The Sword Maiden, Witch, and Silver Lamp all have a Bonds Level of 4, which can temporarily be raised to 5 to trigger Void Wings sharing.
However, Vishi only has a Bonds Level of 3, and raising it temporarily would only bring it to 4.
It’s odd, really—everyone has a Bonds Level of 4, but only the Sword Maiden’s level increased by two; the Witch and Silver Lamp rely increase by one.
"Why is our Bonds Level so low?" Vishi was dumbfounded.
Ash shrugged: "Because I truly love them. Reflect on that yourself."
Though he said so, and it was indeed the truth, the Sword Witch, Silver Lamp all had complex expressions upon hearing it, as if feeling that soone had insulted the phrase "truly love."
"That’s certainly not my problem!" Vishi said, hands on her hips, looking pitifully resentful: "I’m truly in love with you, so the reason must be you!"
"What will you do when I break the chain?"
"I’ll put the chain on you."
"Can’t you at least pretend to deceive ?!"
"I can’t deceive you anyway," Vishi said as she looked up at the boiling fury of the Dark Hell, anxious, "What should I do then?! If you don’t dye with Supre Color, I might not be able to bear the hell that has beco many tis more difficult! If I am to die, I surely want to drag you along with !"
Ash also felt helpless because he knew Vishi was probably right—the problem indeed lay with him.
Vishi wasn’t the kind who heartlessly pursued strength. On the contrary, she was rich in emotions, indulgent in love and hate. Avenging past grievances was almost her basic operation upon reincarnation; whoever offended her would be held a grudge for a lifeti. She could forsake everything for power, whether her words were true or false. Yet she wouldn’t let love and affection affect her decision-making. If she needed to use emotions, she wouldn’t hesitate.
But Ash couldn’t play along as the Sword Maiden said; he still harbored hatred for Vishi, which is why the Bonds Level couldn’t be raised.
"You won’t die," Ash remarked, "Don’t you still have the Soul Box?"
"Huh?" Vishi was stunned, then nodded, "Although that’s true, reincarnation with the Soul Box ans starting anew. I still hope to..."
"I thought your decisiveness ca from having the Soul Box, considering that, at worst, you’d break free from the ruby chain and be reborn, whereas if we ascend, you’d remain under my control. Perhaps failure is the better outco for you."
Vishi was silent for a mont, then helplessly laughed: "Master, you’ve seen through ."
"Your actions make it hard for not to think of you this way," Ash said, "But if...if you tell that this isn’t how you think, I might be able to dispel my prejudice against you and raise the Bonds Level."
"But that is exactly how I think."
Vishi looked up at Ash, her face devoid of the flattery of a maid, but instead filled with the Ghost Prophet’s calmness: "Considering exit strategies and maximizing benefits, that is my style. I am a demigod who has lived for millennia, reborn over three lifetis. If you think I’d risk everything for love or responsibility..."
"You overestimate your importance in my heart and underestimate my dedication to ambition."
Vishi gently placed her hand on Ash’s chest, her voice so soft only they could hear:
"Not all girls want to be your wings, Master."
There was little surprise in Ash; even if Vishi had chosen to lie, he couldn’t believe her. He knew what kind of person Vishi was and knew he couldn’t change her nature. Can rain-soaked drops carve through stubborn stone?
"It’s just..."
"Just what?"
"I just hope the chains can break apart," Vishi said, "But your Fate, I still wish to manipulate."
"The Ghost Prophet’s goodwill indeed chills to the bone," Ash chuckled softly, "Yet precisely because of that... I believe you."
At that mont, Ash felt sothing unusual in his hand, as a ssage suddenly popped up:
"Detected special connection ’ruby chain’ with operator, enhancing connection effect."
"Notice: ’Demon Maid’s’ Bonds Level temporarily increased to 5."
Ash lightly pulled, and a delicate collar appeared on Vishi’s neck from the chains pulling, seemingly intending to draw her into Ash. At the sa ti, Vishi’s Void Wings burst into deep blue flas, and Ash gathered the fourth deep blue Soul Wings!
"This is the power of Supre Color! Not just knowledge Void Wings, but Supre Void Wings! The boundary of Supre Magic, transcending all color!"
Vishi flew excitedly in the air, intoxicated by the imnse power gained without effort: "It’s unbelievable, so unbelievable! Even without the fifth Void Wings, I feel I’ve already surpassed my past life... Thanks, Ash!"
She delightedly flew over and kissed Ash on the cheek as if the harsh words said earlier had been from soone else. Ash’s expression was sowhat complex; he wondered if he had ntioned the Bonds Level was ’temporary’—did she think a single dye could grant lifelong enjoynt?
Nonetheless, with this, the crippled Ash finally had the capital to bear Hell. He gazed at the profound darkness of Hell, spread towards the impending suffocating despair, unfolding his most dazzling, fiery wings!
Purple-red Sword Wings,
Pink Gold Ti Wings,
Silver Lamp Light Wings,
Deep Blue Soul Wings,
Supre Tail Feathers!
Hell seed to also feel their defiance. At that mont, all things in the world faded away, leaving only the overwhelming darkness sweeping over them.
