She might as well have said nothing.

In the darkness, the man’s voice ca through, teeth gritted with frustration, and the next second, her lips were sealed in a punishing kiss that drained all the oxygen from her lungs before he let her go, “Chi Enen, it seems you’re still in good spirits. Try talking back to again!”
If she talked back to him again, he would leave that little mouth of hers gasping for air!
He spoke too forcefully, pulling at his stomach, and groaned softly, turning over, “I’m going to take a bath.”

She imdiately sat up and turned on the light.

She realized then just how extraordinary Li Beijue’s skin was, so flawless that even from this close, she couldn’t see his pores. As a woman, she truly didn’t know how to describe such skin. God had really given this man the very best of everything, from his looks to his physique, even his skin was impeccable.
“It’s not hot, no fever.” She tested the temperature and murmured to herself as she lowered her gaze.
A hand suddenly appeared on his forehead, the kind of intrusion that would’ve led him to throw any other woman out before she could even touch him.
But, this woman was Chi Enen.
He felt only a comforting sensation.
He squinted his falcon-like eyes and glanced over the little lady in front of him, muttering to herself with downcast eyes. A playful strand of hair slipped from her temple, conveniently shielding the contour of her face, drawing attention to her delicate nose and those long, curling eyelashes.
Chi Enen’s eyelashes were not exceptionally thick but each was long, natural and curled upward, outlining the shape of her eyes in an arch, just like crescent moons, especially comforting and familiar when she looked down.
His Adam’s Apple unconsciously bobbed, suppressing the heat that had again welled up inside him.
Brushing away the oblivious woman’s hand, his thin lips slightly parted, “I don’t have a fever.”
“But you’re uncomfortable,” Chi Enen insisted on her judgnt, furrowing her eyebrows and then suddenly saying, “No, the Hospital Ergency Departnt should still be open for patients, let’s go and have it checked out. I’ll change my clothes right away.”
She got to action without wasting a second, pulling open the wardrobe to grab clothes.
Li Beijue didn’t want to reveal it at first, but seeing her like this, he had no choice but to clamp down on her wrist and stop her, compromising, “There’s no need to go to the hospital, it’s just a stomachache.”
