Chapter 638: Chapter 508: Only Those Who Do Not Make Wishes Can Have Their Wishes Fulfilled_3

Ash held his breath for a mont, and Ling Ting, the Angel, remained silent as well. They knew Diya’s next thought would determine the fate of billions.

Suddenly, Diya asked, “Ash, do you have a wish?”

Ash was stunned for a mont before quickly replying, “Cancel the ‘List of the Unfavored.'”

“Right, the Unfavored,” Diya suddenly awoke as if she had almost forgotten, “I haven’t saved Nina yet—”

“Save?”

The sound of a bell chid again, and Ling Ting curiously asked, “You want to save an Unfavored?”

“Yes.” Catching the subtext in Ling Ting’s tone, Diya quickly asked, “Could it be that the Unfavored aren’t actually dead?”

“Not only are they not dead, but they are also living well,” Ling Ting replied with a laugh, “All the Unfavored live a happy and blissful life in the Heavenly Kingdom.”

“Ah?” both Ash and Diya were stunned.

“Wondrous, but it’s normal that you wouldn’t know,” Ling Ting said, “For various reasons, the Heavenly Kingdom needs to accommodate so mortals, and it ensures their life is joyous and beautiful. Different Divine Lords have different criteria for whom they admit; so select based upon devotion, so based upon fate, and so specifically choose those close to death… and the All-knowing Weaver’s criteria is the ‘List of the Unfavored.'”

“The so-called Unfavored are those who do not bond with society, who cannot adapt, and are ostracized by societal mbers through their actions. Not being on the ‘List of the Unfavored’ ans one can find happiness in society, while those listed are granted bliss by the All-knowing Weaver.”

“It’s fair, right?” Ling Ting smiled, the bell sounding again, “There will always be those who receive the Weaver’s blessings, so let them choose who deserves happiness most.”

Having already encountered the precedent ‘only those who do not wish can receive wishes,’ Ash was no longer inclined to critique the philosophical whims of the All-knowing Weaver upon hearing ‘only the most unfortunate can obtain happiness.’

Diya felt this more profoundly—’only those who want to reveal secrets must keep them.’ Everything about the All-knowing Weaver was full of contradictions, as if she enjoyed testing humanity with these mocking trials.

“Thus, you have no reason to save an Unfavored,” Ling Ting looked at Diya, “of course, you can pull her back to reality if you wish. As for the ‘List of the Unfavored’… as you like.”

Upon hearing this, Diya also appeared bewildered.

She stared vacantly at the Spider Silk for a while, her grip loosening and then tightening, loosening and tightening again, unable to help but turn her pleading eyes toward Ash. Ash shrugged, walked over, crouched beside her, and patted her head without a word.

But that seed to give Diya enough courage. She clutched the Spider Silk tightly until the other end was connected in her palm.

“Need a light?” Ling Ting kindly asked.

“No,” Diya shook her head, holding the Spider Silk in one hand and gripping Ash’s sleeve with the other as she stood up and said, “Let’s go back.”

“Wondrous.” Ling Ting didn’t smile, but the bell still rang, “Truly the people selected by the Gospel.”

“But really, won’t you reconsider? That’s an almost omnipotent Wish Machine, and though becoming an angel is a bit difficult, becoming an immortal Legendary Mage is definitely feasible. Even if not for yourself, think about the person beside you—”

“Alright, alright,” Ash interrupted her: “We’ll have ti to hang out and eat Lala fat later; just send us back now, soone is waiting for us.”

“—You dare to interrupt an Angel’s speech?”

The severe voice seed to pierce the soul, and Ash and Diya huddled together, shivering.

“Wondrous.” But the next second, Ling Ting cald down, “You really are very peculiar people.”

“Since you do not want the Divine Lord’s wish, then I will give you an Angel’s Wish instead.”
