Quickly, he felt another kiss on his right and then left cheek. Ash felt as though he was drowning in these girls’ gentle embrace. He knew that this was just a temporary concession to thank him; it didn’t an they truly wanted to serve him together. Tomorrow, the grievances would still be grievances, the jealousy would still be jealousy, and the hostility would still be hostility.

The battle imdiately ceased. Sonia landed in front of him, curiously asking, “Why not rest more if you’re wounded? Did we wake you?”
Ash asked nervously, “Why are you fighting?”
“We were just honing our skills and getting familiar with Demigod Ranked battles,” Diya explained. “It’s fortunate the Kingdom of Senluo is a place we can ravage freely, without worrying about battle aftereffects affecting the celestial phenona and changing the terrain. For us, there’s no better place to hone our skills.”
So that’s it. Ash breathed a sigh of relief, reaching out to pat the Sword Maiden’s shoulder, “I thought you were really fighting—”
Sonia dodged sideways, and Ash’s hand hit empty air. They looked at each other, Ash opened his arms to hug her, but Sonia dodged again.
Ash looked at himself, puzzled, asking, “Do I have a problem?”
The female mages exchanged glances, Sonia coughed, speaking solemnly, “Actually, after you passed out, we made a resolution.”
“At the Star Bridge Hall battle, I realized we were too complacent. After ascending to Demigod status, we barely honed our skills, didn’t even fully grasp the Wonders. If we hadn’t spent the past half-month indulging, but instead researched our powers, we might not have been defeated so badly by Sword Law.”
“To prevent feeling helpless again, we’ve decided to wholeheartedly hone our skills, practice tactical coordination, striving not to hold you back in the coming battle against Supre Star. We want to be your standard bearers.”
