On the day their mother was buried, Felix moved into the Vosloda estate.

The ticulously trimd beautiful garden, the quaint and luxurious castle, the respectful and courteous servants, the pond with a fierce and handso dragon lying in it—for a long ti Felix had no idea that it was a mutated and evolved Fish-Slicing Dragon. She timidly walked into the main hall, seeing her three family mbers in na.

The appearance seed to be shrouded in darkness, as if always unclear, like a tombstone or the Sword Tomb was Duke Vosloda; with a cold face, glamorous but unable to hide her sharpness was Lady Beverly; and her brother, Demi.

It was much later that Felix heard about the reckless and carefree younger days of Duke Vosloda, and also knew that Beverly was once a beautiful girl, unrivaled in Jiale City and passionate about public welfare, but for the protection of the family, the wayward youth becos a rigid and indifferent Family Head; to protect her son, the charming girl becos a sharp and cruel mother.

From the beginning, she knew her biggest enemy was Demi; he was polite yet never losing his childish innocence, pleasing everyone he t, especially her father. But most of the year, Duke Vosloda was away on business and research, and when she caught the rare monts of her father’s return, she found she couldn’t get a word in.

"The offspring of the Vosloda, being the first is a given."

"Champion? Not bad."

"Teach you swordsmanship? I’ll consider it when I have the ti."

Every ti, every ti, her father was reviewing Demi’s achievents. When Felix tried to approach, that shadow seed not to see her, only a slight nasal sound indicating he acknowledged her presence.

Compared to Demi, Felix’s attempts to please and accomplishnts seed so insignificant. What she could do, Demi could do better; what she couldn’t do, Demi excelled at doing, and moreover...

"Is that the illegitimate child?"

At Demi’s birthday party, Felix appeared before outsiders for the first ti as the second young master of the Vosloda. Under the bright lights, the whispers beneath the table felt like fish bones stuck in the throat, so venomous they made it hard to breathe.

That night Felix went back early to her room at the farthest end of the third floor to hide, not turning on the light, nursing her wounds in the darkness. As a child, she couldn’t fully comprehend everything yet; all she knew was that Demi was the enemy, he had taken her father’s love, leaving her nowhere to place her feet. As long as the dazzling brother existed, the younger sibling would never shine.

It was uncertain where her decisiveness and cruelty ca from, but Felix hid behind a vase in the stairwell of the castle, knowing Demi’s room was on the fourth floor, and he would definitely pass by here. Soon, she heard Demi’s footsteps, and he was alone. The Vosloda Family required family mbers to be independent and self-disciplined; unless leaving the estate, the eldest rarely had attendants.

Yet Demi didn’t walk towards the fourth floor; instead, he headed inside along the third-floor corridor. Felix had no choice but to hug the vase, wanting to throw it at him, but the vase’s weight far exceeded a child’s expectations, and she could only stumble, holding it and charging towards Demi!

Demi reacted as he heard the footsteps and saw Felix behind the vase, intending to block it with his hand. But Felix used all her strength to push forward; even Demi, a few years older, couldn’t hold it back, not only being hit by the vase but also cut by the shards it broke into, leaving cuts all over him!

Felix’s hand was also stabbed by the shards, and the pain brought her reason back to the forefront. Looking at Demi lying amidst the vase’s fragnts, covered in wounds, she finally realized what she had done, trembling in fear, not knowing what to do.

But Demi was remarkably calm, suppressing his voice as he commanded, "Go back to your room, quickly, close the door softly!"

He shouted twice, and with a mind in chaos, Felix instinctively obeyed, hurriedly running, accidentally stepping on a small box beside Demi, covering her shoe sole in cake cream.

Once Felix returned and closed the door, she heard the servants’ cries of alarm and Demi’s awkward apology: "Sorry, I started running in the hallway just now and accidentally hit the vase..."

At that mont, Felix thought everything was okay and sighed in relief, ready to sleep peacefully. But upon waking the next day, she knew it hadn’t been overlooked.

The evidence was the cream-stained footprints trailing from the hallway to her room’s door.

And three days later, she encountered her first poisoning attempt.

...

...

"Felix."

Demi’s voice sounded from outside the door: "We need to talk."

Sonia and Felix exchanged a glance, and Felix loudly replied: "Let’s talk tomorrow!"

"...It’s already six in the morning now."

The Village Girl and the second young master blinked and opened the Miracle Bracelet to find the whole night had passed. Yet outside, the sky was still filled with Dazzling Stars, so they hadn’t realized the ti had changed.

Had they really spent the entire night untangling how to deal with Ash and the others!?

"But I don’t want to see you!" Felix replied anxiously: "When I’m ntally prepared, I’ll et you, but not now!"

After a brief silence, Demi said: "You don’t have to see , but you can’t stay here. Go back to Sword Flower or stay at a hotel; you must sever all ties with everything in this villa, and I’ll handle the rest."

A shiver spread from the two’s spines throughout their bodies—had Demi found out?
