Capítulo 1364: Chapter 999: Reunion and Farewell

I actually really dislike sunlight because its warmth makes it hard for to tell if I’m dreaming.

In the wheelchair, Igula opened his eyes, specks of light adorning his eyelashes, casting a dreamlike and surreal beauty over everything before him.

He saw Ash and two young girls embracing each other, and next to them, there was even a phantom of a girl holding a Silver Lamp. Though the surroundings were a battlefield of ruins and debris, they seed to be sitting on a verdant lakeside, bathed in the world’s greatest blessings. The forest sent gentle breezes their way, the mirror-like lake reflected their monts, and even ti beca kind to them, making this mont as long as possible, ensuring all beautiful stories could catch up to them.

He raised his hands, pressed his index fingers and thumbs together to form a rectangle, framing them as if he wanted to capture this mont in his mory.

The red-haired girl was naturally the Sword Maiden Ash had ntioned countless tis, the black-haired girl was undoubtedly Empress Yisu Diya, and the phantom of the girl was likely the resurrected Silver Lamp. These were the partners he longed for, the lovers he would et at any cost.

Though he didn’t know how the Silver Lamp turned back from a Divine Being to a human, Igula wasn’t surprised at all. When Ash vowed to return to the Dark Forest, he knew that even a Divine Being couldn’t escape the clutches of this scoundrel. If he didn’t already know that there were no male iwa in this world, he would’ve liked to test Ash’s ancestry.

Igula glanced at the vast and boundless sky. Without anyone else explaining, he could deduce the truth behind the shattered Heavenly Curtain of Dazzling Star.

The initial shattering of the Starry Sky in the Kingdom of Stars was probably a magnificent rebellion initiated by the Sword Maiden and others against it. The fundantal reason they could finally leave Ruby Mountain was that the starry sky on the Dazzling Star’s side perished, causing the Heavenly Curtain that sealed Ruby Mountain inside and out to collapse.

A bunch of lunatics, Ash’s side used his Heavenly Kingdom of Souls to attack the cage ticulously set by the Divine Lord. The Sword Maiden’s side challenged the Wonders that covered the earth for millennia with re mortal bodies, just because the Divine Lord separated them.

How amusing that the Divine Lords’ failure was rely because they obstructed one… or rather several romances.

I wonder if the Magic Master of Dazzling Star regrets provoking Ash now.

Even though eting required overcoming so many difficulties, and eting only brought more troubles, they seed more afraid of never being able to et each other again in this life.

But because of all this, Ash now faces the greatest challenge of his life.

Previously, at least, it was a long-distance relationship, and conflicts could be buffered. But now that they’re all gathered together, Igula is really curious how he plans to reconcile the conflicts between his lovers.

The possibility of harmonious coexistence among lovers is a fantasy only Ash would entertain. He hasn’t even considered the type of won he’s involved with. As his psychologist, Igula’s understanding of the Sword Maiden and others is even more precise than Ash’s own—let’s not talk about the Sword Maiden; even the seemingly weak Diya is by no ans simple.

Ash is unaware, trapped in the situation, but Igula, watching from afar, keenly realized that Diya’s repeated submission, saying things like “I just hope we can be together” and “willing to share love with the Sword Maiden,” was actually only adding fuel to the fire by retreating to advance.

Diya knew she couldn’t compete with the Sword Maiden and that she had no chance of winning in a real fight. But stepping back not only garnered Ash’s pity, it also made the Sword Maiden the only disruptor of unity.

Diya also knew that the Sword Maiden would absolutely refuse such requests, and if the Sword Maiden continued to be stubborn, she might end up depleting Ash’s feelings. So, in the end, she would be the ultimate winner.

And the newly joined Silver Lamp is even more significant, as a woman with a resolute mind who wouldn’t be swayed even when shouldering world-ending responsibilities. The probability of her willingly washing her hands to make soup, without contesting for favor or engaging in internal disputes, approaches zero.

If Igula must say, the won truly suitable for Ash would be those like Rose, Filly, and Nia. Though it sounds strange, Ash, with his garbage star sign, is indeed a bane to good girls. While Filly and others might be wronged, they would still accept the fact that Ash’s heart is shattered into countless pieces. Those favored always have nothing to fear.

This reunion of theirs is neither the end of disaster nor necessarily the start of happiness.

Underneath the silk canopy lies a chaotic scene, where they would be tortured endlessly.

Though Igula is curious about Ash’s outco, the fate between them has exhausted itself.

The Technique Spirit silently initiated. Engrossed in the real sky, the Four Pillars God Sect didn’t notice Igula leaving the wheelchair. The Swindler approached the Necromancer and asked, “You’ve also sensed the issue with the Void Wings, right?”

“Yes.” Harvey lifted the coffin that ferried him, and upon seeing the body asleep inside, he smiled: “Long ti no see, Alice.”

“Do you think it can help you?”

“No,” Harvey strapped the coffin to his back. “But I’m not driven by desires for returns when creating family. In the necromancer’s legends, every ti we create a Necromancy, another family mber awaits on the other side of the Death Veil, and that’s the origin of the term ‘family’. For now, I take care of Alice, but in the future, Alice will take care of . Being with family, I receive the family’s protection.”

“Having the dead waiting for you in Hell seems more like a curse, doesn’t it?”

“If you see death as a parting, then indeed.” Harvey said, “But in the necromancer’s worldview, death is just a journey we must eventually embark upon. Like growing up, it’s not saying goodbye to the past; it’s just us taking different paths in the future.”

“Not everyone accompanying us till now can accompany us to the future. My only regret is that you guys didn’t die; otherwise, you too could beco my family in the future.”

Igula laughed, “After this journey, I’ve reached my limit being with you. After death, please just let be free.”

“But, family…” He slipped his hands into his pockets, lifted his head, feeling sunlight caress his sculpture-like handso face, “It’s a term entirely unrelated to Blood Moonians. Yet I didn’t expect necromancers to yearn for such a thing. We Spirit Mages are only interested in money and power, enjoying the pleasure of trampling on others’ dignity. The only ones we treasure are ourselves; everyone else is an enemy.”

“Because you’ve never felt the embrace of the dead,” said the curly-haired one with black skin. “Even if it’s a coffin, sleeping alone can feel empty. Once you’ve experienced warmth, even if it’s cold, our free consciousness will still crave the sa thing.”

“I wouldn’t.”

“Really? But during your travels, you could sleep soundly even on a fast train,” Harvey laughed. “I still rember Ash complaining that you could be found hiding just about anywhere other than a bed.”

“As long as family is by your side, you can sleep peacefully even in a coffin,” he said. “When we’re no longer around, make sure to rest well.”

Igula found it both amusing and exasperating, never expecting to be cared for by Harvey. Shooting him an amused glance, the Four Pillars God Sect’s female mage was stunned by the allure in his eyes and brows, although she ignored them due to the Technique Spirit’s influence, unsure why her heart was racing.

“Let’s go.”

“Not saying goodbye?”

“If we say goodbye, we won’t be able to leave.”

Igula and Harvey slipped away unnoticed, and Ash remained unaware of it because they never intended for Ash to know.

During their journey among the Allstars, they had already privately agreed—they would conduct the Demigod Promotion Ceremony independently.

If the ceremony tested strength, they might have sought Ash’s help, but it tested the mage’s talent, will, and knowledge. Even if you beat them until their heads burst, they would never admit Ash was stronger in these areas.

Igula and Harvey still had their pride. Since the Hell Trial was unavoidable, they would ascend to the Demigod Rank with dignity!

More importantly, Igula privately asked Vishi if the Demigod Promotion Ceremony could be assisted. Vishi replied that if it involved dealing with those cowardly Ghouls in Hell, any Divine Lord could help. But if it required direct participation in the ceremony to share the burden of Hell’s pressure, only other Legendary Mages eligible for promotion could assist.

“But almost no one would do this,” Vishi said. “The Void Realm won’t allow mages to take advantage. The more people promoting to Demigod together, the exponentially more challenging the promotion becos. At least in the thousands of years I’ve lived, I’ve never seen a successful multi-person promotion, plenty where enemies barged in causing death, though.”

After Ash acquired the Heavenly Kingdom of Souls, almost no mage from ancient to modern tis had an easier promotion, but its complexity would rise if he were to help Igula and Harvey. The exponentially growing Hell Trial would make it impossible even to help them, as Ash might not be safe himself.

Igula and Harvey weren’t refusing Ash’s help out of pride but because things might worsen if he insisted on helping.

They were willing to bet their lives on Ash, but they were even more willing to grasp their own fate!

Not all paths can be traveled together; sotis, it’s better to walk alone.

They aren’t without a chance; during the Angel Hunt, they acquired several Seventh Feathers, and in the Dream Treasury, they gained several legacies enhancing their Soul Foundation. Most importantly, in their final journey among the stars, they participated in a demon war significant enough to be recorded in history and naturally stepped into the Legendary Realm.

The Legendary is an ethereal Magic Realm because the term isn’t used for describing quality, like silver and gold, nor for outcos, like the Holy Domain.

It’s used to encapsulate life.

Only a mage living a legendary life with magic might step into the Legendary Realm, and a legendary life implies daring to change the world—but changing the world inevitably ans opposing old conservative powers, like nations, systems, and Divine Lords!

Thus, Igula isn’t qualified to criticize the Sword Maiden; any mage who becos Legendary is a daredevil with no sense of awe, himself included!

They once fought alongside demons, disrupted Divine Lord’s arrangents, and the suprely superior beings were their enemies. How could they fear a re Hell Trial? If they conquer Hell, it would be as it should be; if they stop short, they would have no regrets!

Besides…

Igula stepped over the rubble, glancing one last ti at everyone on stage.

If Ash were still alone, they might have stayed, facing death together, but since Ash found the ho he always longed for, there was no need for them to stay.

If they succeed, a reunion in Hell awaits; if they fail, they can quietly disappear.

Ash has lost much already; they are more suited to be forgotten.

“Ah, he still owes a wish.”

“Yeah, and I owe him a pair of coffins as a wedding gift. How about—”

“Let it go, Harvey, let it go, leave them be, let’s just go.”
