Chapter 556: Chapter 451 Take Away

“But isn’t that very bad?”

Harvey bit on his cat grass smoke and said, “If all the work erases our mories, how can we go to the surface city to gather intelligence?”

“I could work part-ti as a mory Master and retrieve the mories you’ve lost,” Igula said. “But as the reports suggest, these ‘apocalypse task’ mories are harmful rather than beneficial to the person concerned. Many have already fallen into this trap—trying to uncover the ‘Infinite Apocalypse’ flaws through ‘apocalypse tasks,’ but both they and their test subjects end up with totally obliterated souls.”

“Obliterated?” Harvey frowned. “Their spirits aged to death?”

“Sothing like that, those working mories are like poison, accelerating the aging of the spirit,” Igula explained. “However, restoring mories once or twice occasionally is fine, since we are still young, but…”

Ash paused for a mont and then looked toward Banjee, whose face was pale.

Despite Banjee’s appearance as a graceful blue-haired young man, he was already in his sixties. Even though becoming a Mage might enhance the quality of the spirit, it could not prolong its lifespan—just as strengthening the body could not stop aging, only fend off diseases.

“… Reconnaissance doesn’t require everyone to go together,” Banjee stood up and said. “I can stay in the underground city and wait for you, and join you on the day of action to invade the Imperial Palace. You just need to lead the way, and I can provide you the most robust support!”

“But we don’t need support,” Igula calmly said. “In the Imperial Palace, we can only allow one battle—that is the battle with the Tower guard. Any other battle would an the operation has failed, and an alerted palace will give us no further chance.”

“That’s correct,” Hanna looked earnestly at the housekeeper who had taken care of her for many years. “Banjee, you are no longer of use here.”

The blue-haired housekeeper sat down blankly, his mood so low that even his color seed to turn gray.

However, Purple Moth continued, “I won’t ntion Ash, he is the core of the assassination plan; Igula and Harvey are on the Happiness List, they are also competitors for the Divine Lord’s desire, I must keep them with . Only you and Liss, for this plan, are now rely superfluous.”

“Hanna…” Ash couldn’t help but call out.

“Moreover.” Hanna paused. “You just ntioned sending Liss to Qinna, that plan is utterly unworkable—do you think Qinna would hesitate to use Liss as leverage against Ash, or believe that the white mist of Vatican Mura can’t enchant Liss to beco part of the Six Emblems?”

“Are you unaware of how cruel and heartless Qinna can be to those not of her kin or of interest to her? Not to ntion that Ash and I are also concerned with the continuation of the Senheiser family… Maybe no sooner than you send Liss there, we might see photos of a battered Liss, and the next day Ash appears in Qinna’s dark room.”

“Mrs. Qinna probably wouldn’t…” Banjee began to say but found himself lacking confidence, “Then find Miss Cleris or Miss Yvalin—”

Hanna shook her head. “Yvalin is a Domination Mage that even Igula can’t fully counter, and Cleris is thoroughly a Red Hat upholding the Yisu dynasty, while Liss knows all our plans. Do you want us to fail before we even start?”

“Other than you, entrusting Liss to anyone else is unsafe, both for her and for us… If you aren’t willing to take care of Liss, then we’ll have no choice but to let Liss die.”

Igula’s eyes shone brightly, Harvey habitually glanced at Liss, and Ash instantly shielded Liss behind him, saying loudly, “Miss, I have a ‘Contract’ with Liss!”

“Oh right, Ash has to protect Liss,” Hanna seed to rember this stipulation now. “That ans we must deal with Ash and Liss together, but Ash is central to the assassination… Banjee, what do you suggest?”

Banjee was almost pleading, “Liss and I can stay in the underground city and wait for support…”

“Our plan to enter the Imperial Palace never included a return,” Purple Moth adjusted an earring. “Staying in the underground city and returning to Azura are effectively the sa; the difference is that the latter would give us more peace of mind.”

“Let’s consider it making sure I have no worries,” Hanna smiled. “Banjee, allow this last whim.”

It was almost like a spell, stripping Banjee of his last bit of spirit. He dejectedly looked at the ground, tilting his head slightly to cast a hopeful glance at Liss.

Liss was stunned—was she now expected to persuade Hanna, when he was in fact relying on her?

Liss had already discussed countless tis with her sisters while looking at her hand mirror, trying to find a legitimate reason to stay.

At last, the conclusion was drawn: none!

This was definitely not a hastily conceived idea by Hanna; she might have been planning to send Banjee and Liss away since the day the “Happiness List” was issued—and it had to be together—in fact, Hanna wasn’t particularly concerned about Liss; she simply cared about Banjee, who was like a father or brother to her, and his remaining years.

Banjee was the largest stumbling block on her path to death.

Hanna knew well that she was the only pillar of life for Banjee; if the plan failed and everyone perished, even if Banjee barely survived, he would surely have a ntal breakdown and might even follow her through hell to the Void Realm.

Therefore, Hanna had to find a new pillar of life for Banjee.

Since Banjee had lost a daughter, she would find him another one.

Perhaps, the mont she adopted Liss, this Purple Moth had already foreseen today.

“Banjee cannot beco a gospel worker,” “There is no combat in the Imperial Palace,” “It is unsafe to foster Liss in soone else’s ho”—these excuses all fell short; there were a hundred more reasons to keep Banjee than to send him away. Ultimately, Hanna wished for Banjee to leave, so Liss had to go with him.

That way, even if Hanna truly was gone, Banjee could find a new sense of purpose in life through caring for Liss, just like he initially cared for Hanna.

Conversely, the reasons for Liss not to stay here outnumbered the reasons for her to stay by a hundredfold. Or rather, she had no reason from the beginning to participate in this dangerous blasphemous gospel plan.

Ash, Hanna, Harvey, and Igula surely had figured it out—from the start—even Ash acknowledged that Liss could not stay here, let alone everyone else; Liss even suspected that Ash had discussed this with Hanna long ago—thinking back, after the princess assassination plan was made, Ash’s attitude toward her had improved significantly.

Now, the tighter Ash hugged her, the more resolute his determination for her to leave beca.

The Witch sisters had never expected that their greatest enemy to staying here was the person who valued them the most.

A more formidable cage than a tower is love.

Only previously, it was Banjee acting as the Tower to protect Hanna, and Liss as the cage binding Ash, now everything was reversed.

“What to do, what to do, what to do…”

“The main point is Ash; we must convince him!”

“If you can’t even break free from his embrace, who can you convince?”

At that mont, everyone’s Gospel Books suddenly popped open. The group was slightly stunned at first, then their facial expressions drastically changed—less than three days had passed, and the Weaving Festival had published the sixth list!

The weaving was accelerating!

While everyone was still dazed, Liss suddenly said, “Daddy, take with you!”

Before Ash could even respond, he was already darting out the door with Liss. Igula imdiately stood up to follow, but his shoulder was held back by the Necromancer.

“Let go.”

“Igula, you really don’t understand human hearts.”

“Oh?” The Swindler retorted with anger turned into laughter: “A Necromancer wants to discuss human hearts with a Spirit Mage?”

Harvey spoke, “Even Alice knows, a coffin can sleep at most two people. Not because the coffin isn’t big enough, but because sotis, only two are allowed to face each other.”

“Let them sort it out themselves.”
