Chapter 617: Chapter 497 All-Knowing Weaver Personally Adds More
The crowd looked toward the Empress, their hearts also burning with unanswered questions.
In fact, ever since “Gospel Ash” had swept through aggressively, nullifying most of the subsequent list entries, they had vaguely anticipated the possibility of “Yayin.”
Although they were psychologically prepared, they could only accept this outco; it did not an they could understand it.
No matter how they thought about it, “the appearance of Yayin” seriously violated too many rules of the Weaving Festival, and indeed the future being weaved was a ss and even contradictory. rcury was being polite by only saying “deceived”; they all felt that the Gospel was ssing around.
“Can’t you wait for the new emperor to give you the answers personally?”
The Empress sat back on her throne and calmly stated, “However, the weaving has now ended, and Rayin can also answer for you.”
“First of all, Yayin completely ets the requirents for making the list,” she explained. “In fact, the Gospel List does not restrict based on gender; it is just that historically it has mostly been young girls creating your misconception. There have been male First Gospels before, Yayin is not unique.”
But what about “the purest, most naive, kindest, best”? Look at the harem the Gospel had reserved for him, look at his actions. Hasn’t he redefined what these adjectives an?
To say nothing of the rest, surely he is not “pure”? Can he still be a virgin?
However, these subjective personal qualities were clearly difficult to use as points of attack, so everyone asked about the more perplexing part: “But Ash is not only unrelated to the royal family, he is from the Exotic Realm and only arrived in the Gospel realm several weeks ago. Why has there been such a change when the forr First Gospels have always been Princess Yisu?”
“Because Princess Yisu has lost her eligibility,” the Empress said frankly. “So the Gospel had to select a new First Gospel.”
“Why was Ash chosen? What is special about him?” soone asked straightforwardly, holding their breath, waiting for the Empress to reveal so secrets of the Gospel.
“That is naturally because he ets the requirents of the Gospel List: pure, naive, kind, good,” the Empress answered flawlessly. “And the Gospel did not directly choose Yayin; he was rely one of the candidates.”
At that mont, Qinna raised her hand: “Since Ash is the First Gospel, doesn’t that fill the first nine lists with conflicts and contradictions? Why do the first three lists suggest that the doomsday disaster is related to Ash? Why were the rankings of the latter six lists invalidated by Ash?”
“Because Ash caused changes sufficient to affect the judgent of the Gospel,” the Empress explained. “The Gospel can only achieve ‘limited omniscience.’ As a person from the Exotic Realm, the Gospel cannot fully predict his future.”
“In the ‘Art List,’ Yayin was indeed considered by the Gospel as the origin of the doomsday disaster, hence Nabistin had issued a wanted order for him. But between the ‘Art List’ and ‘Family List,’ Yayin encountered a turning point.”
“What turning point?” Yvalin asked.
The Empress did not answer: “If previously Yayin was just a candidate, from the ‘Family List’ onwards, Yayin was the only choice for the First Gospel, it had to be him, only him.”
Everyone couldn’t help but look toward Senheiser—During the gap between the ‘Art List’ and ‘Family List,’ Ash had been staying in Senheiser, so he must have encountered so major turning point there, which is why he beca the officially designated candidate for the First Gospel.
What treasure have you Senheiser hidden, and how did such resources flow to an outsider? No, on second thought, Ash seems to be their “field” already…
Nona looked at Qinna, who frowned slightly.
She rembered Ash had been simply playing gas those days, and had encountered no unusual events in reality, so where did he encounter the turning point?
“The ‘Family List’ and ‘Deceit List’ were actually the effects caused by Yayin to save the Gospel,” the Empress said. “Facing natural disasters, living beings were no longer sufficient to counter it, so it was necessary for all to turn to necromancy; facing man-made disasters, Yayin fell prematurely, hence there was the resurrection journey of Rusted Crow.”
“By the ti of the ‘Happiness List,’ another turning point appeared. But this ti, it was unrelated to Yayin, and originated from the interference of the All-knowing Weaver.”
The All-knowing Weaver?
Hearing about this Supre entity, everyone was stunned. They had not expected this rely once-every-fifty-years Weaving Festival to draw the attention of a Divine Lord—even rcury was taken aback.
So what if Ash is from the Exotic Realm, he has passed under the watch of the All-knowing Weaver, there could be no more reliable endorsent.
“The reason for the interference is unknown, the result is as everyone has seen,” the Empress continued. “The subsequent lists from the ‘Family List’ onwards were actually Yayin’s ‘brand new future’ in guarding the Gospel, and had nothing to do with the ‘tragic future’ of the ‘Art List.’ But Divine interference is the biggest variable. With the All-knowing Weaver’s watch, the Gospel finally successfully weaved a ‘perfect future’ better than the ‘brand new future’.”
“In this ‘perfect future,’ including the six lists after the ‘Happiness List,’ were all unachievable, so they had to be voided. Actually, the first three lists should also have been voided, but since they had already been published, they were not retracted.”
Anfeier muttered, “A ‘perfect future’ better than a ‘brand new future’? What’s the difference between the two?”
“The first nine lists were built on the premise that the doomsday disaster was inevitable, even the ‘brand new future’ was so,” the Empress explained. “But in the ‘perfect future’ under the watch of the All-knowing Weaver, we will preemptively exterminate the calamity, narrowly missing the apocalypse.”
“Natural disasters, doomsday, Necromancy family, Rusted Crow’s deceit, as well as everything invalidated by Yayin…none will occur.”
“The Gospel helped us weave the utmost benevolent and virtuous Yayin, the All-knowing Weaver pointed out the noise that troubles all beings.”
Just then, the Gospel Book, which should have been silent, suddenly made itself known again.
That bright purple bookmark, completely different from the updates of the Weaving Festival, prompted a peculiar thought in everyone’s mind: Is this an exclusive addition by the All-knowing Weaver personally?
“It’s ti,” the Empress opened the page marked by the bookmark, commanding to soone unknown: “Welco back Yayin, eliminate the noise.”
…
…
“Hmm!”
Ash suddenly lunged forward, knocking over the floor-length mirror. The mirror crashed to the ground, shattering into countless pieces.
“Dad!?”
Liss rushed over to help Ash, who was kneeling on the shards, clutching his head, “Dad, what’s wrong? Don’t scare , please dad!”
Ash couldn’t hear Liss’s words; his fingers dug deep into his scalp like iron spikes, trying to counter the chaotic mories in his mind with pain. He wanted to scream, but all sounds were stuck in his throat; he wanted to vent, but his body seed to not respond!
In his vision, those shattered pieces of mirror were displaying mory fragnts of which he had no recollection: he had enchanted a young Mage to walk to the overpass and jump off; he had drained a Sea Demon of all its moisture, throwing it into the fountain in the plaza; he was standing outside the bathroom, staring at Banjee washing his hands…
These mories were so vivid, and the emotions in the mories so intense, yet distinctly separate from his original mories. Ash couldn’t assimilate these mories and instead felt as if his soul was being sucked into them!
“Dad, dad!” Watching Ash writhing in unbearable pain, Liss herself was in a panic. She sobbed, looked down at the hand mirror, then her expression quickly beca calm as she wiped her tears and snot with her sleeve. Unbeknownst to her, streaks of black and red now threaded through her soft white hair.
She cleared away the broken mirror pieces around Ash, ignoring the cuts on her hands, then guided Ash to lie sideways on her legs, and held his head, whispering into his ear, “Ash, we’ll live in a place with a garden in the future, we’ll see the sea when we step outside, and we’ll have a dog and a cat…”
“Ash, we have to go to Joy World again, just us…”
“Ashu, co on, pull yourself together.”
“Dad, I’ll introduce you to four beautiful sisters, can you please co back to your senses?”
“Ash.” Tears uncontrollably stread down Liss’s face: “Don’t leave .”
Ash, whose body had been tensely twitching, suddenly relaxed, slumping to the ground like a mudslide. Liss struggled to prop his back up to sit him up, anxiously asking, “Hey, can you hear speaking? Feeling any better?”
“A bit, but not completely…” Ash gritted his teeth and stood up, supported by the bed leg, “The other is too strong…”
In Ash’s perception, there were two selves in his spiritual world: one was the embodint of his past mories, and the other was the ‘Gospel Ash’ ford from those invasive mories.
‘Gospel Ash’ was ferociously strong, pumling the original so hard that it had him calling for an ambulance. If ‘Gospel Ash’ won, he would gain all the souls, and then only ‘Gospel Ash’ would remain in this world, with no trace of the original Ash.
But just when Ash thought he was literally about to ‘begin a new life,’ the spiritual original suddenly emitted a purple glow and stood up to continue fighting ‘Gospel Ash’, holding him off equally, and thus Ash barely regained control over his body.
Naturally, Ash knew the source of that purple light— the Secret Avatar’s “Secret Keeping Authority.”
Though the Secret Avatar usually wasn’t very useful, it beca indispensable at crucial monts. Its “Mysterious Power” allowed him to naturally blend into any environnt and assu any identity; the “Secret Keeping Authority” enhanced his spirit resiliency and Divine Being adaptability.
Without the Secret Avatar, he might have been gone now.
Watching the worried ‘Liss’, Ash casually cast a Joyful Sword to heal her hand cuts, then leaning against the wall, said, “Let sort out the situation… I’m at the top of the Gospel List, so I am the First Gospel… Why ? How could it be ? It can’t be ! I refuse to accept it!”
Ash was no less shocked than anyone else—he rembered that the requirents for the First Gospel were ‘the purest, most naive, most kind, and most wonderful girl.’ Not to ntion the gender mismatch, could a several-year corporate drone still have anything to do with these descriptors?
You praise with these words, I might even think you’re being sarcastic!
Ash was certain that the Gospel List hadn’t included him through normal channels, he just didn’t know why it had given him a backdoor.
The Gods of Four Pillars? Blood Moon? He had nothing valuable on him that would earn the Gospel’s favor!
As Ash flipped open the Gospel Book to revisit his listing details, the book suddenly popped out a purple sticky note.
It was a ssage from Hanna.
“In the basent, there is a Divine Being whose appearance is exactly like yours.”
Those bizarre, alien mories in his mind, and that seemingly divine self in the alien mories…
Divine Being, wielding a Divine Being with a Mortal Body…
Secret Avatar, Secret Keeping Authority…
“Are you okay?” ‘Liss’ tugged at his sleeve.
Ash stared blankly at ‘Liss’ and managed a smile uglier than crying.
