t want him to struggle alone any longer. Even if she knew it was unlikely, she still wanted to try and fight for it one more ti!
