Chapter 695: Chapter 695: Feels Very Much Like Chi Enen
Li Beijue only had to look away for a mont to see the little figure squeeze into the innermost part of the crowd.
His thin lips nearly ford a straight line, and his eyebrows knitted even tighter.
“Make way, please.”
“Who is it?” the person who turned around with impatience imdiately changed their attitude and made way with a love-struck expression.
Li Beijue had just reached the innermost part when he spotted the little one among the crowd.
He then heard a milky voice calling out softly and weakly, “Uncle…”
“Uncle… Uncle… Uncle…”
It felt as if a certain part of his heart had been struck as he looked in the direction of the voice, only to see a little girl with doll-like features and big watery eyes opening her arms and calling out unclearly, “Uncle… juice… Uncle…”
Was she trying to say uncle?
Li Beijue narrowed his pupils, gazing at the little girl who reached out to him and wobbled over to his side. As the little girl who was too young to walk steadily stumbled and was about to fall, he instinctively reached out and caught the child about to tumble.
“Giggle giggle giggle!” The child wasn’t scared at all and even let out a string of bell-like laughter, her eyebrows and eyes curving as she continued to sob and call out, “Uncle… Uncle…”
“I’m not your uncle.”
“Uncle.”
“…”
“Hug!” This ti, her articulation was especially clear.
Li Beijue crouched in front of her, staring coldly at her, unmoving.
Though his gaze wasn’t scary, the cold aura surrounding him was indeed frightening for children, or at least it gave a sense of oppression.
Yet, the little girl who had appeared out of nowhere seed not to be afraid at all; her big watery eyes looked at him like the deer Bambi, and her tender little mouth clearly uttered once more, “Uncle… Hug!”
Baby Chi was afraid that The Neighbor Old Wang would be in a bad mood and simply toss aside the little girl he took one look at and liked so much.
He was just about to speak up.
But then he saw the tall, cold-faced man, as if admitting defeat, lift the child in his arms.
“Giggle!” The little girl seed to love the feeling of being held, flailing her short little fingers and commanding, “Fly…”
“Fly, FeiFei…”
Was she asking him to lift her up high?
His handso face stiffened, and he pressed his thin lips tightly together, rejecting coldly, “No.”
If it were anyone else who heard him say no, they would have wisely kept silent by now.
But the one he was facing was a one-year-old little girl—and from the looks of it, an exceptionally brave one-year-old. She didn’t understand the concept of rejection and kept clamoring, “Fly… Uncle… Fly…”
Although the milky voice was pleasant to hear, too much of it still felt noisy.
The man with the set face wore an expression of impatience; his eyebrows were knotted tightly, and several tis he wanted to put the little girl, whom he didn’t even know, down.
But for so reason, he just couldn’t let go.
He couldn’t explain why, but he felt a peculiar sensation, which made him find the little girl unusually pleasing to the eye.
This pleasant feeling was sothing only one woman had given him—Chi Enen!
He instinctively looked at the little girl’s features.
Since she was still young, her facial contours weren’t fully distinct, but she looked plump and tender, the sort clearly pampered at ho.
Perhaps because of her young age, those big eyes were particularly striking. Her eyelashes were long and curled like butterfly wings, inexplicably bringing comfort to those who saw them.
“Fly… Uncle… Fly…”
Li Beijue’s pupils deepened gradually, growing darker and darker, just as a thought began to erge in his mind…
