"Watch out for the impact!"
As the final Starry Sky Barrier was about to break, Dedarose signaled everyone to move away to avoid the impending explosive aftermath!
Seeing the white light pillar in the fortress about to vanish, Sonia and Diya, though anxious, had no choice but to strategically retreat. The spatial explosion from the Starry Sky Barrier was too deadly. They got lucky the first ti without dying, the second ti they had Diya’s Ti Stop Holy Domain, the third ti they could only stay away, or else soone would really die.
Crack.
At the mont the Starry Sky Barrier shattered, everyone held their breath, waiting for the ensuing chaotic explosion.
Swoosh.
Suddenly, hundreds of streaks of starlight flew out from within the fortress, disappearing beyond the heavenly curtain in the blink of an eye.
The Gods of Four Pillars Mages were stunned.
Did it seem like...Church Mages were fleeing?
But why were they escaping so fast?
The next second, everyone saw the answer.
Boom!
Thousands of Four-winged Illusions surged into the fortress’s light pillar like mad dogs released from a cage, or like water rushing in after a plug was pulled from a basin. As they charged, they even attacked the light pillar, as if inside it lay an enemy they deeply abhorred.
If the Church Mages didn’t flee imdiately, they would surely be overwheld by the Magic Miracle!
"This," Dedarose was taken aback, completely unprepared for such a situation, "We..."
Suddenly, a Blood Moon-Shattered Lake struck towards the light pillar, but it didn’t seem to affect the Four-winged Illusions much.
"Useless." Sonia imdiately said, "Attacking the light pillar from the outside won’t work, but there may be tools or rituals inside connecting both heavenly curtains... is there a way to get in?"
Everyone exchanged glances; now the light pillar area was like a boiling nest of cockroaches, facing thousands of miracle attacks upon entry, even a Legendary Mage couldn’t—
"There is."
The most beautiful woman under the Starry Sky took a deep breath and gave a pair of earplugs to the Sword Maiden, "You will only hear my singing next; when you can’t hear it anymore, you must imdiately use your Holy Domain to get out!"
Sonia gave her a deep look and nodded gently.
The Witch imdiately said, "I want to go too!"
"I can only protect one person." The Chaos Songstress said apologetically.
"There’s no need for both of us to go, I’ll be back soon." Sonia assured, then spread her wings and dove into the frenzied group of mage projections. Nurous Miracles passed by her, yet none could affect her in the slightest.
Listening to the live singing of Dedarose, she easily broke into the fortress. Even though the fortress was mostly destroyed by the Four-winged Illusions, the village girl could see that the Church had long prepared here, with all necessary facilities and houses intact.
Looking at the light pillar getting smaller ahead, Sonia took a deep breath and decisively rushed into it.
But just as she entered the light pillar, Dedarose’s singing disappeared.

"It’s really hard to return this favor. I planned to act when soone else kidnapped or attacked you, but since you rarely leave ho, even criminals don’t seek you out." The red-haired girl glanced at the golden fish’s corpse, "I didn’t expect that you’d either not encounter trouble or face world-shaking big troubles."
Ash took several deep breaths, ensuring his ribs hadn’t pierced his organs, then smiled and said, "You followed us all the way here? Did you swim over?"
"You say that like you didn’t swim over." The red-haired girl frowned slightly, "I didn’t see you having a boat."
Ash chuckled, warmly saying, "Thank you, thank you for swimming so far to save ."
The fiery-tempered red-haired killer felt sowhat awkward, turned away, and said, "It’s nothing, I deserved it."
"It’s dangerous here for you, you should go." Ash said seriously, "Many people want to kill you here."
"Plenty of people want to kill everywhere." The red-haired girl glanced at him, "And you—"
"I’ll go with you, you can ride with ." Ash decided on the spot, his injuries made it impossible for him to continue participating in the Angel Hunt, "I know you don’t want to accept my protection, I’ll bring you back to Gaia and then leave you. But it’s truly very dangerous recently, unless absolutely necessary, you must not expose yourself or commit any high-profile cris like at the police station. If you must kill soone, tell , I can help you, and also..."
Watching Ash babble and advise her, the red-haired girl showed a fleeting happiness on her face, but it quickly turned to confusion, and finally transford into deep wariness.
"I don’t want it."
"Ah?" Ash was taken aback.
"I don’t want any of your assistance." The red-haired girl said coldly, "The mighty Ash Heath, why are you so nice to a fugitive like ?"
"Because, because you saved !" Ash imdiately found a perfect reason, "Isn’t it natural to be nice to soone who saved your life?"
"I said, we are already even!" the red-haired girl declared, "Your kindness towards is to make indebted to you, so I’ll kill for you?"
"No, I don’t need you to repay , I just want—"
"Just want to help unconditionally?" The red-haired girl sneered, "You’ve only t twice, why would you do so much for ? Why aren’t you just as kind to strangers?"
"Or do you want to use that clumsy excuse again?" She showed disdain, "Claiming you like ?"
Ash took a deep breath, "I know you don’t trust , it’s okay, but you’re really being targeted by many people now, it’d be best if we returned to Gaia together..."
The red-haired girl suddenly stepped forward, grabbed Ash by the collar, her turbulent scarlet eyes staring intently at him, "I don’t need any help, especially not from you."
"I’ve repaid my debt, from now on, I won’t appear before you, and you’re not allowed to appear before , otherwise I’ll kill you."
With that, she pushed Ash away forcefully, turned her head aside, baring resentnt in her voice, "I’m already beginning to regret saving you, no one has ever made this disgusted..."
Ash thought maybe he truly couldn’t communicate with won. It was clearly the Sword Maiden’s projection he was talking to, yet he ended up making their enmity as deep as the sea. He couldn’t help but wonder if it would be a similar situation if he t the Sword Maiden in real life, given that they only t online (Void Realm), much like internet friends.
At this mont, Ash noticed the red-haired girl’s voice was getting quieter. She seed lost briefly, then touched her ears as if trying to clear them.
When she turned to look at Ash, both of them were stunned.
After a brief silence, Ash hesitantly asked, "Sword Maiden?"
The red-haired girl stared at him blankly, reached out to touch his face, and wiped away the blood on it. Then she opened her arms and cautiously embraced Ash, nuzzling softly against him like a kitten.
Ash relaxed, gently holding her, the two of them embracing in the storm of silver feathered light.
After a mont, a voice broke the silence, "This isn’t a dream?"
"No... probably?"
"Yes, I am the Sword Maiden."
