She had once again reverted to that powerless girl.

Filly’s bloody tears dripped onto the sword hilt, and she let out a breath that slled of blood, rasping out a word of thanks to no one in particular, "Thank you."

When she lifted her head, beneath the damp golden hair was a stubborn face with tightly pressed lips.

"Don’t touch the Holy Grail."

A whisper, origin unknown, reached her ears. Filly almost felt like laughing. Did she still stand a chance of victory now? How could she possibly touch the Holy Grail? And even if she won, she would surely hand the Grail to Ash’s disposal, but now...

It’s already... too late.

I’m sorry, I’m really, really sorry...

Since we t, I haven’t accomplished a single thing, always troubling everyone... The hope that we finally found, lost again...

I can’t save myself, I can’t save anyone... I don’t even have a weapon anymore!

Bloody tears blurred her vision, and Filly bit her lip hard enough to almost draw blood because if she didn’t, the imnse grief would break her psychological defenses and make her cry before these most detestable demons.

She was already going to die disgracefully and didn’t want to bring sha to the Kingdom of Allstars.

But the Allstars would be destroyed... Sister Rose would die... Nia would die too... All our efforts wasted...

What should I do, what should I do, Ash...

Help , Ash!

"Filly, catch!"

Filly turned her head to see an Oracle Cot speeding along the track to catch up with Canaan. Soone inside punched out the car’s front window, and with a forceful throw that was likely to dislocate an arm, they hurled a sword towards her!

Even as Filly caught the sword, she could hardly believe it. Even Yin Zhi raised her eyebrows in surprise, not expecting a second destabilizing factor.

But what difference does it make to have a weapon now? The Technique Spirit that could wield miracles was already...

However, the mont Filly gripped the hilt, Yin Zhi’s eyes widened in astonishnt. Even Long Yuan sensed the change in Filly’s aura, putting together the broken War Axe’s haft into a long stick, and coughed a laugh, "Yin Zhi, Fate does not favor demons."

There’s still a chance.

Filly could feel that the Phantom’s combat skills still lingered within her, that she could continue to stand on this battlefield and fight the demons to the last mont! Although the price would be her life, she still had the qualification to pay this price. What complaints could she have?

Moreover...

She turned her head to see Ash, who was driving to catch up, noticing his anxious expression, his battered and bruised body, which made Filly feel both heartache and admiration.

She knew that no words of hers would persuade him to leave, just as Ash wouldn’t be able to make her give up.

The girl’s eyes shimred with a glossy radiance. She vigorously wiped her bloody tears away, revealing a dirty but astoundingly beautiful sweet smile on her face.

She could die with no regrets.

Turning around and facing away from the road, Filly gripped her sword tightly, charging towards the demons as if leading an entire army.

"If it must be a dog-eat-dog situation..." Yin Zhi’s face was void of any humor, "I am quite adept myself."

"No matter what ans you used to stand here," Long Yuan spoke calmly, "I acknowledge you."

As the Rain Curtain was torn apart once more, three demons unleashed a bloody storm atop a car moving at 350 km/h. This ti, it was a fight to the bitter end!

Ash watched the Canaan get closer and closer, indifferent even as the rain passed through the shattered car window to hit his face. He kept his eyes fixed on the radiant Rose inside the carriage and the barely visible figures of Filly and the others on the roof, resolutely pulling the car top into convertible mode.

The Oracle Cot had a top speed of 500 km/h, and he had been speeding at full throttle to catch up with the Canaan. But reaching the battlefield was just the first step; he next had to join the demon war in his Mortal Body!

He had no idea how he could achieve any victory, but he knew he had to go, even if it was just to block a single attack for Filly. He knew that such thinking was so ridiculous that even Igula wouldn’t bother to mock him, but by now, everyone was mad, and he couldn’t think too much, nor could he afford to. The more thought he gave it, the more cowardly he might beco, and he couldn’t be cowardly because he was the only support for that girl up ahead.

Filly was right in front, fighting with all her might; how could he sit back and watch her die?

Neither the Gods of Four Pillars, the Mage’s Handbook, Touch, nor Fate—let wager my life and see if you are truly willing to favor !

The engine roared thunderously, as if the speeding car was about to take off. No one had raced a car on a high-speed rail track before, and no one had jumped from a 500 km/h car to a 350 km/h train, but Ash might be the first, and perhaps the last.

Co on.

Ash planted one foot on the seat, ready to disengage his seatbelt and leap over.

At that mont, in the midst of fighting fiercely with the demons, Filly, full of reluctance yet decisively stomped hard on the car roof.

Yin Zhi mirrored her action.

"For the last ti," Yin Zhi said softly.

The demons’ brute force caused the Canaan to abruptly stall. Although it quickly sped up again, the brief hesitation was enough for the Oracle Cot to slam directly into its tail!

Bang!

The powerful inertia of the collision almost hurled Ash forward, but his battle-hardened survival instincts were sufficient for him to instinctively struggle with the heavy steering wheel. The Oracle Cot spun twice on the track, its tires screeching against the rails with a harsh sound as scorching air evaporated along the tires.

Despite having barely driven a car for a few days, Ash surprisingly handled it with uncanny instinct; the Oracle Cot incredibly stayed on track, even returning to face forward, continuing to charge without reducing speed, closely chasing the Canaan.

However, Ash found that the Oracle Cot wasn’t catching up to the Canaan. Instead, he saw the distance between the Canaan and the Oracle Cot gradually widen, Filly and Rose’s figures shrinking little by little.

Blood from an unknown source was blown by the wind into his eyes, turning his eyelashes red. Without wiping away the blood from his eyes, he blankly looked down at the dashboard, seeing the engine failure light illuminated. The speed of the Oracle Cot was dropping—400 km/h, 380 km/h, 360 km/h, 350 km/h... Even using all his strength to press the accelerator, he couldn’t bring the Oracle Cot back to full performance.

"No!" Ash’s fingers nearly crushed the steering wheel, trembling in his voice, "No."

If the first ’no’ was a refusal, his second ’no’ was a plea.

Pleading for the engine not to have failed, pleading for the Oracle Cot to catch up, pleading for the Canaan to slow down, pleading with Fate...

Don’t turn him into the Observer.
