There was nothing particularly special about their encounter. Filly started liking the young man with the sa hair color as hers, Demir, from the first day she t the teaching assistant at university.
His grace, his excellence, his brilliance, his gentleness and kindness—Filly had t exceptional peers before, but no one had ever given her the strange attraction that Demir did.
But there were many people who liked Demir. On the first day of university, Filly heard at least five people say they wanted to pursue Demir, and not all of them were won. Yet, she was nervous to death in front of Demir, stamring with a low voice. Even though Demir would listen to her gently, she still felt ashad and rarely dared to interact with him, only observing this campus heartthrob from afar.
At this mont, Filly suddenly rembered sothing and asked, "Did Senior Demir win an award?"
"He should have."
Sister Lea replied, "I saw online that there’s a project called ’Novel Carbon Allotrope Single Crystal’ among the award-winning projects from our school. This is a project that Demir’s team has been researching for a long ti; there’s no one else but him. Even among the overall University Cup award list, this is the most prestigious project."
Filly nodded with partial understanding. The University Cup is a competition organized by the Jashi University Alliance, known for its generous prizes and wide attention. Except for particularly niche fields, most projects receive significant investnt or even comrcialization, serving as a shortcut for students to achieve success.
Even the Ministry of Education considers University Cup awards as educational achievents of higher institutions. Simply put, the more awards a university wins, the more financial grants it receives the following year.
So it’s no wonder that Nebula University made the award ceremony so grand, especially with reporters surrounding the event. Plus, there was the issue of the lab building explosion a few days ago, so they definitely needed so good news to offset that.
Filly also participated in the University Cup’s "Fashion Design Project," but purely for participation and credit, with no chance of winning.
As the bell rang, the students’ chatter gradually subsided, and a professor took the stage, announcing loudly, "Leaders, students, teachers, and visitors from all walks of life, good morning. With the successful conclusion of the University Cup, our school is honored to receive eight award nominations..."
"Eight?"
"Wasn’t it only seven?"
Not only the students, but even the journalists who had prepared their drafts were confused. The professor continued, "...among which seven are regular nominations, and one is a special nomination added later. Because of the outstanding quality of a project submitted by our students, it received strong recognition from a special advisor of the University Cup committee. To comnd our students’ excellent achievents, the committee decided..."
Filly didn’t hear the rest; the opening speech was bound to last a few minutes, so she used the ti to go to the restroom. After attending to her personal needs, she suddenly heard footsteps outside.
And male voices.
"Did you see his expression?"
"I saw it, hilarious."
Why were there n talking in the won’s restroom? Unless...
Filly glanced around and saw a "flirty young won friendship ad" amid the "cheating ads" and "leaked exam ads" in the corner. Clearly, the target audience for the flirty ad did not include genuine young won.
It was her first ti in the auditorium restroom, and she hadn’t carefully checked the sign outside, accidentally going into the wrong one...
"That’s what happens when years of hard work are snatched away. He was so careless, other than his experints, he really didn’t pay attention to publishing papers."
"He actually ca to the venue. If I were him, I’d have just stayed ho, let alone co to see soone else take the award."
Hmm?
Filly perked up her ears, thinking how the wrong restroom could lead to so juicy gossip. Soone’s University Cup award-winning project was actually stolen by soone else?
"Serves him right, lots of people at school can’t stand him, you think he’s really that popular?"
"But I’m a bit curious, isn’t his father the hospital director? Shouldn’t he have so social influence, aren’t Ulus and his crew worried...?"
"His father disappeared over a month ago, which was exactly during the University Cup evaluation phase. I bet Ulus and they knew this and dared to act, otherwise they would have been more cautious."
As the sound of urination ceased, the conversation between the two outside gradually faded away.
Filly thought, they didn’t even wash their hands... No, could the person they were discussing be Senior Demir?
But both an award candidate and soone whose father is a hospital director, it should only be Senior Demir.
Senior’s father disappeared a month ago? But as a dignified hospital director, how could he suddenly disappear?
Moreover, senior’s research project, developed over several years, was completely stolen by others because of carelessness? Senior knew about this but still ca to the award ceremony, watching soone else receive his honors?
Filly pondered as she pushed open the door, but at the sa ti, the stall next to hers also opened.
The blonde girl thought she was dood; she might be mistaken for a flirty student, and hopefully, she wouldn’t encounter soone evil. If the other party had malicious intent, even if she could defend herself, the rumor about fighting with n in the n’s restroom could haunt her entire university life.
As she turned her head, she saw soone with equally dazzling blonde hair.
