Chi Enen’s heart clenched, she couldn’t calm down. As she spoke, she tried to sit up and reached out to pull the hypodermic needle from the back of her hand.
Quan Dongting, however, narrowed his eyes and held her hand, “I’m afraid I can’t let you go back.”
“Why?” Chi Enen asked, and her heart had already flicked through nurous possibilities.
Quan Dongting’s mixed features were deep and well-defined, handso and three-dinsional. His tea-colored pupils rested on Chi Enen’s face, and he sighed, “Because soone is trying to harm you.”
“Trying to harm ?”
She had assud the honourable Duke from the Habsden family would say it was because he wanted to detain her for business dealings with Li Beijue.
She didn’t expect him to say sothing like this.
Chi Enen was sowhat astounded and felt it was a bit absurd.
“I’m just an ordinary citizen, who would want to harm ?”
She had no money, no connections, and no beauty. Why would soone harm her?
“Didn’t you notice the car you were driving had been tampered with?” Quan Dongting’s thin lips parted slightly, and a flash of bone-chilling ruthlessness crossed his face. It seed he was extrely annoyed with the situation.

The car belonged to Li Beijue. If soone wanted to harm, they aid at Li Beijue. It was just an oversight that she had driven that car!
The thought of soone lurking in the shadows wanting to harm Li Beijue made it impossible for her to stay there any longer. She pulled away from the man, removed the syringe, and was about to get up, “I’m sorry, Mr. Quan, but I really have to go.”
