“You really don’t want any? I make so excellent grilled squid!”
Watching Yinzhi busy at the barbecue stand, Ash sighed, “Do you have to eat it now?”

Ash was left with no choice. Although it sounded like just an excuse for greed, Yinzhi did have a point. Those with the most combat power, like them, didn’t need to rush to the Rainbow Light Column. In fact, if they arrived first, the other demons might unite against them.
Yinzhi picked up so cumin and chili powder, “Do you like it spicy?”
“More cumin, no chili,” Diya advised.
Ash glanced at her, and Diya blinked, “In reality, it’s hard for to eat unhealthy fried foods. They all treat like a child.”
“Because you are still a child,” Ash laughed.
“No, I’m not!” Diya pouted, “I can now temporarily switch back to an adult state, lasting up to 20 minutes!”
Yinzhi gathered the squid skewers together and casually said, “20 minutes is not enough, is it?”
“20 minutes isn’t enough?” Diya looked at Ash in shock.
“Why are you asking ?” Ash looked bewildered.
Yinzhi handed them the squid skewers. Ash, to conceal his identity, of course, didn’t eat, while Diya accepted them and munched happily, one skewer after another.
After Ash and Diya regrouped, he decisively agreed to ally with Yinzhi. He was hesitant before, worried he couldn’t beat Yinzhi, but now with the Witch with him, surely two Legendary Mages couldn’t lose to one demon, right?
After allying with Yinzhi, they had three forces. If this scene was only accessible to Holy Grail holders, the total number likely wouldn’t exceed ten, and with everyone having opposing positions, as long as they didn’t provoke others to unite, they’d have virtually no rivals.
Yinzhi took the lead, bouncing along, browsing storefronts and occasionally grabbing items in a five-finger discount style. She stayed within ten paces of Ash, who could have used his Heart Sword to pierce her throat if he wanted to, yet she seed entirely unguarded against Ash, as if they were just friends on a shopping trip.
But Ash didn’t plan to make a move against Yinzhi.
If they could eliminate the other demons, then of course Yinzhi had to be dealt with thoroughly. But before that, keeping Yinzhi around ant they had one more escape route from Hell, after all, even if they wanted to be pets, they’d need to find a keeper.
More importantly, Yinzhi said she saved Harvey and Igula. Even if her intention was to recruit them, Ash had to acknowledge the gesture, not the motive.
He wouldn’t let Yinzhi go because of it, but until she broke away willingly, he wouldn’t hurt this teammate first.
Yinzhi strolled ahead while Ash and Diya trailed behind. Though a third party was present, the two hadn’t seen each other in ages, and even if they didn’t give each other a long-awaited hug, they should be eagerly sharing how much they’d missed each other.
However, the reality was that even though Ash and Diya walked very close together, they remained silent, not even daring to look at each other, like the most familiar strangers.
Diya envisioned their reunion many tis, maybe Ash waking up in bed, her sitting on top saying good morning; maybe Ash leaving a room and them eting eyes across a staircase, a look lasting a lifeti; or maybe Ash lying in her lap, her lowering her head for a gentle kiss just as Ash slowly opened his eyes…
As for why she was on top of Ash or why he was in her lap, those were minor details not worth dwelling on.
But none ca to be the current scenario!
Why was it awkward? Why couldn’t they speak? Why?
She knew why.
Because this was their first ti ‘alone’ after Diya had revealed her true identity.
Before, when the Sword Maiden was around, Diya focused on sparring with her, so her relationship with Ash continued as ‘Witch’ and ‘Observer,’ not ‘Lissdia’ and ‘Ash,’ so they could function normally.
The Sword Maiden simply postponed their conflict, and Ash wasn’t prepared to accept that ‘the Witch is Lissdia.’ Diya hadn’t figured out how she wanted to interact with Ash either.
Now the Sword Maiden was absent, though Yinzhi was present, both had realized their shift in identity.
Observer and Witch could be allies or lovers, but what about Ash and Diya?
Realizing this, suddenly Diya found that even the grilled squid lost its flavor.
The White Queen comforted, “You two just need ti; Ash loves us.”
Black Butler: “Why don’t you just kiss him? I bet the Sword Maiden did last ti.”
Red Death Cultist: “Rember to wipe your mouth first, otherwise having your first kiss taste like grilled squid would be too weird.”
White Queen: “Stop ddling, Liss’ still here!”
Liss: “Why can’t I be? I also— White sister, don’t co over! I won’t say anything!”
Diya quickly regained her composure. She was, after all, Her Majesty who dared traverse the realm alone to find Ash, not one to be easily discouraged by small setbacks. Even if Ash was rely embarrassed, even if Ash didn’t like her, she’d bind him with her heartstrings to take him back as her prince.
Breaking the awkward atmosphere herself, Diya kept recalling Ash’s posture in bed to bolster her courage, but the thought of the living Ash beside her quickly led her mind astray…
Thud.
Feeling a nudge on her rear, Diya looked at Ash in shock, but Ash remained nonchalant, looking toward the roadside store, as if he wasn’t the culprit.
Diya bit her lower lip, kicking back with one foot, which Ash deftly dodged. However, when Ash raised an eyebrow and turned back, he saw Diya spinning 180° in the air.
Thud!
Ash stumbled a few steps forward from the kick, rubbing his rear while playfully chiding, “That’s cheating, kicking twice in a row, let kick back!”
“Spinning kick only counts as once!” Diya stuck her tongue out, keeping her body facing Ash, guarding her backside.
Back when Ash and Liss road the streets, Liss loved this playful kicking, a secret between them. They exchanged glances filled with laughter. Ash gestured to the Witch, wiping oil from her lips with his sleeve, the earlier awkwardness was gone, and they seamlessly adapted to their new relationship.
“Hey, Observer, wipe mine too; my hands are full.”
With hands full of food, Yinzhi approached, but Diya was quicker to lend a hand, “I’ll do it!”
“Thanks, Witch!” Yinzhi smiled sweetly, stuffing her mouth with more food, not forgetting to pass Diya a fry – it seed she planned to munch her way there.
Watching Yinzhi’s back, Diya quietly asked, “Is she my projection in Allstars?”
